Aix
An Original RP by Aix and Fandom Workshops Inc. Opening: Savior of Song Ending: The Everlasting Guilty Crown
Over one thousand years ago, the Alfar descended upon the Lesser Races. With their biological superiority and intellect, grand technological feats, mechs, and, most of all, their mastery over the metaphysical forces known as Spiral Power, they announced themselves to be the rightful rulers of the Universe and began a campaign of conquest. In the same way Man thought nothing of insects, the Alfar regarded the Lesser Races as strictly inferior lifeforms incapable of even properly governing themselves. In conquering them, they were doing the Lesser Races a favor, settling their disputes and helping them prosper. Their conquest over the Intergalactic Confederation would have been complete if not for a rebellion suddenly spawning one hundred years ago in the middle of the Alfar Empire’s ranks. An intelligent and influential young human Army officer had garnered connections and allies amongst the Empire’s Army itself. Creating a massive upheaval with the Empire’s Lesser Races troops, he commenced a devastating assault on the Empire from within. The Empire was forced to withdraw and pull back its lines. Now even a surprise attack from within would not have been enough if not for the aid of a certain genius military engineer. Reverse engineering a mysterious relic retrieved from an unassuming lifeless planet on a remote corner of the star maps, he was able to find the secrets to crafting the Eternal Flame, a nigh infinite energy source defying all laws of physics and allowing for unimaginable power output and the creation of numerous superweapons, thus matching the Alfar and their Spiral Power and even surpassing them. The war with the Empire now heads towards an end, and in a direction which no one had predicted. The Empire is being pushed back and is crumbling apart. Disputes opened even among the Alfar nobility and governing bodies, the entire structure of the Empire is falling apart. Where do you come into this, you ask? You are one of the Empire’s remaining troops. Rather, you are a cadet of Academy 9, yet still young, yet still in training, and but that all will change as your graduation day comes. You will dedicate your life and soul to serving your Admiral, Lonn Alfadir, a fellow student but also a member of Alfar royalty. In one way or another, you have already acquainted yourself with the Admiral. This RP dives from light-hearted at times to dead serious. There are themes in politics, government structures, ideologies and morality as well as the meaning of equality and justice.

If you intend to be in this RP, I would greatly appreciate it if you commented below what sort of character you wish to play, what race, and maybe even their ideologies, etc., so it is easier to adjust my plans to suit having your character in this RP. You must play at least one character who is a student of Academy 9 unless you ask me and I give you a go. This is a PG-16 RP, thus mild swearing, sexual content and crude jokes are acceptable in moderation, slight blood and gore can be expected. While this is animesque, I would not like chibis, exaggerations or any other silly things done in animation because they do not, in my opinion, translate well into a writing medium. All YCM rules apply, Advanced Clause is in full effect - no godmodding, powerplaying or metagaming, no copy-pasting characters from other RPs without fully adjusting them to suit this RP and all posts must be at least 4 lines long, though I will generally expect more. You are expected to put full effort into this RP, don’t be half-assed or I will have a word with you. Acceptance is unlimited, you may control up to 4 characters, possibly more if you ask, however, quality control is in full effect, I reserve the right to reject any app that comes my way that doesn’t seem much effort was put into it or if I find it unsuitable or unsatisfactory. After the RP starts, acceptance will only be allowed when and if it makes sense for a new character to be introduced. As your character is expected to already be relatively familiar and somewhat close enough to interact with the Admiral, you are free to insert yourself as anyone to the Admiral (i.e. best friend), but do refrain from being his love interest (you can have a crush on the Admiral though). RP Rewards are in effect, upon completion of this RP, I will distribute points equal to the number of posts in this RP times one thousand among the participants of this RP, and your share depends on how much you contributed to this RP. While I hope that you are active, I understand that things in life may come up, but please give me a notification beforehand if you are dropping out or on temporary leave. Should you drop out without good reason, you shall receive no share of the prizes. I demand that you read the Database. The Database is currently incomplete so to allow you to create your own races and factions, but will be constantly updated.

The Database is left incomplete to allow for further freedom of character creation. You will be allowed to create your own races, factions, historical events, and countries as long as nothing contradicts to what I have to say. If anything is unclear feel free to ask me to clarify. As this is animesque, please do not create a race that would be rather ugly by human standards.
Freya Alfadir, the Crown Princess of the Alfar Empire, is not only next in line for the throne but also the Empire's biggest pop idol, giving the royalty popularity not only as wise and august rulers but also public figures in pop culture. Not only popular in the Empire, she has a massive following in the Intergalactic Confederation as well to the point where some fans say to surrender to the Empire so that she can be their queen. Look in My Characters for more details. (Note, she will not be around for a major part of the RP) Siegfried Alfadir, Emperor of the Alfar Empire, and father to Freya Alfadir as well as the adoptive father of Admiral Lonn Alfadir. Known to be a rather complacent man and not one for drastic actions on the political scene, yet he is definitely capable, simply rather passive and inactive. He will not be particularly prominent in this RP. Casere Volsingr, Fleet Admiral of the Imperial Armies, Lonn's superior and the general overseer of the entire Imperial Fleet. He also leads his own fleet. Known to be a reformist and suspicions have it that he is sympathetic to the Federation causes thus tensions stir. It was him who introduced the new Fleet Academy system where all members of a Fleet are trained together under their Admiral. He also improved conditions for Lesser Races soldiers, improving their wages to be more than half of what an Alfar earns.

