Discussing the Selfie Song (by the chainsmokers)

First of all, I`m pretty sure that someone already tried to discuss this, but I wanted to make a point too and I cant find other threads to post in, so Im making my own.

But anyways, lets start.

 

This song is a new (hit?) song that Ive heard several times on the radio now, and this is just me, but I dont get why so many people like it so much. The concept is kinda interesting (dont know what Im talking about? Listen to the song on YouTube or something), but dosent hold up well as a song. In fact I dont even thing it can be considered a real song. And before you say stuff like "d3fIn3 wh4t a "s0ng" is pl3z", music is something that is really hard to define in words. Usually you can tell music when you hear it, and this is just my poinion again, but I dont get the "music" part of it. Yeah, it`s meant for partie clubs (and stuff like that) but I dont go to those too often and I hear it on the radio sometimes when Im not at one so it dosent make much sense. Even Dark Horse is a better "song" than the Selfie song and Im sick of Dark Horse because its played so often on the radio.
