Rodrigo
Elspeth has a blade designed to KILL GODS. And she has a GOD she needs to KILL. And a very good reason to KILL a GOD. How is this not an obvious outcome? You clearly don't know MtG's past lores.
(GigaDrillBreaker)
MTG has a TERRIFYINGLY LARGE number of depressing endings. And Elspeth tends to be on the losing side. Also, this doesn't mean she will survive. It just means Xenagos gets wrecked.
.Rai
No, this was obvious. All of MtG's stories are obvious. Dramatic, but obvious. Where MtG's lore gets interesting is who they decide to kill off and bring back. I've been saying deicide for Xenagos pretty much since Theros. The monomyth is fairly prescriptive, so you can predict pretty much most of the story in Theros (plenty of people guessed Ajani would be here for the same reason). The real mystery is, now what? Xenagos /probably/ isn't dead. Godsend strips Nyx from things, i.e. Removes godhood. It doesn't necessarily kill, so Xenagos' fate is up in the air. Oh, the other mystery is whether Elspeth/Ajani dies, depending on how the monomyth is interpreted.
Trebuchet MS
Deicide vs Revoke Existence: Deicide is instant and Slaughter Games all instances of a God if it hits one. Revoke hits artifacts too. Barring some bizarre deck like Goat Control, Deicide wins out in Standard due to artifacts not being a strong issue yet. Oh, the other mystery is whether Elspeth/Ajani dies, depending on how the monomyth is interpreted. While I can't say if either of those two die, we know that at least 1 other character dies. Who it is is obvious if you read the first book and watched the panal. Deicide vs Revoke Existence: Deicide is instant and Slaughter Games all instances of a God if it hits one. Revoke hits artifacts too. Barring some bizarre deck like Goat Control, Deicide wins out in Standard due to artifacts not being a strong issue yet. We don't really have any important Artifacts in standard, so I'm just going to run Deicide.
Gokai-Red
This makes me think when was the last Time Elspeth Actually WON an important fight? Is this her First?
