Just as a reminder, the registration for that Dragon tournament started already; so start getting teams ready if you plan on entering.

You need at least 1 Dragon on team (or some Poke that can Mega Evolve into one), but that should be obvious.

Still figuring out what I want to do, especially since I have access to the Uber stuff now; as opposed to OU and under things like I have to put up with in Institute/Maison.

That's probably the case.

Eventually they'll have to find a way to release Hoopa over here; especially since people already found out both of its formes via hacks.

(Probably will have a world thing like they did with Diancie or something; idk)

---

As for my team, probably going to be the same thing I use for Battle Institute; except probably the addition of Rayquaza or one of my Ubers.

(Basically, one of my Eons [mostly Latios because of offensive power]/Sword of Justice, some Steel type to deal with Fairies and fourth to fill in the blanks)

Need to make sure that I don't have gaping type weaknesses, because it will bite me in the ass if I do.

(I should test out a defensive Latias set one day, considering all of mine have been essentially sweeper sets [SpAtk/Spd investment, and other stuff]. Maybe the Mega suggestion, but we'll have to see.)

 • 2 weeks later...

I'd like some advise from you peoples.

I've been thinking of getting into VGC a lot lately, and even though the tournament season is almost over, I might be able to join next year; Plus,We're going to have a Round-Robin Minii-Tournament at my TCG club in a week, so I'd like to get a team ready, at least for that.

I've made...3 teams for that, so far, and I'd like to see which is probably the best, and what I can improve in them.

Gardevoir @ Gardevoirite
Ability: Trace
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Psyshock
- Thunderbolt
- Protect

Aegislash @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 248 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpA
Quiet Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Flash Cannon
- King's Shield
- Sacred Sword

Togekiss @ Safety Goggles
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Follow Me
- Tailwind
- Air Slash
- Roost

Garchomp @ Life Orb
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Dragon Claw
- Rock Slide
- Protect

Tyranitar @ Lum Berry
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Crunch
- Rock Slide
- Dragon Dance
- Protect

Meowstic @ Light Clay
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Light Screen
- Reflect
- Safeguard
- Psychic

Gardevoir can shred through a lot with Hyper Voice, and the other two moves give it nice coverage.

Aegislash is a good Defensive and Offensive partner, having types Gardevoir can't cover, and resisting what she doesn't.

Togekiss redirects attacks nicely, And makes all my mons fast so I can start sweeping ASAP.

Garchomp is the main physical attacker, Having two moves that hit all.

Tyranitar is another physical, but more setup oriented, ideally breaking holes for my other sweepers to clean up.

Meowstic is there for Screen Support. That's all.

It seems kind of...fragile. Not much to totally take advantage of the doubles format, other than Hyper Voice, Follow me, and rock slide.

Salamence @ Salamencite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Draco Meteor
- Earthquake
- Protect

Sylveon @ Pixie Plate
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 188 HP / 68 Def / 252 SpA
Modest Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Psyshock
- Hidden Power [Ground]
- Protect

Suicune @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 232 HP / 84 Def / 112 SpA / 80 SpD
Bold Nature
- Tailwind
- Scald
- Protect
- Snarl

Amoonguss @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 184 Def / 72 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Rage Powder
- Spore
- Protect
- Giga Drain

Aegislash @ Leftovers
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 252 HP / 100 SpA / 156 SpD
Quiet Nature
- Flash Cannon
- Shadow Ball
- Wide Guard
- King's Shield

Terrakion @ Life Orb
Ability: Justified
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
- Rock Slide
- Close Combat
- Protect
- Quick Guard

Mega Mence is an absolute monster with, again, hyper voice, with an -ate move. Funny how that works. Draco Meteor is an absolute nuke, and EQ is good neutral coverage that can catch special walls off guard.

Sylveon is Gardevoir but tiny. And a worse moveset. But still amazing, somehow. Better, actually.

Suicune is a fantastic suypporter for the team. Makes everything crazy fast, can shut down any attacker with non-mega'd salamence.

Amoongus helps form a defensive core with suicune, also being super bulky, having rage powder, and overall being  nusciance to the opponent.

Aegislash is still good, especially with wide guard, even if that limits coverage.

Terrakion helps round out the team, covering weaknesses, breaking through things, and can block fake outs and such.

I'm only truly concerned about this team because of who I'm playing against - I might not be able to use legendaries, so this team might not be viable, but other than the mini-tournament next week, it seems pretty good, form my...uneducated view.

Salamence @ Salamencite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Draco Meteor
- Earthquake
- Protect

Sylveon @ Pixie Plate
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 188 HP / 68 Def / 252 SpA
Modest Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Psyshock
- Hidden Power [Ground]
- Protect

Aegislash @ Leftovers
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 252 HP / 100 SpA / 156 SpD
Quiet Nature
- Flash Cannon
- Shadow Ball
- Wide Guard
- King's Shield

Ludicolo @ Assault Vest
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 164 HP / 140 Def / 68 SpA / 4 SpD / 132 Spe
Bold Nature
- Giga Drain
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Fake Out

Rotom-Heat @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 200 HP / 88 SpA / 220 Spe
Modest Nature
- Overheat
- Thunderbolt
- Will-O-Wisp
- Protect

Tyranitar @ Life Orb
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Rock Slide
- Fire Blast
- Dark Pulse
- Protect

For Mega Mence, Sylveon, and Aegislash, see team 2.

