Flash Flyer - Sakura
That actually would be really cool. Something like Guard Break. It could also nullify Reflect and Light Screen. Like Feint and Brick Break made into an ability. Technically, Infiltrator exists to get around Protect and stuff, but a combination ability that can break screens/Protect/Detect would've worked well on Mega Gallade. As for the notion of Tough Claws, that could've worked as well. Won't say anything about Rayquaza getting a Mega/Primal; probably makes sense if it does, considering the other two already got them. Cin
I just hope you don't have to go for more or less the whole game to open up Megas. We all remember how far Rayquaza was in the original games... Are we still getting Boutiques?
~British Soul~
I was originally hoping we'd get the Battle Frontier in ORAS, but I'm beginning to think that we won't tbh. I just hope you don't have to go for more or less the whole game to open up Megas. We all remember how far Rayquaza was in the original games... I remember we had to defeat the E4 before we had access to it, if that's the case again... just like most of the Mega Stones...
Flash Flyer - Sakura
Are we still getting Boutiques? Hopefully we do. It's not Kalos, where it's fashion all the way, but they might throw in one or two stores in some of the cities so we can change outfits. If they do, I would assume the Pokecenters will have a changing room or something. We'll find out whether or not we'll get them in the coming weeks. The Warden
If we get a Boutique, they'll probably let us cycle between the Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald headbands/bandannas.
Master Hyperion
http://www.pokemonrubysapphire.com/en-us/pokemon/legendary-pokemon/primal-kyogre New info about their Primal abilities: The Primordial Sea Ability, which only Primal Kyogre has, changes the weather condition to an oppressive heavy rain. It is not possible to change the weather condition during heavy rain (leaving aside the efforts of an exceedingly small number of Pokémon). Features of the heavy rain condition: ・Grants the same effects to Pokémon and their moves as the rain brought about by the Drizzle Ability ・The moves Rain Dance, Sunny Day, Sandstorm, and Hail will fail ・The Abilities Drizzle, Drought, Sand Stream, and Snow Warning will fail to activate ・Fire-type attacks will become ineffective Normally, the Abilities Drizzle, Drought, Sand Stream, and Snow Warning all last for five turns after being activated, regardless of whether the Pokémon is still in battle or not, and then the weather returns to normal. Primordial Sea’s weather effects, however, will last as long as Primal Kyogre remains in battle. As soon as it is swapped out for another Pokémon, the weather immediately returns to normal. The Desolate Land Ability, which only Primal Groudon has, changes the weather condition to extremely harsh sunlight. It is not possible to change the weather condition during extremely harsh sunlight (leaving aside the efforts of an exceedingly small number of Pokémon). Features of the extremely harsh sunlight condition: ・Grants the same effects to Pokémon and their moves as the harsh sunlight brought about by the Drought Ability ・The moves Rain Dance, Sunny Day, Sandstorm, and Hail will fail ・The Abilities Drizzle, Drought, Sand Stream, and Snow Warning will fail to activate ・Water-type attacks will become ineffective Normally, the Abilities Drizzle, Drought, Sand Stream, and Snow Warning all last for five turns after being activated, regardless of whether the Pokémon is still in battle or not, and then the weather returns to normal. Desolate Land’s weather effects, however, will last as long as Primal Groudon remains in battle. As soon as it is swapped out for another Pokémon, the weather immediately returns to normal. Unless they boost its speed, Scarfed Kyorge still seems like the better option, but Primal Groudon being immune to its 4x weakness and having a reliably way to use Solarbeam for coverage is just amazing. evilfusion
Fascinating. Significantly more powerful Drought/Drizzle, but only as long as those Pokemon are out. Doubtless that Rayquaza or a Primal Rayquaza will be able to neutralize it. I assume Cloud Nine will also work.
Maeriberii Haan
So, I assume the normal weather war will happen if the two conflicting abilities are Desolate Land and Primordial Sea?
Darj
I was not really a fan of the rumored permanent weathers at first because they just nerfed the weather abilities with the 5-turn limit to balance them, and introducing perma weathers again would have been like taking a step back; but these weathers lasting only while the Pokemon is out is cool, and this mechanic keeps them on check. If they really wanted to push him for doubles, an ability that could let him hit through Protect and the like would have been SWEET. Kinda off-topic but now that you mention it, I wish the Ability Infiltrator did precisely this.
Aerion Brightflame
From the sounds of it, Primal Groundon sounds like it could be so awesome. Especially given how prevalent I think Kyogre is in Ubers. Now we just need to know the stat changes. And the new moves, which will probably be extremely potent. Fusion X. Denver
I'm pleased with their new abilities for all the reasons mentioned. But I think fizzling out water and fire respectively were also very nice touches that I wouldn't think to do. Awesomesauce.
evilfusion
And I assume the Gen VI mechanics of Legendaries having 2+ 31 IVs will make them even cooler. God, I'm getting excited again. No, bad emotions! Stay down until November.
Pchi
I hope we get Move Tutors for both Morning Sun and Moonlight. There are a lot of Fairy Pokémon who would kill to learn the latter, while the former would come in hand for defensively-oriented Fire Pokémon like M-Camerupt and Heatran. Also, the fact the new Primal Abilities only work while their respective legendary is out only serves to reinforce my previous theory that Game Freak wants to invest more in Doubles with ORAS - which is totally fitting since the original RS versions were the ones to officially introduce the concept to the franchise in the first place. LordCowCowCowCowCowCowCowCow
Seems like really fun abilities. Looks like Ubers will be a very crazy place weather-wise. I like it. Groudon gets a bit of a better boost, as it's actually weak to Water, while Kyogre resists Fire usually, but Kyogre is still going to be a threat. Trebuchet MS
Oh man, Heavy Rain giving Genesect, Ferrothorn, and Scizor a weakness-covering immunity in doubles, even though it'd be a Ubers-only situation by Smogon standards. [hand rubbing intensifies]

Agro
So uh... apparently, and I've only seen this in a few places, Mega Gallade's stat increases are only noted as Attack, and Speed.

Azuh
I know this has nothing to do with Ruby/Sapphire but I read up on this todayhttp://mynintendonews.com/2014/01/06/next-gen-pokemon-games-called-plus-and-minus/ Could be interesting. Most likely fake but would be pretty cool on how something like a Terminal system could work within the game

Odds are he gets more in the other stats, but those are just where the bulk of the points go. And if that's the case, he's gonna be OU even with Inner Focus. If he gets anywhere near +30-40 speed and any bit of attack boost (he's already at 125 atk), he's got the movepool to be a fairly good sweeper. Plus some bulk on the Special side. (though reg def is godawful...)