Spiral Power is an underlying force and law of the Universe, it is an infinitely complex algorithm that decides progress, namely evolution, but also the natural advancement of the Universe towards entropy. The algorithm, although comprised of an infinite number of energy patterns and nanostructures, ultimately manifests in the shape of a spiral of energy in its purest form, thus gaining it its name. Although omnipresent, uniquely the Alfar have the ability to call upon it and force its power upon objects and lifeforms, causing them to “advance”, adjusting their power and form, or even generate matter out of nothing by using its power on a concept or idea and materializing it. However, due to this being an unnatural flaw in the usual flow of Spiral Power, the Universe naturally denies it and will revert an object or being back to its proper form, in addition, due to the fact that the Spiral also embodies the cycle of life and death, any object or lifeform subject to Spiral Power too long shall begin to decompose at the molecular level. Only the Alfar have control over Spiral Power. Spiral Power has infinite applications when wielded because it is simply a force. However, mastery over Spiral Power cannot be taught, merely trained and even then natural talent and genetics play a huge role. Unlike TTGL, Spiral Power in this RP is very limited, objects have limits to how far they can be advanced before they start decomposing and only very few Alfar are able to create things out of nothing. When an object is “advanced” under the influence of Spiral Power, Spiral Power simply strengthens it, it does not change its composition or materials, but it may sharpen things, or change its form in making it bigger or more streamlined. However, it is very difficult to control how Spiral Power changes an object, for example, if you wanted to make a knife sharper, you may simply make a knife bigger because you lack the control to specify how an object is enhanced. On the other hand, lifeforms naturally have a way encoded which they are meant to advance, so it is easier to make them stronger.

Humans have not evolved at all, so they are the same as they are today. I don’t see what else you expect me to say, you know what a human is and there is a problem if you don’t. Most often, Humans are the foot soldiers and lowest ranking in Empire armies, but there are always exceptions.

Literally, Alfar equals elves, the Alfar have pointed ears and beautiful features. This is a race that has achieved the height of evolution and beyond, to the point where they possess control over the forces of evolution themselves. Their physical prowess is nigh unmatched and they have night vision and excellent hearing (grace to their pointed ears of course). Their blood is strangely blue, and have different tints from person to person. Most notable about them is the great inheritance of genetic traits from parent to child and the royalty are the most intelligent, most beautiful and most powerful of them all. However, the controllers of Spiral Power cannot have Spiral Power used upon them so they often depend on other races for some functions. This law also prevents them from directly translating the energy from Spiral Power into nourishment and thus they still require food. The Alfar’s home planet is unknown, but they come from a long distance away from the rest of the universe and established themselves on the planet Odin. Their native language, coincidentally, is English, however there are slight differences, as if it were a different dialect. The Alfar have the same life expectancy as humans today.

