YCM's Seasonal Anime Character Tournament - Summer 2013


This is also what it looks like: A tournament to decided what anime character YCM likes the most, seasonally. We're not saying they're better than one another, just that it would be interested to see who more people happen to like.

 
[spoiler=Rules]-All YCM rules apply
-People will pick 1 favorite character from every anime they've watched during the Summer 2013 anime season
-We count up the nominations
-The top 2 of each anime will participate in a single elimination tournament style voting
-For some reason, there will be a third place
-All nominations must be in by midnight within 10 days (by May 19 11:59 PM EST)
-If there are any ties, the first 1 (or 2) nominated in the tie will move on to the tournament

-Explaining something to make sure there are no questions about the rule above, the "or 2 in a tie". This is if there are more than two in the tie (no further explanation necessary).

-NEW If there are a significantly low amount of nominations (20 characters or less nominated) by the last day, the people who've already nominated can nominate 4 more characters, ignoring the limit on what anime the characters are from, and the max number of characters from one anime goes up from 2 to 3[/spoiler]

Nominations have ended ten days after they started since the first one. Since the second one, I thought it would be best to set an exact time, so that no one thinks "This is bs, you didn't tell us when nominations are over!" because I ended them abruptly.

Because of the low number of nominations, I think I should give more out to the members that already nominated. The 3 people that posted above can pick 4 more, ignoring the limit on what anime the characters are from. Also, the max from one anime goes up to 3 this time.
 

Just isn't it weird that you chose to end it right before a given day and not a more orthodox time like idk, right at the next day?

Yes.

 

EDIT: Oh, in case there's anyone wondering what time it is for me right now, it's going on 12:30 PM. That would leave about 11 1/2 hours left. I know people don't want to feel obligated to google the time somewhere else in the world all the time, so there it is.

Um, the thing is, there's a reason I said you can continue to vote until they're closed. Because I might not be online at the time is part of it, but the other part is so we don't have to have a rematch (I stole this idea from DL ;D). So if there's anyone that can, it'd be awesome if you'd break the three ties so far.

I changed the newest rule about a low amount of people nominating to a low amount of nominations. This is because there could be a really popular season where 1 person nominated 15+ characters (all from a different anime, of course). When a popular season like that comes, there will likely be more than 32 characters nominated, and able to make it into the tournament, with only 3 people having nominated.

 

In a case like that, there can only be a low amount of nominations if only one or two people nominate, and I never add mine until someone else does. So it's highly unlikely that would happen in a popular season, but I believe it makes a lot more sense than having that rule come into effect if a low number of people nominate characters.
