Laminated Wooden Fillet Desk (engineering)

Thar

Recommended Posts

An idea I had for a desk. I've always loved the look of laminated wood furniture, especially ones with curved features.

One thing I'm not so sure about is the stability of the chair. It has no support, but I figured there'd be some strength in the 3/4" thick wood depending on the type of wood used.

[spoiler=Anyway, take a look at these renders and tell me what you think:]

With regards to the bottom image...
You could make that back bar a little thicker. Assuming, of course, it could give it more support.

It doesn't look very thick, but it's the same thickness as the rest of the desk. Not sure if you meant regardless, but from what I understood, the back bar looks thinner than it appears.

Also, that's not very ergonomic for right-handers who will take the elbow on the right edge of the desk...  :/

The concept is to use that as an armrest, but otherwise I agree.

This next idea is my attempt at an ergonomic seat as well as an angled footrest.

Compared to the first one, which would you rather sit in?