Physical Appearance: The Kal'dar are humanoid in form, and typically stand anywhere between six and seven feet tall (183 to 214 cm). Their frames are long and thin, with their arms and legs appearing to have little if any muscle upon their bones, and their torsos being remarkably thin as well. Their faces are quite gaunt and sharply formed, bearing eyes that glow in a variety of electric colors and ears which extend back over six inches behind their heads and end in sharp points. The skin of these creatures is most often a metallic silver, though other metallic colors are not unheard of among their ranks. Hair color is where the greatest variation is found, and just about every color under the billions of suns in the galaxy can be seen upon them. Effectively, this makes them appear to be a taller, thinner, and more darkly colored version of the Alfar. Upon reaching maturity, an individual of this race will grow a second pair of arms just beneath the first which are every bit as long as their predecessors. When an individual reaches a truly venerable age, at least three centuries, they will develop a third and final pair of arms to match those already upon them. Often as an individual grows older, a greater number of personalized glowing patterns will appear across their bodies. These markings will glow the same color as the individual's eyes, and will normally only have meaning to them. Anatomy: The Kal'dar are, in fact, something which baffles the crushing majority of scientists in the world. Somehow, this species came about as a mutualistic combination of Organic and Synthetic, also known as mechanical, life. This combination is so complete that their cells are in fact half mechanical, an esoteric combination of living tissue and nanomachine. Because of this, the species is highly adaptable and each individual can alter their own body to better fit the current conditions they are in; whether this be increasing the rate at which their body heat is vented to allow them to function more efficiently in hot climates or altering their digestive systems to allow for consumption of nutrients through normally inedible substances. This, expectedly, makes the Kal'dar highly resilient and thus exceptional at living off the land wherever this land may be. As far as organs, they appear to have a similar internal structure to other humanoid lifeforms in the galaxy with the exception that they have a high natural rate of regeneration and thus do not normally need medical care. Society and Culture: Socially, the Kal'dar are organized into a system of castes which denote the path one will take in life. When they first enter the pubescent stage of their life, each individual is tested for their ability and their passion to determine what sort of role they will ultimately have in their species. No role is considered greater than any other, and rewards are given based upon how well an individual performs in their own specific role. This does in fact mean that the Ruling Caste is not seen as any greater than the Laboring Caste. However, there are those that for whatever reason have no caste at all. This can be for any number of reasons, but is most often the result of their failing at a grievously important task or else committing some sort of heinous crime. These "casteless" as they are called are considered to not even be members of the species, are used as little more than slaves or forced labor, and are immediately recognizable by the harsh green brands upon their faces. One can petition to earn their way back into a caste, and should they manage to do so their brands are removed and once more they are treated as any other member of the species. The castes are as follows: Ruling, Noble, Knight, Military, Medical, Police, Merchant, Artisan, Laboring, and finally the Casteless. Technology: As one would expect, the Kal'dar are a highly advanced race so far as technology is concerned, though perhaps the most notable is their equivalent of Mechas. Rather than the traditional robotic suits of armor wielded by other races, the Kal'dar produce things much like themselves on a large scale. Admittedly, the comparison is not perfect as towards the exterior the armored suits into which the Knight Caste embarks to wage war lack a consciousness of their own and produce a hard exoskeleton similar to the armor on normal mechs. From the exterior, one would never recognize these as any different from a typical mecha. Additionally, another notable feature of Kal'dar technology is their single greatest secret: each and every one of them, save the Casteless, is capable of connecting to a species-wide communications network which grants them the ability to speak to one another at the speed of thought. So far they have managed to keep this ability hidden form both the Empire and the Federation, but only time will tell. Allegiance: The Kal'dar are divided evenly as a species between the Empire and the Confederation, as no agreement can be reached between them as to who they ought to support in the war and so each simply chooses to fight for whichever faction they agree most with the ideals of. However there is an agreement between each and every one of them: no Kal'dar shall ever slay one of their own on the field of battle.

Creation of the Eternal Flame is a closely guarded secret because the Intergalactic Federation knows that it is the only edge that they have over the Alfar. The Eternal Flame takes the form of a literal green flame, but with incredibly heat and intensity. They are set to self-destruct if a ship carrying one is captured and burn themselves out and any apparatus they are involved with without trace. The Eternal Flame is a very expensive technology as the materials required in its creation are very rare.

What the term "superweapon" most commonly refer to are powerful laser weapons capable of blasting holes in fleets. Originally, such weapons were only possible on land where powerful generators would provide the energy to fire such a cannon, but with the invention of the Eternal Flame, Confederation fleets were able to carry such weapons aboard larger flagships.

If you took notice of the genre tags, this is indeed a mecha RP. You are not required to be a mech pilot, but mecha do play a big role in this RP, and have a variety of uses. Compared to ships, mecha are slow and are thus used in close combat engagements or any mission that requires stealth, agility, or finesse. Mecha are by no means bulky or unwieldy. Technology has progressed that mecha are now capable of great acrobatic feats with a skilled pilot. Various guns are on a mech pointing in every direction while a mech’s arms are used for carrying large weapons. Mecha when in outer-space combat are equipped with boosters on their feet which do require great skill and coordination to properly use. There are special, very small and fast mecha called Valkyries by the Alfar and are used in scouting missions as well as retrieval of the injured.

Spaceships are large and streamline in design, with powerful turrets. They are streamline because it decreases the exposure to the enemy, I am fully aware streamline is not required in space where there is no air resistance. Ships are also capable of warping.

Warping is actually the folding of spacetime thus closing the distance required to travel. This allows millions of lightyears to be travelled in the matter of weeks. Inside the spacetime fold, time flows much slower thus you only feel a few hours have passed when really weeks have. The requirements of a warp path is that there is no matter in its path and minimal gravitational interference.

Imperial Fleet Uniform: http://i.imgur.com/B5Jj9IJ.jpg In recent years, it has been habitual to train entire Imperial Fleets together as Academies. You are a student of Academy 9. In the Academy System, while students may enter at different times and some may complete their training early to move onto being teacher's assistants or going onto further training, the entire Academy graduates together. A single fleet consists of one thousand warships manned by approximately fifty thousand people, from ship operators to mech pilots. In recent years, entire fleets have been trained together to maximize chemistry and coordination. There are many roles to be filled in a Space Fleet, first of all there are the officers, commanders of their ships, or commanders of squadrons, with the Admiral at the very top leading the entire fleet. There are the ship operators, who pilot the ships and also fire the ship guns and there are the mech pilots who go in close to deal damage directly to enemy fleets. There are also the medics and Valkyrie pilots at the very back who retrieve the injured as well as salvage important weapons, but these are few in number. Each ship has its own medic, but mostly to take care in case an officer gets hurt.

