Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire

Phantom Roxas

Recommended Posts

Man, I'm taking a while with this game. I only just got to Mossdeep City and I just remembered I need to explore the water routes between Dewford and Slateport.

But that's okay, soaking in all the details and enjoying the journey is something nice I haven't done with Pokémon in a while.

So pardon me for being a Slowbro, I just found out that they banned Mega Rayquaza from Ubers. That's nuts.

[spoiler=Also, I saw this and laughed]

Remember that Rayquaza only needs that one move to Mega Evolve; can still hold another item of its choosing (i.e. Life Orb, Choice Band, Scarf, whatever)

Delta Stream also shuts down its major Ice weakness and vulnerability to Stone Edge; plus giving it a 120 BP STAB on top of 180 base ATK.

As of now, Rayquaza's the only Poke that ever got banned from Ubers [and up until now, a lot of us have considered it as a banlist for OU-tiered stuff].

I really need a full-fledged HM slave; namely for Rock Smash and other things. Surf is more or less handled by my Eons (for coverage options) and I've no need for Fly now with the Eon flute.

I found Azumarill made a pretty useful for HM slave it learns 5 out of 7 (basically not Cut or Fly) HMs. And when do you really need Cut and I usually run a flying Pokemon.  If you could access Bibarel that learns 6 out of 7.

I plan to have Salamence Fly and Gyarados Waterfall if I ever have time to play a bit more outside of bus journeys and work breaks.

Think I got Azumarill in box somewhere; just need a Poke that can use Waterfall/Dive [oh wait, I have Wailord for that, considering needed for golems] + Rock Smash/Cut [can just catch a Bidoof in X or something + transfer over; otherwise I have some generic stuff from Route 101.

Still have Altaria for general Fly purposes; need to unlock Registeel.

If I really wanted to, I'd trade over a Bibarel over from Y and use it as a HM slave but I really can't be bothered, though to be fair I did send a Dawn Stone over.

I also had to make sure I had a Sweet Scent user on hand seeing as using Sweet Scent/Honey seems to be the only way to encounter hordes in this game.

I like how in Jagged Path now has parts for both and Acro bikes. Still need to turn EXP Share off, team is Lv 33/34. Might just breed a Bagon for now rather than wait and spend forever leveling it. I like how most of my items are now from Linoone.

Makes leveling too easy and takes away the grinding concept. I remember spending about 2 weeks on route before Sunyshore to get my team to Lv 70. Now I've done half of that without being near the end.

Should probably get my Bagon whilst waiting to go to work later. I'll get X to catch it up. Least I won't have to wait forever to fly which I had a problem in one game because I didn't pick a flyer for my team.

Is it possible to soft reset the Delta Episode Rayquaza? I just got there and wanted to know if it was shiny locked are not?

It is, but it is shiny locked, along with kyogre and groundon, from what I've heard.

Now that I'm dealing with Kyogre (and had a look at Groudon), what dumb ass thought it was a good idea to equip them with healing moves? They can already OHKO any mon on your team with Origin Pulse/Precipice Blade, they don't NEED any more f***ing help.

Shedninja walls Kyogre, and learns Heal Block and False Swipe. Its easy to beat kyogre w/ him.

Also. i had EXP share on, and I still was under leveled when I beat the E4. All yall need to learn to pokemon.

Have to agree with this.

I kept it on near 100% of the game and even ground a bit (cause blindlocke), and I was a bit underleveled when I beat Steven.

I only skipped water route trainers and the post-Fortree route, to boot.

Hell, I was underleveled during the rematch with E4 (even with EXP share still on); still beat them up though.

Same goes for the initial; well against Steven anyway.

At this point, probably up to Steven's rematch level in term of the native ORAS Pokes I have now; not going to count the level 100s I imported from X b/c that's essentially cheating to an extent [then again, I've no problems letting them run loose in the food court, because those trainers deserve to get hit hard].

(That being said, skipped a lot of trainers b/c I didn't want to put up with them on the way to Pokemon League; can go back and kill them now)

Anyone nuzlocking this game yet? How does it rate in difficulty for that?
Oh wait, Black did.

Even with a loose level limit, not extremely.

Only difficult things were Norman, Kyogre, and Stephen, and general randomness.

The ability to mega evolve is everywhere, so it hurts the difficulty. I restricted it to important trainers (Rivals, Leaders, Admins, E4, Steven), but it still makes it a bit easy if you get any good Mega Evos (Altaria in particular, for me).

Okay so a good rule would be no Mega Evolving.

What other rules do you think would be needed to make it a decent challenge?

And how bad is the encounter rates/diversity? (Would I end up with a lot of the same junk if I didn't do dupes)

Keep in mind I won't be doing a Nuzlocke till I beat it normally first (Cause there's a couple Pokemon I really want to use) but I'm curious how a good nuzlocke would be like for ORAS.

I do like how your rival takes you all the way to Petalburg if you say yes. Totally no need for Route 111 so I've skipped it.

Mega Evolution storyline was a little bland.

Team is 36/37, got myself Bagon. I only did a little grinding when getting getting Magikarp to Gyarados so only upto my team was 24, so not quite sure how I've overleveled (other than tiny bit at the start, but that stopped when Beldum hit Lv10). A little gutted I have to wait longer for Gyarados' mega stone.

You know, doing a contest, I can't help but feel as you climb the ranks that more of the pokemon that appear are just assigned to sabotaging you.

Yeah, I know.

Hyper Rank in Beauty contests, a lot of them tried to screw me over by startling (hence skipping a turn of appeals); especially that rich snob (you know, the one with GX Chazz's ego + name) and some random guy's Camerupt/Nuzleaf.

When I take on Master Rank, probably going to assume this will be even more so.

Either I use full power moves from the start + not let up, or I have to start sabotaging their moves myself.

[So much work just to get a Lucarionite out of Lisia...]

Yea, when I saw how we get the Lucarionite I was just like, screw it, going to move it over from Y.

Honestly, I have no idea how I should even go about tackling contests since the value of moves is NOTHING like in the actual game. Which, is a good thing I guess, but it makes it hard to just switch over.