Ludicolo is an absolute special tank, with fake out too boot. It is certainly far from bad.

Rotom and Ludicolo form a defensive core, with Rotom taking care of thigns Ludicolo doesn't like, and vice-versa. It also cripple physical attackers, which is extremely useful with Mega Kangaskhan still being one of the best things, and most other attackers being physical too.

Tyranitar can beat things over with its monstrous attack stats, and really helps round out any weaknesses the team may have.

This team is likely weaker than team 2, but as stated, I might not be able to use legendaries AT ALL, so this is more of a backup team, but may be salvageable otherwise.
I'm a bit iffy about Garchomp being Adamant natured on the first set; even with the Tailwind support.

From testing that you've probably done, do you need the extra power in lieu of the extra speed from a Jolly nature (or whatever +Spd nature you use)?

Moveset seems fine; I would say using Outrage over Claw, but being locked into a move against Fairies will suck, so Claw is good enough.

Then again, it'll hit hard enough with STAB + Life Orb boosting.

Can't really say much about the others though; should be fine.

Outrage is a REALLY bad move because of Fairies. You almost never can use it so Dragon Claw is always the better option now.

Anyway, I know NOTHING about doubles, so I can't help a ton. One possibility is to cut the Safety Goggles for Leftovers. They cancel the damage from Sand/Hail and I don't think Sleep Powder is such a big factor for you to use a worse item.

If this were Gen 5, then yeah Outrage would be good.

But since we have Fairies to put up with now, it's not. (Though I did say that it was a bad idea to even use it)

---

That being said, the Dragon tournament is over now, so just need to undo the lock on my battle box and I can resume normal things.

Note to self; make sure my type weaknesses and crap are dealt with next time. (I got 4 battles done, so should be able to get HA Amaura)

I would've done more, had net been cooperative on Saturday night instead of being buggy.

I know one of my losses was against a Gravity/Trick Room team, which REALLY screwed me over. That had to be my worst performance.
Rayquaza @ Life Orb

252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP | Naive

V-Create

Dragon Ascent

Dragon Dance

ExtremeSpeed (I think)

(This was a Japanese event one with V-Create, so nothing I could do about nature)

Latios @ Expert Belt

252 SpAtk / 252 Spd / 4 HP | Timid

Draco Meteor

Surf

Psyshock

Roost

Terrakion @ Choice Scarf

252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP | Jolly

Close Combat

X-Scissor

Stone Edge (yeah Rock Slide might've helped better)

Earthquake

Xerneas @Leftovers

252 SpAtk / I think 252 Spd / 4 HP | Modest

Moonblast

Focus Blast

Psyshock

Toxic
Outrage is absolutely awful in doubles, due to the random nature...and fairies.
Safety goggles vs leftovers is tricky, but due to the prominence of amoongus and breloom (And to a lesser extent, smeargle), immunity to powder actually comes quite in handy. Plus , it works well with tyranitar.

This is, sadly, just Theorymon at the moment, though. I could try running some +Sp/Atk vs +Spe nature calcs, though.

Technically, that was a Gen 5 one that I had to Pokedit while servers were still up.

---

Although now that Gamefreak/Nintendo disabled it for Sinnoh/Unova games, only way to get past event stuff is Action Replay and stuff.

(Though I don't really need them now)

Results from the Dragon tournament came up (well, a couple days late but whatever).

I more/less placed somewhere in the middle, but probably because I didn't fight as many battles.

Again, blame net problems for some of it (and probably team choices)

That being said, I did the required battles (4 to be exact) and got on the rankings, yet no email with the HA Amaura code came yet.

Although, Bulbapedia doesn't have data on it right now, so assuming they're working on it.

(That being said, if anyone wants one once it comes out, I'd be more than happy to breed you one. Probably might be Modest nature or something, but I can't guarantee that or IVs)

Serebii have something that might help you

If you participated in the Enter the Dragon Type Battle Competition two weeks ago, the entry gift is now available to redeem in all regions. The gift is a Level 10 Amaura with its Hidden Ability of Snow Warning, which was previously unavailable before today. To get this event, you need to go to the special page that pops up on the Global Link and, if you are eligible for the Amaura, you will receive a serial code that can be redeemed in Mystery Gift on Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire. The code works until May 31st 2015

Probably a couple.

Of course, can't guarantee the nature on them however (whatever's on there).

Well, it'll be better than putting them up on GTS like we did for Berserker's stuff; because some one stole it.

I suppose I could just breed it on X (because I have free space), though gotta wait until Friday (because now that I'm back in college, don't have as much time)

Need to make sure I either have a Modest Ditto OR if Amaura comes out female; a suitable male that has the nature in question.

Looking at recommended Smogon sets, it doesn't appear that Amaura really needs any egg moves (though this is off Aurorus's page).

For potential parent stuff, not too much it can offer.

----

I need to get my Amaura soon, though it shouldn't take me more than 2-3 minutes to enter the code and get stuff.

And a note to myself; always carry a Steel-Type.