The Empire is a technocratic/meritocratic state combined with an absolute monarchy and aristocracy. It relies on the natural genetics of the Alfar race to produce capable leaders, scientists and etc. As nobility naturally have superior genes amongst the Alfar, the system is both meritocratic and aristocratic. Due to the large spanning of the Empire, communications are slow and thus the aristocracy are left to govern their own planets while abiding the Empire’s laws and paying taxes. Alfar naturally take all government functions while the Lesser Races live in a somewhat capitalist society, having to fend for themselves. There is no welfare provided, but social services do help greatly with education and employment. There is free education up to high school. The Capital of the Empire is the planet Odin.
The Empire has always resided beneath the Alfadir Dynasty and the current head is the Emperor Siegfried Alfadir.

The Darwinist Faction is a group of nobility who believe that the weak should be culled from society in a survival of the fittest type of thinking.

The Intergalactic Federation is a mass democracy and congregation of all the races of the known Universe. The system is a combination of capitalism and socialism as ours is today. It can be highly dysfunctional due to the fact that it is responsible for the fates of over fifty billion sentient beings and conflicts are seldom resolved in due time due to democracy and bureaucracy being naturally a very slow process and communications being slow when needing to cross over millions of light years. Corruption is present, but not currently, fortunately, overbearing. Great emphasis is placed on equality of all races and sentient rights. Poverty is a great problem as war takes a massive toll on the populace. Taxes are heavy to cover war expenses and the officials look forward to the war’s end to start reforming their nation. The Capital of the Federation is on planet Jupiter (not the gas giant in our solar system).

A purely capitalist and plutocratic organization, it consists of an alliance between five large conglomerates. Exceedingly rich, they are the ones benefiting the most from this war as both sides have no choice but to also rely on the Mercantile Union for production of weapons and ships.

In my haste, I may have forgotten to fully change things in the above spoilers, so to get the full picture of how things roll, read the following spoiler please. It covers almost everything. Please notify me if you have any questions.
Due to the astronomical distances that armies must cover, where even warp speed is insufficient, warfare has returned to a very similar state to ancient days where communications were difficult and reinforcements could not arrive immediately, but rather would take weeks or even months and you would have to hold out on your own. Rather than a higher authority, decisions are made by the Admiral for the Imperial Fleet or the Council of Officers of the Intergalactic Confederation's armies. Warping is a dangerous process and can easily be detected within a very large radius by the enemy thus the warp destination must always be hidden so that the enemy cannot create a warp interference and instantly destroy warping ships. Warships, while massive from the perspective of man, averaging around 300 meters, are tiny against the boundless expanse of space. They are streamlined in shape and when facing forwards are small armoured targets spread across vast battlefields. Accuracy, across the great distances which fleet battles tend to engage in, is low and even machine-aided targeting cannot hope to properly hit a ship's weak spots, though through sheer amount of fire power, quite a few lucky hits may land, but it is very slow. Because of such inefficiency, mechs are employed to go in up close and deal direct damage to enemy ships' hulls as well as defend against enemy mechs, their manoeuvrability and unpredictable movements letting them approach without facing destruction. When flanked, however, a fleet faces imminent destruction as the long shape of the ships now present a sizeable surface for which enemy artillery may land hits. Shells are most common ammunition for a ship's attack as, while they are expensive, they require much less energy to fire in comparison to electromagnetic (laser) weapons. Flagships are the most powerful of ships in a fleet in terms of both armour and firepower. They are highly expensive to produce and numerous ordinary warships would be a much better investment in terms of money and strength. However, they carry an armies' most important people and thus are necessary in protecting the officers. The Confederation Flagships also carry the Eternal Flame and are thus capable of hosting superweaponry. Massive beams of energy can be charged up and fired, blasting large holes in enemy lines and decimating the enemy fleets. As the Eternal Flame requires rare materials to produce, their creation is fortunately limited. The Confederation has also made use of small, compact and heavily armoured artillery ships to special carry Eternal Flame weaponry.

The Aves is a marvel of modern technology. Lighter and faster than any previous Valkyrie, the Aves is nonetheless more heavily armored and armed than its predecessors. Being a Valkyrie, the Aves is designed as both a combat and a recovery machine, and it performs both of these roles rather well. Despite this, its still a small Valkyrie unit, and as a result it isn't designed to take a great deal of punishment. As such, it is advised that Valkyrie pilots stay out of any engagements until they see an opening to accomplish their objectives. When outfitted for a combat role, the Aves is equipped with a few different weapon systems. The first of these is the ion blade mounted on its right arm. The Ion blade is a solid blade which runs a very strong electric current through itself when unfolded, allowing the Aves to deal massive amounts of internal damage to an enemy mech provided the blade can pierce the target's armor. Successful attacks from the ion blade have been known to cause entire limbs on enemy mecha to become nothing more than dead weight, and groups of Aves units have even been able to entirely disable an enemy mech. On its left arm is a buckler shield which, while providing little defense, mounts a laser gun on its underside which is capable of dealing a respectable amount of damage for a weapon its size. The Aves also comes equipped with two heat katars for supplemental melee combat and anti-personnel actions. there is one stored on each hip in a holster. When outfitted for mid-battle repair and personnel retrieval, the Ave's Ion blade is replaced by a large, rectangular pod capable of carrying and stabilizing up to three seperate battlefield casualties. as well, its katars are replaced by MRDs (Mobile Repair Droids) that, when activated, maneuver independently of the Aves and automatically conduct repairs on a designated allied machine. It retains its buckler shield and laser gun in both configurations. As well, its hands are capable of very delicate work, and skilled pilots have been known to be able to even suture wounds with the large mechanical hands of an Aves. The Aves excels at its recovery and repair roles, and is a large part of the reason that Imperial casualties have become rather low, even in the many recent losing engagements. As well, its combat configuration has proved to be an excellent supplement to the Empire's mech forces. Despite this, its light and maneuverable construction make the Aves extremely vulnerable to attack, and casualties among Valkyrie squadrons are often high as a result.

