Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire

Phantom Roxas

Recommended Posts

Just arrived at Lilycove. My team's almost fully evolved - just waiting on Roselia to reach level 50 so she can learn Petal Dance. BTW, British, it's amazing how similar my team is compared to your planned Omega Ruby team.

Magnezone (Misaka): Modest Lv.46
Flygon (Accelerator): Adamant Lv.46
Roselia (Therestina): Quiet Lv.47
Gallade (Kuroko): Lonely Lv.47
Milotic (Ecaterina): Modest Lv.47
Swampert (Gekota): Lonely Lv. 49

It would've been even more similar if I decided to use Roserade on my team, but I decided against it because I had one on my team in X, thus replaced it with Lord Root (Cradily). It's merely a coincidence that my planned team is somewhat similar to yours.

After my first playing session last night, my team was

Rocket the Adamant Zigzagoon : LV9

Rachel the Jolly Zigzagoon : LV10

Zigzagoon the Careful Zigzagoon : LV10

Zigzagoon the Brave Zigzagoon : LV 11

Roxie the Quiet Zigzagoon : LV 12

Skipper the Adamant Mudkip : LV 13

Zigzagoon and Zigzagoon will be renamed Roxette and Rosseane once I find the name rater.

Closed the game right after winning the first badge, with the five goonies doing most of the work and Skipper coming out to beat Nosepass.

Played a little more today. Rescued the Wingull, all the goons are lv 13 and Skip just evolved. Now I have captured all the pokemon found on the routes of the first part of the game. When I play again, I'll take the nice boat.

I guess I got really lucky then; I wasn't planning on soft-resetting for Latias anyways, but I happened to get a timid one with 31 SpAtk IVs (haven't checked the rest of the stats yet) on my first try.

Yeah, you got lucky.

For ideal reasons, would be great if the perfect IVs are in SpAtk, Speed and HP [although high defensive ones will help a bit].

@evilfusion: I know it's frustrating; remember having to reset at least 30 or so times just to get the IVs I wanted in the appropriate areas (and nature). Think my L/R buttons broke because of it; idk.

As much as I'd like to transfer the Y-exclusive Mega Stones from ORAS to XY; don't own another 3Ds, so have to do it through Pokebank (and it doesn't take items).

So I finally defeated Team Aqua and caught Kyogre with the Master Ball. After getting the Eon Flute, apparently I flew home and found that Birch gives you the National Dex giving you the option to either become Champion or complete the Pokedex as an alt./side option immediately. Even the Victory Road trainers have Pokemon from outside gens.

So far the National Dex allows more Pokemon to be discovered, and luckily I got a Careful Murkrow and evolved it to Honchcrow and replaced my Ninetales with it.

On my way to Victory Road now, and my team is about Lv 52-58 so far.

I still have to kill most of the trainers on Victory Road; tried to avoid them during initial run due to time constraints.

On that note, wish I didn't use the Master Ball on Kyogre; would've been nice to use it on the shiny Lugia I found in Sea Mauville.

Oh well then.

Also note that you can have wild Pokemon battles in the sky while on (Mega) Latias/Latios.

Haven't caught anything from skies yet; probably will.

With some effort, I managed to get almost 20 Master Balls from people that didn't use theirs in X/Y (including my own game). Will trade them to Alpha and use them for soft reseting legendaries.

Has anyone tried leaving a com-mon in the ORAS GTS and asking for something you have in your XY game, and then trade with yourself? Would be a slow but good way to move pokemon to ORAS if you have no more than one console and have access to internet. And unlike pokebank, you would be able to move items.

That actually seems like a really good idea. Not one would trade a Charizard for a Zigzagoon, but you would trade one to yourself.

People have acutally used the GTS method, and it works perfect, especially when transferring items you've worked hard for at the Battle Maison in X/Y. Problem I'd find is that I need 2 DSes, a stabilized Internet connection, and A LOT of patience.

I guess I wouldn't even consider, seeing that I have boxes of competitive Pokemon.

Haven't tried it yet, but if it works; I'm more than willing to try this method.

Probably should've waited before trying to transfer a Poke with an Everstone/Destiny Knot for breeding purposes from X.

Not that I move items that often though.

Just need to make sure I have enough crappy Pokes to get rid of; there's always Route 101 spam if I need to.

I'm honestly going to keep breeding in XY. The coin trick makes things a lot easier and I want all my pokemon to come from the same game anyway. If I need anything specificly from ORAS I can jusst move the baby once I've breed it since I don't know of anything that needs me to do the breeding there.

Guys, heads up. According to Serebii, the item held by Absols found by the DexNav is the Life Orb. That's right, you can find Life Orbs in the wild now.

Also, Munchie is now a Crobat at lv 23, so mint.

Already got one ;)

Not going to lie, I actually ran into an Absol with one on my first try. I just had no idea why it was losing health though and killed it. When I saw that it was a Life Orb I made a point to go back and get one. Going to farm SO many from them in the post game. Just a shame I bought all those Life Orbs in Y.

Anyway, didn't get a whole lot done today on account from getting Milotic and looking at a contest, getting High Jump Kick on Blaziken, and making it to Mt. Pyre where I spent 30 min getting a Pain Split Duskull. And while it is a shame it can't fully evolve, Evolite Dusclopse is likely better than Dusknoir anyway.

The method works with one 3DS; just that you have to save game; remove cartridge, put in other game, go on GTS there and offer, etc.

It's extremely tedious, but guess that's what happens if you don't have $150 or something for another console.

As for breeding, same. Might as well do all my breeding in X/Y, since I have all the O-Powers I need there.

(Of course, I can just trade evo my stuff on GTS on own w/out waiting; just need to make sure some other guy doesn't offer on them)

Nice, that'll defo save me a few BP knowing I can get one in the wild.

Btw... what are the new Mega Evos? Other than Sharpedo and Camerupt. :P

Beat Steven through an epic battle, now onto the Delta Episode.

[spoiler=Motherf***ker]

So I came to Sky Pillar and encountered Mega Rayquaza. I got my Alakazam to use Thunder Wave and dim it down to around 1 HP, and luckily I caught him in the first try. After being Zinnia easily, I went up into f****g space ,and there was Deoxys. Did the same strategy with Rayquaza, but Deoxys is harder than catching either Rayquaza or Kyogre. That Recover plus a lethal Psycho Boost just keeps getting annoying at topped Lv 80. Better yet, Psychic on Deoxys landed an unfortunate critical hit...and killed Deoxys. Goddamnit.

So apparently since you can't go into a save state after you beat Zinnia, I gotta catch Rayquaza all over again. Oh my lord....

Sigh, I don't know how I ended up this way, but my Pokemon are somehow way overleveled (I don't even use the exp share half the time). I guess I'll be turning off the exp share for the rest of the play through :p

Anyways, I just beat Liza and Tate, and as of this point my team is:

Magnezone Lv 57
Roserade Lv 57
Flygon Lv 58
Gallade Lv 58
Milotic Lv 58
Swampert Lv 60

It's okay if you're overleveled a bit, Zex.

Steven is definitely a challenge, even with loaner Pokes from X/Y.

Well, his Metagross is [for a Level 72 Espy at the time; definitely will be harder in the rematches].

(You should be able to tame Groudon/Kyogre with the team you have now though; rival teams shouldn't be too difficult)
