LordCowCowCowCowCowCowCowCow
Good thing I had some salt left over from earlier, I'm also calling BS on this. On a completely different note, just like BW2, there is a non-canon anime short for ORAS https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eju1zieC5rM#t=178 Aww I didn't notice this, I was gonna post it when I found out, darn you. Anyway, I love these, I so wish they had ACTUALLY made these into full shows. But that's a different topic. It got me even more excited though. I still am not sure which version to get, seeing as I don't know the differences in them.

Flash Flyer - Sakura
Yeah, we know the ORAS hype is getting stronger; as it nears Nov 21st. As for the special, I enjoyed it (even though it wasn't as epic as the B2W2 one, but it showed all of the new Megas). So yeah, no Flygon or other stuff. Maybe in Gen 7 or whenever XY gets their remake (or 3rd version; if any). Still upset at some of their designs, but overall looking forward to it. (Just preparing stuff in W2/X to transfer over into ORAS)

As such, going to hope Mawile is still in OR.
~British Soul~
As the hype gets stronger as it nears Nov 21st, I'm just sitting here having to wait a further week. Pchi
Hey, guys, did you see the IGN review for ORAS? http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/11/18/pokemon-alpha-sapphire-and-omega-ruby-review MAGMA INTENSIFIES
The Warden
Too many HMs, so I guess they're set back to the usual 8 then.
evilfusion
Apparently 7 HMs. Flash isn't an HM. So it'll be Cut, Fly, Strength, Surf, Dive, Waterfall, and Rock Smash. I dunno, I read the review and 7.8 seems INCREDIBLY low. And they could probably review by saying "the game was shit" and I'd still buy it. Flame Dragon
7.8. Same score they gave AC: Unity. And to be fair, I at least GET the water issue since the whole "dated hold overs" would address that. But like, their two points for negatives of "too much water" and "too many HMs" are minor issues with the game. Like, you could at least say something more in your tl;dr review to explain the score. And how the hell is too many HMs an issue? That you need to put them on a pokemon and they are hard to remove? Surf and Waterfall are good moves and Strength isn't horrible. You don't really need Rock Smash (that shouldn't be an HM though) or Cut. You don't need Fly (and Fly isn't a horrible move anyway). Dive is the only one to take issue with, but thats only needed for a small % of the game.
LordCowCowCowCowCowCowCowCow
Yeah that seems like a silly low score to be honest...HMs are a pain but it's not too bad. Especially as Linoone can learn most of them itself. So, just ordered AS, so excited, so happy, oh my gosh.

Kazooie
IGN is stupidly biased against Nintendo games a lot of the time, so the fact that it's a REMAKE and popular are probably why they took those points off and they don't want to admit that it really should be more like a 9.5~ score. I dunno, IGN just doesn't strike me as a particularly fair reviewer when it comes to Nintendo games.
goddamnit names are a pain
I stumbled across the article and laughed so damn hard. 7.8 is a bit low but I don't think it'll be much above an 8.5, that could just be me. IGN is shit with reviews, shit with information, and shit with just about everything else with games in my experience. I agree that HMs start becoming a real pain in the ass, bar Surf and maybe Strength. >Honedge needs to learn how to cut saplings >cannot walk around saplings >cannot just hop on a flying pokemon >has to teach flying pokemon how to fly >pokemon know how to smash other pokemon but not rocks Ok, so it's largely cut. So uh, I'm actually probably going to get this game now. Now to decide which legends I want more...
evilfusion
I don't really take reviews remotely serious anyway. At the end of the day, it's still a Gen VI Pokemon game.
Maeriberii Haan
Reviews are useful if you have no idea about what to expect. But this is pokemon so yeah.
Thar
Can't believe it's only like 2 days away, along with Smash.
Flame Dragon
Having two games I really want come out on the same day SUCKS. I don't exactly have the money for them both and I certainly don't want to divide my time. Going with ORAS so as to get more value out of the 3DS version of Smash. Also, I enjoy pokemon journeys. Thar
I invested in a Wii-U for a number of oncoming titles, but Smash was the real kicker. Pokemon was the kicker for the 3DS.

~British Soul~
I saw the IGN review, but I didn't think it was worth the rating it got tbh. I simply found the "Too much water" comment pretty laughable. As for the HM thing, mainly Rock Smash. I just don't see why that couldn't have stayed a TM like it was in XY. I'm not getting hyped till next week.
LordCowCowCowCowCowCowCowCow
Oh that is one thing though. Playing Emerald I did have a bit of an issue with the water routes. I seem to be the only one though. But I feel it will be different in this game, because of the graphics, it'll be a lot more fun for me exploring it. No, most people aren't a huge fan of the giant mass of water that is the 3rd gen. But, saying that the game has "too much water" isn't much of a thing since everyone knew this would be the case. Just saying "suffers from hold overs of the gen" would have been enough to summarize both that and the HM issue.
-Berserker-
If I remember, Hoenn is 50% land and 50 % water, going with it's theme. If they added a couple new islands, it's understandable that they added more sea.