Recently introduced to supplement the aging Beowulf MK-I, The MK-II version is much better equipped to handle the powerful mech units of the Federation while still packing enough firepower to target enemy ships. Designed with a much heavier animalistic aesthetic than its predecessor, the Beowulf MK-II casts an intimidating shadow over the battlefield. Its weapons pack a heavy punch too. However, the Beowulf is not without its disadvantages. For starters, its on its backpack for most of its maneuverability and thrust power (the only other non-attitude thrusters on the machine are in its feet, and all of its stabilizers are located in the backpack). This means that, should its backpack be destroyed, the Beowulf will become almost immobile and very vulnerable. As well, its animal appearance is indeed intimidating, but it also makes its silhouette very easy tot target. Also, despite its bulk, its armor isn't as thick as its federation counterpart: the Mars, although this does make it faster than the heavier federation machine. The Beowulf's Weapons systems are few, but powerful. Although it's able to hold and interface with any handheld weapon manufactured by the empire (and its almost always equipped with a hand held railrifle), all of its stock weapons are mounted in the frame itself. The Beowulf's main weapons are the twin linked Laser cannons inside its shoulders. These cannons are powerful enough to damage ships, and can take out a mech with a direct hit. The downside to this is that both cannons are fire-linked, and must be fired at the same time. as well, they take about 0.5 seconds to charge before firing, and so their rate of fire is abysmally slow. They are best used as an anti-ship weapon. The Beowulf also mounts a medium Gatling gun in each of its forearms, which is extremely useful for hitting fast moving targets (like the federation minerva) as well as for taking down incoming missiles. When not in use, the Gatling guns are folded into the arm's armor plating. Lastly, the Beowulf mounts two laser blades stored in its skirt armor plates for melee combat. The Beowulf is indeed an improvement over the older MK-I, however its introduction has done little to stem the tide of the empire's decline. It's not equipped to handle the heavy anti-mech weapons on the federation's newest third generation machines, and as a result has trouble punching through enemy formations to take out enemy ships. Even with the reduced casualties resulting from the introduction of the newer Aves Valkyrie, its clear that the empire is in need of a more competitive design. Still, the Beowulf is quite effective in defensive and fire-support actions when using its laser cannons, and as a result the empire is still producing it in vast quantities.

The more common variety of mech fielded by the Federation is the Minerva. A third generation machine, the Minerva is designed primarily to combat enemy mecha. As the first mech designed after the imperial Valkyrie was widely introduced, an emphasis was put on the Minerva's speed and maneuverability in order for it to attempt to keep up with and destroy the empire's casualty reducing Valkyries, as well as out maneuver enemy full-sized mechs. To do this, its frame has been designed to reduce mass and increase speed and acceleration at the cost of its armor, which is decidedly less heavy than its predecessors', or its brother unit: Mars. This makes the Minerva extremely susceptible to sustained fire, and it therefore has to rely on its high speed and maneuverability to avoid damage. For weapons, the Minerva comes equipped with four missile launchers mounted in its shoulders/wing assembly, as well as two unique, variable weapons systems. The first is the grappler shield mounted on the right arm. While solid shields are largely useless to mechs, the Minerva's Grappler shield is unique in that its primary function is as a melee weapon. The two blades mounted on the front end are able to extend outwards and function as a pincer weapon. As well, a light laser Gatling gun is mounted within the shield, between the pincer blades, and is excellent for both eating away at a grappled enemy's armor and shooting down incoming missiles. The second, and by far the most deadly weapon on the Minerva, is its hand-carried Driver Lance. In its normal mode, the Driver lance acts as a piercing melee weapon. once it punctures enemy armor, however, a large piston mounted on the lances hilt thrusts the entirety of the weapon's blade through the enemy similar to a giant pile driver. This attack is often aimed at an enemy cockpit, and as a result this weapon is feared by imperial pilots for the painful and gory deaths it can cause. The Driver Lance also has a secondary mode in which it can be converted into a railgun for mid-to-long range combat. This conversion is near-instantaneous, and The Minerva can swap between driver lance modes mid-battle with ease. The driver lance also mounts a removable combat knife for emergencies, in case the Minerva is in need of a second melee weapon. In terms of its performance thus far in the war, the Minerva has proven itself time and again to be very effective against Imperial Mecha. Although it isn't able to outrun most modern Valkyries as it was intended to do, its still fast enough to flank and out maneuver most of the Empire's full-sized units, and its versatile weapons allow it to adapt to most combat situations, and its long-range armaments have proven to be quite deadly against lightly armed Valkyries, so its speed deficiency against them is offset. Of course, its light armor has made it equally infamous among federation pilots, since Minerva casualties in large engagements tend to be quite high, especially when the empire fields higher-end models that can out-maneuver it.

