Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire

Phantom Roxas

Recommended Posts

I was really hopeful about all the Legendaries being available, but it appears that there's a distinction between Legendary and Mythical Pokemon. And Mythicals are the event-only Legends. Like Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, Deoxys, Darkrai, Shaymin, Arceus, etc.

Which wounds my hopes that we'll get more releases for those unbelievably rare Pokemon in-game. Still, being able to get all the Legendaries within X/Y/OR/AS is awesome. X/Y gave us the Gen I birds and Mewtwo, plus the Gen VI legends (obviously). OR/AS is almost certain to give us the Regi Trio, the Latis, and the weather Trio. Since we're getting the Regi trio, we'll probably be able to get Regigigas.

I agree. Something like Dynamic Punch out of nowhere would be sweet.

Also I find funny how Pidgeot had to become a Mega to no longer be overshadowed by the rest of the bird Pokemon out there. Wasn't it outclassed even by Fearow, which is from the same generation?

And Mega Beedril + Adaptability is awesome.

Yeah, even Fearow outclassed it due to a slightly higher Attack and speed at the time.

Also because Fearow is also easier to evolve into final form, but whatever.

Pidgeot will need a significant boost to abuse its special movepool, because base 70 isn't really doing much. Push it to 110-120ish and it'll be able to do something.

Think I said plenty about the Mega Eons, so won't elaborate on it further.

Well I am pretty sure both these Megas will get a pretty high stat buff seeing as how low their stats are. Pidgeot should get a large Special Attack buff, and a smaller Speed buff.

Giving it Focus Miss is a perfect idea.

Hurricane and that would be great with No Guard. As for Stone Edge, technically it's already a good chance of hitting so no reason to stay in on something with it.

Unless of course it's not Scarfed or faster, if Pidgeot gets Focus Blast, then no need to worry about Rock types really.

But really, I completely love Mega Beedrill's design. I liked Beedrill for a long time. And this design just is so amazing looking. Best looking Mega in my opinion.

Though I still like Mawile more.

But the Stone Edge thing makes me want to bring this up.

I always here this line "Stone Edge always misses for me and always hits for the opponent." And then hundreds of people agree. But that makes no sense, seeing as if it's missing for everyone it can't always hit for opponents. (I know sometimes they mean computer but they say this for player battles too. Plus computer trainers don't use Stone Edge often.)

@Cow:

Stone Edge has a 80% chance of hitting, but yeah it does have the tendency to miss more than that; which might give the impression its accuracy is much lower.

Could be luck or something. I don't recall trainers in Battle Institute X/Y using Stone Edge; they probably do. (I remember PBR opponents did it a few times; CPU)

Rock Slide is sometimes used; it's somewhat weaker but still hits relatively hard, can flinch last time I checked and better accuracy. Stone Edge is still better for its raw power and increased crit rate.

Then again, most Rock types are slow; save for Terrakion / Aerodactyl / Archeops, so Mega Pidgeot should be fine if it gets Focus Blast (and No Guard helps b/c 70% accuracy really sucks on a normal basis). It should be able to outrun most of the Rock types that threaten it before it gets shot down.

I realize what I dislike about MegaBee's design now.

It looks like an edited version of what Male Combee should become, considering Vespiquen... not Beedrill =x

EDIT: Also, Shiftry is in the pic with MegaBeedrill. So that's that.

Really? I honestly thought it looked perfect for Beedril, I don't get Combee at all. If Combee evolved into that I would've been thoroughly confused.

As for Shiftry, I think it could just be because of the fact that a Bug move from Beedrill on Shiftry will wreck it. basically showing off it's power.

No one referenced it yet? Ok...

Apparently it was rumored Mega Beedrill was Dragon/Poison, which seems pretty promising for lethal damage. It was something no one ever expected, but Beedrill's mega design looks awesome. Same with Mega Pidgeot. I could imagine just Hurricane spam would do but I think I would expect more ability for both of them to learn more fitting mega offense moves.

You haven't been to the TPP subreddit, have you? They've been having a field day with the reveal of "MEGA BIRD JESUS"

I saw the HYPE on the TPP facebook page, but I was talking about people on here not mentioning TPP with Mega Pidgeot's reveal.

EDIT: Two new scans have surfaced.

Edit @ 01:45: Two more images have surfaced. One showcasing the first Mega Rayquaza, showcasing all the information we got on it last week. The second introduces the new PokéNav called the MultiNavi. It has four settings: MapNavi, TVNavi, PlayNavi which includes features like Pokémon Amie and the GTS and DexNavi which helps you find Pokémon in the wild and register them in your Pokédex.

And they keep putting out Megas of Pokemon I would have never expected. Anyway, HOLY HELL, Mega Beedrill has one of my favorite pokemon designs period. Thing looks AMAZING. Pidgeot is cool. Its one of my friends favorite pokemon so they were VERY happy to see it.

If they have to give any Fighting-Type move to Pidgeot, it should be Focus Blast, considering it will play the role of a Special Sweeper.

I'd be very happy with that.

Rock Slide is a TM too.

Also, no references to TPPR yet? That's an academic record.

I thought about it when I first saw it. Bird Jesus has leveled up to God.

I should also point out that Mega Pidgeot gets fucked over by anything with low accurracy but high power.

Pretty sure Hurricane spam loses to Thunder spam.

Good thing no one uses Thunder. Seriously though, Thunder isn't much of an issue since it sees VERY little use. Not to mention this will likely be useable in RU. Its cool that its getting it, but not going to do much for it. Same goes for the bee, but dear lord, that thing has such an amazing design I'm snap breeding it once we have an idea how it should be raised.

Stone Edge tho.

As said earlier, people play assuming Stone Edge will hit. So it being locked into hitting doesn't really change how you play.

I'm just saying that Stone Edge would be a far more relevant issue than Thunder

but once again, can't see any reason for Pidgeot to stay in at anything.

Thing's pretty frail, unless a defense buff.

I know. The issue is that Stone Edge would always be an issue, going from 80% to 100% doesn't change anything.

Like I said, this will be used in RU. I don't see it making it further than that. Its still cool since I know at least 1 person that loves Pidgeot.

I would say RU to UU as potential tiers for its Mega, depending on what it gets in regards to stat boosts and movepool.

But that's better for it than being condemned to NU for its entire career.

Don't really care about the TPP fad, so no comment there.

Last time I checked, the hype for Flygon to get a Mega Evo is still going around here. Think Gamefreak will make it, or they're skipping over because Salamence already got one, and it's more or less stronger?
