Catman25 Posted May 8, 2014 Report Share Posted May 8, 2014 I like the general feel/atmosphere of this one. The right side looks like you got some clipping masks or something which is interesting. Main thing I notice though is the color, which is pretty monotone. I recognize the stock, if I recall correctly, there was some nice purple and other colors to work with, so don't be afraid to experiment with those. Lunar Origins Posted May 8, 2014 Author Report Share Posted May 8, 2014 I actually try to incorporate some form of clipping in everything I do, it makes everything mesh together a bit better. The color of this piece honestly looked a lot less screwed up monotone, as it was a pain in my ass trying to change the colors of his arm and the fractal/c4d around that area. .Rai Posted May 8, 2014 Report Share Posted May 8, 2014 If you're going to work in monotone palettes, you might want to add a third colour. Duotone can feel a little bit boring with more minimalistic tags, so working with more complex colour palettes often helps.The clipping is really well done though. It's a brilliant trick to unify elements in a tag, which is why your tag's got such a good atmosphere. Figuring out how to practise that and progress it would be great.