The Mars is the less common standard mech found within the Federation's ranks. Usually reserved for higher ranking pilots (although officers tend to operate their own custom machines), the Mars lives up to its namesake, and is feared throughout the galaxy for its raw power and its uncanny ability to decimate unprepared formations. Designed to target and destroy enemy ships with its heavy weapons, the Mars's equipment also lends itself quite well to destroying enemy full-sized mechs (although its a tad too slow to reliably target fast-moving Valkyries). As well, since its designed to take on ships as well as withstand enemy formations, its armor is a great degree thicker than its brother unit, Minerva.Like any mech, however, it will still fall to a large amount of sustained fire, although it is quite possibly the best armored production model in the galaxy. This armor makes it slower than a lot of its competition, however, and it is therefore more susceptible to enemy fire than other units might be. The Mars's weapons are frightening, to say the least. In addition to light vulcan guns mounted in its head (mostly used for shooting out enemy optics or taking down missiles), and two laser blades stored in its wing binders, it comes equipped with two heavy weapons systems. The first is its shield mounted on the left arm. As well as being thick enough to withstand a good deal of punishment, the shield also mounts two medium laser cannons within itself, which fold out of the top of the shield when firing. They are capable of doing a decent amount of damage to any ship they target, and are quite deadly anti-mech weapons. The sides of the shield are also bladed, and its front ends in a point, making the shield a useful melee weapon. However, the Mars's most powerful weapon is its Titan Blade: a variable weapons system similar to the Minerva's Driver Lance. The titan blade's primary function is as a giant laser blade emitter. This laser blade is nearly the height of the Mars itself, and is devastatingly effective at damaging the hulls of enemy ships. As well, it's quite useful for cleaving enemy mecha if they're slow enough to be caught by a swing of the very heavy weapon. The titan blade can, like the Driver lance, change into a ranged weapon and back mid-battle. Instead of a railgun, however, the titan blade converts to a heavy laser cannon, which is powerful enough to destroy an enemy mech with one direct hit, as well as do a great deal of damage to the hull of a capital ship. The Mars has consistently proven itself to be devastatingly effective against the empire, and is a major contributor to the current state of the war. Its power is offset by its high cost, however, and as a result Mars units are reserved for elite squads or commanding officers. Their powerful weapons make them difficult adversaries to fight against, and combined with the usual skill of Mars pilots, this makes the mech positively deadly. Still, its not without weaknesses. Its lack of conventional weaponry means that it becomes less effective against units with anti-energy coating (although the sheer power of its laser weapons offsets this somewhat), and its slow speed means that massed Valkyrie units are actually an effective counter against it, since it has difficulty taking down many small targets. Lastly, its still a mech, and as a result is quite susceptible to sustained fire, just like any other mech.

An older second generation machine created for use by the Mercantile Union's own private security forces, the TYPE-020 Viginti is nonetheless still quite capable of combating and defeating newer models. With firepower rivaling that of the newer Imperial Beowulf MK-II, and an innovative design, it was, at the time of its initial inception, considered one of the most powerful mechs ever put into mass production. By today's standards, it's certainly been outclassed by newer, high-end mecha such as the IF-ASM003 Mars, but it is still quite able to compete on the same level as current mainline units like the Beowulf MK-II and Minerva. What allows this machine to do so is a combination of its heavy firepower and its unique quadrupedal design, which allows it to both mount more thrusters on the frame for space combat and gives it an unparalleled advantage in terrestrial operations, especially on rough terrain where its four legs can be best put to use. As a side note, data gathered from this unit's construction and operation would subsequently be put to use in the Union's collaboration with both factions on the creation of newer third generation machines, for instance Imperial contractor Line Ark's LNRK-IX Silver Bullet. The Viginti's armaments are simple. Aside from a hand-carried laser blade stored in the armor plating of each of its four thighs, its only weapons are the four large-caliber railcannons attached to its shoulders. These cannons pack enough power individually to deal medium-heavy damage to an enemy mech, and multiple hits will severely damage anything short of a heavily armored target like a Mars. These cannons are capable of firing at speeds slightly slower than semi-automatic, and can be fire-linked or shot individually depending on the pilot's control inputs. As well, while not exactly weapons, per se, the Viginti's four legs give it an excellent jumping ability, allowing it to leap and land on unsuspecting ground targets and deal some damage with its weight and pointed feet. While the TYPE-020 is rather formidable, it has plenty of disadvantages. Not the least of which is its armor, which due to its construction is rather thin. Worse still, due to the experimental nature of its quadruped leg design, its leg joints are un-armored, making them rather easy targets provided that the Viginti isn't making use of its speed and maneuverability, which are even today rather impressive. In additio, the machine often finds itself out of ammunition rather quickly, as the magazines for its railguns are stored in its shoulders, with each magazine feeding both railguns at once. This is exacerbated by the fact that the Viginti's hands aren't suited to holding hand carried weapons aside from its laser blades, and are much more adept at lifting heavy objects (which security crews are usually tasked with doing onboard merchant ships). This means that the Viginti is forced to rely almost exclusively on its railcannons fro ranged combat.

