Although the outline was a bit unnecessary, I think it was the textures that kinda interfere with the depth. The way you have it set up, the c4d and bg have the texture overlayed and it makes them look like one flat layer almost. Your render then sits on top, not really blending in on the right side. With the light source you have some nice blending going on, but it is a bit bright. Anyways, some potential here. I really like the idea of using like landscape bgs, some tweaking with the textures and lighting though could be good imo.

Black opaque soft brush outline probably ruins some of the depth.  all the sig...

 

This could be nice, without these black borders and this crappy C4D (and of course, with other things...)  :C
