Okay, thanks. I don't know if it's because I'm using an iPad or otherwise, but it doesn't seem to work.

You can still do it with an iPad. All you do is a Google search, click the image, and copy the image URL. Next, you go to change your avatar and there should be something saying you can post an image URL. You paste that image URL and click the button next to the upload space. When copying the image URL of your gif file, be weary of the photo size since YCM only supports a profile photo size of 100x100 pixels. Like Destinyexodia mentioned, iPad does not support gifs that are downloaded (saved to your camera roll).

As I said, check the photo size as YCM only allows a maximum of up to 100x100 pixels for a profile. If you really like the gif that's over that size, you can shrink it using this website, http://www.picresize.com/ .

Honestly you just upload a gif to the photo section of editing your profile. It's tricky though cause they generally have larger file sizes, so you might need to find a way to deal with that, but really, it's that simple. It's exactly the same as making your avatar anything else, only using a gif.
