Atari's ET

Saw these news and the legend the other day.

I'd first think I had just bumped into it, but turns out it's a hot topic these days on the internet.

Saw play-through videos and it does suck a lot. You are not given any indication of what your goal is and all consequences of getting trapped or killed is the tedious punishment of starting over again. Then the characters trying to catch you are like twice as fast and impervious to obstacles on the screen that WOULD slow you down, plus the holes that are a little off and tend to make you fall for no reason at times because you are sure you didn't step on it.

Though, considering the creator was given 4 weeks to get that done, I wouldn't put the blame on him, and I'd even say I feel sorry for him because this economic failure project ought to have looked bad on his future resumes.

I always thought the games were crushed into pieces and Buried in Concrete.... Is there other rubbish around to prove the games were indeed buried?

There was a report that they were excavated recently. However it is not exactly how the legend says.

It seems SOME copies were found, and weren't the only game in there. As opposed to the 5 million copies of pure ET in the legend.
