Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire

Phantom Roxas

Digging here, but:

Well, that's one way for Pidgeot to not be overshadowed by Staraptor.

Need a ton of new moves tho.

I mean all it needs is Hurricane Spam. If you forget about whatever Move Tutor or other stuff it may get that we're not expecting, its moveset's likely to be something like:

Hurricane
Roost
Heat Wave/Something Else
Defog/Protect/Tailwind/Whirlwind

Wait, you can basically make it Special Talonflame w/o prio lawl

Hmm, I hope they give it Focus Blast. In that case replace the last move with it and it can be amazing.

Also Ice/Rock would be cool for Glalie.

One of the best typings Ice could have, defensively, is Ice/Poison. 5 resistances. 5 weaknesses.

The Problem?

Resistant to Poison, Bug, Ice, Grass, and Fairies. Weak to Ground, Rock, Steel, Fire, and Psychic.

Resistant to things that likely wouldn't kill it and weak to basically all of the most common attack types in the game.

Yeah, that's pretty terrible.

Also here's some cool info from someone who's played the demo. Same info, but he gets more in depth on stuff:

kinda came with the package by being resistant to only itself and weak to 2 very common types and 1 semi common type thanks to fairies.

You mean 3 very common types. Fire, Rock and Fighting moves are all common among the movepool of many a sweeper in competitive play, even if the first two don't have that many representatives among the highest ranks.

While its typing may not help it at rising through Smogon or VGC ranks, at least they had the decency of making M-Glalie a purely offensive mon, even boosting its Spd to an acceptable value, instead of wasting all the extra points with its defenses like many expected. Ideally, Ice, like Fire, should be assigned primarily for sweepers, not tanks, and GF should've realized it a long time ago; its one of the best STABs out there.

Giving Ice more resistances might be helpful, but the matter is what types would aesthetically make sense for Ice to block.

Normal doesn't really make much sense; can probably see why you'd say Water (with consideration that ice is essentially frozen water).

I would say Grass or something, considering that Ice is technically super effective over it. You could have it block Bug types if you wanted; since most insects are cold-blooded (if that makes any sense in Pokemon to emulate).

Anything but Grass or Bug. Those two are tied the WORSE offensive types. Fire, Poison, Steel, Flying, Dragon, Grass, and Bug all resist Grass while Fire, Poison, Steel, Flying, Fairy, Ghost, and Fighting . Sadly, only water really makes sense as an additional type for them to resist. If another type should just get added on after that my vote is for Ground or Fairy.

Not only that, but both are weak to Fire, Flying and Poison, AND, Grass is weak to Ice and Bug as well.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why the Grass starter is usually the worst one to pick.

Bug's not being a good type is offset somewhat by having amazing mons, though they are kinda still underpowered yeah especially with SR.

Despite its many weaknesses, Grass is an amazing defensive type. Resistance to Water, Ground, Electric is pretty frigging good, especially since those are not covered by Steel. And most grass types gets their type's top-tier support moves too, which is pretty potent. Not the best type by all means, but it's far from bad.

Got the Demo, safe to say the staff in GAME were useless. Didn't even tell me where to get the code (thank god for Serebii) all they told me was to go onto the store when infact I needed to go to Nintendo Zone to get the code and then redeem in the Nintendo Shop. Oh and no Gengar either. Complained on twitter about both points.

As for the demo now I finally downloaded it. Sneak is weird. Atleast I can say I've got a Mega Glalie ready for ORAS.

[spoiler=Demo details from Serebii: ]

Steelix is exclusive to Japan, South Korea, Australia and Europe get Glalie.

Once you have captured the Pokémon, the first part of the demo ends, but you can go on more adventures with Steven to a variety of different island layouts and you receive the other two starter evolutions. These islands then have various tasks such as find a Pokémon, find a lost child or battle all the trainers. These change with each playthrough. After you finish the task, the demo will end again and something will change. On the 5th and 10th adventures, you will face up against an Elder with a more powerful team. You will either receive an item gift, or a new person can be found in Mossdeep City such as Gym Leaders like Flannery and Wattson, or other random NPCs including a swimmer who swam all the way from the Kalos region.

This works up to the 10th time, where you can continue to go on new adventures, but you'll no longer receive any bonuses for completion. Experience on the Pokémon resets after each adventure

This demo is rather unique in that it will allow you to transfer aspects of the demo to the main Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire games once purchased. This is done through the Pokémon Link feature of the games.

The demo will allow you to send over any items that you have collected throughout the playing of the demo, as well as the special Mega Evolved Pokémon that is encountered within this demo!