Based on a failed first generation mech design, the TYPE-016 Zestien is an interesting hybrid of fighter and mech. Designed with speed and firepower in mind, the Zestien forgoes the traditional humanoid shape in favor of a more aerodynamic appearance. Designed to work in large numbers, the Zestien is roughly three quarters the size of the average mech. It excels in aerial combat, where its shape is most beneficial to it, but in space its design loses this edge, and its lack of limbs and armor make it hard to control and easy to destroy in zero-g environments. However, due to its small size and massive thrusters, it is easily one of the fastest mechs ever produced, able to even slightly outrun the Empire's newest Aves Valkyrie model. The TYPE-016 packs a surprising amount of firepower. packing a whopping five laser guns attached to movable porteions of its frame, it is able to direct its firepower to alternate angles, making it a very dangerous dogfighter. The laser guns are not very strong, but can be fired at automatic speed, allowing the Zestien to rack up damage on its target quickly with multiple rounds of sustained fire. Attached to its laser mounts are special focusing panels designed to amplify the power of laser blasts. Although these panels cannot be used with the five laser guns, they can all be used in conjunction with the laser cannon mounted in the center of the TYPE-016's frame, which when fully focussed can fire a blast roughly equal to the output of one of the Beowulf MK-II's shoulder mounted laser cannons. This cannon can be fired slightly slower than semi-automatic, and due to the Zestien's speed and maneuverability this makes it quite deadly to enemies dogfighting against it. Despite its usefulness, the Zestien has some glaring weaknesses that have led to it being declined for widespread adoption. The most obvious of these is its massive rear thruster. Its a glaring target, and without it, the Zestien becomes unable to move foreward, and under gravitiy this causes it to literally fall from the sky. In space, the TYPE-016 simply lacks AMBAC (Active Mass Balance Auto-Control, more or less means that a mech uses the momentum of its limb movements to attitude adjustment. kind of like "swimming" in space) capability, and is therefore much less maneuverable than mechs that do have this ability. Lastly, the TYPE-016's armor can be described, at best, to be paper thin, and it is therefore very susceptible to hits from any mech-sized weapon. However, it is normally used in large squadrons, and so relies on sheer numbers to take down enemies. Nowadays it is mostly sent to backwater worlds in lieu of more advanced fighter craft, which often fill the same niche.

Named after the mighty hammer of Thor is a massive, heavily armoured vessel capable of smashing through enemies head-on as well as unloading a ceaseless onslaught of shells and lasers from its various gunports located in all areas of the ship for absolute versatility in firing. Around 470 m long, its vast interior is largely devoted to mecha hangars, ammunitions and its huge nuclear-powered engines to allow for incredible magnitudes of acceleration despite the ship's unbelievable mass. In addition, the ship contains a small ballroom and small, but very lavishly furnished officers' quarters.

[Optional Picture of your character]"Optional quote from your character"Personal Information Name: Age: Gender: Date of Birth:
An anime-esque picture will be acceptable in this RP, but please include stuff like height and weight as those are not conveyed by your picture.

6 lines minimum.

Some detail of what station in life your character is from should be provided, but extensive detail is not needed

Describe your character’s physical capabilities, any other abilities, such as proficiency at piloting a mech. His albinism makes him stand apart from the rest, especially with his custom white Admiral's uniform contrasting with the usual black, and his red eyes have a dangerous glow about them.

Despite holding one of the highest positions possible in what was once the greatest army in the universe, Admiral Lonn Alfadir appears unassuming and carefree when dealing with others in person. That is not to say that he has no presence when speaking in public though, as he was raised to stand before others, but there isn’t a single hint of pride or ferocity in his day-to-day personality. He simply is. Getting through his daily routines, making military decisions, ordering his thousands of subordinates around, he does this all with an apathetic, and just slightly dissatisfied, expression or otherwise only a half-hearted smile when things amuse him. It stems, majorly, from his restlessness and dismay at being simply given all that he has in life. Did he ever really accomplish anything? He was given the golden star insignia on his shoulder. Sure, his aptitude test soared above even the nobility’s standards, but even his talent and genius intellect was given to him by the sapphire blood that courses through his veins. The child of an Alfar duke, of course he was the blessed of the blessed. The boredom of one who was born with everything plagues him deeply and only ever a few times in his life has he felt the thrill of achievement. He spends his days in constant thought, questioning the meaningfulness of his life among other things. Lonn’s wild nature shows on the battlefield or else at the planning table before. It is where he comes alive and the gears in his head start turning at its full breakneck pace, abandoning all other thought. The flashing of explosions before his eyes, the neck and neck mecha battles, the glory of his strategies coming to fruition is adrenaline is what makes Lonn alive. Rather dangerous for a commander, he actively looks forwards to combat engagements. He has power, but despite that, or because of it, Lonn is ambitious, terribly so. The deprivation of accomplishment all his life only whets his hunger and the security he has felt all his life lures him into a false sense of invincibility. Unlike other great figures in history with a powerful ambition, Lonn gives little thought to ideals or morality, and in this way he is self-centered. Sure he was taught philosophy and the way to rule, but this only drilled into him the iron standards of the Empire. The Empire was his way of life, it was everything and despite all thoughts that he has of being his own person, in the way of thoughts and ideals, he is merely a drone. For a drone though, he is quite social, understanding that understanding his men is crucial to knowing how to organize them. At first, he not only was greatly prejudiced against the Lesser Races, but even other less talented Alfar, but he soon realized that his condescension and discrimination was counter-productive. He might chat some of them up from time to time in idle conversation, often rolling his eyes at the elation and honor they feel from being addressed personally by their leader, and he has found a few over the years which he didn’t not dislike chatting up again. Few people seem to be able to read understand his character, but it makes him slightly more content to be able to speak to others in a familiar way. If anyone understands him, it would have to be his elder adoptive sister (moreover a very distant cousin), and because of such, he has developed a slight... okay maybe a bit more than slight... sister complex. It was her who took him in and welcomed him into the family after his parents’ death when he was very young and she was his mentor and role model for as long as he could remember. Her talents and abilities are that which he can respect and he feels alive himself when seeing his sister full of passion.

Born the son of Sigmund Alfadir, an Alfar duke distantly related to the Emperor and Admiral of the Imperial Army, and Vara Alfadir, his wife and military adviser, Lonn's path was already set to be in the army. However, when Lonn was five, his parents' fleet was annihilated by the Intergalactic Federation in combat and, in recognition of his parents' abilities, the Emperor adopted their only heir as his own, an unparalleled honour. Nonetheless, the Emperor was hardly a good father as he was always pressed with his official duties and thus Lonn was cared for by his sister who, even at the age of eight, was a responsible and loving child. Lonn grew up, raised for his position. At the age of ten, he was introduced to Academy 9 where he stood as the absolute commander and supervisor. For eight years, his force grew as more recruits rolled in until it reached the full size of an Imperial Fleet.

Lonn makes it a point to lead by example and excel in all ways. Jack of all trades? No, he's not a jack of all trades, the term is almost always accompanied by "master of none" which is strictly untrue, and thus, Lonn personally believes the proper phrase would be "master of all trades". Insane Physical Capabilities: As a royal Alfar, his natural physical traits far exceed even that of Alfar nobles. His explosive speed is matchless and he makes sure to maintain a basic daily routine to keep very fit. Lonn isn't built for strength and those who specialize in such will surpass him, but only very, very few can come close to how fast he can run and move. His endurance is nothing to scoff at due to long-term and consistent sessions with his personal trainer. Master Swordsman: A once-dead sport practised almost exclusively by Alfar nobles is the way of the sword. Although quite useless and impractical, Lonn finds that he quite enjoys the feeling of swinging a blade and his enthusiasm led him to mastering it quite quickly. He carries around a monomolecular-edged katana, that, while incredibly delicate and thus constantly protected by its sheath, is capable of shearing through any material known to man. No-Scope Sniper: Lonn does not care much for actual rifles, but he is deadly accurate with sidearms and various other ranged weapons and can consistently, and very quickly, hit multiple targets dead-on in quick succession with a handgun. Average Mech Pilot: The one activity that escapes him so is the art of piloting a mech. He is very average, if not downright mediocre, in this activity and thus refrains from doing so after he realized he lacked the talent that pilots have. His athleticism and physical manoeuvrability simply don't translate over to the mech. He refuses to mention him piloting a mech at all and makes sure that as few people know as possible. Spiral Master: Most remarkable about Lonn is his natural ability with Spiral Power in all ways, he simply knows how to apply it properly. He is able to harden the armor of his ship during combat engagements without wasting energy on any other type of enhancement. When sparring with non-Alfar opponents, he can enhance their abilities so that they can keep up with him. He is even able to heal non-Alfar, however, he seldom does this as it weakens them in the long run when Spiral Power is applied. Genius Commander: Lonn has spent most of his life studying historical battles and various battle tactics and knows them better than the back of his hand. The blood of an Admiral runs through his veins and he is capable of great ingenuity and creativity in applying all aspects of war.

When not carrying out important duties, he is almost constantly listening to his sister's music. She smiles frequently and often teases the crowd, making them feel familiar, though she never goes too far much to the disappointment of her the masochistic part of her fan base. Her music is passionate and speaks of love and hope prevailing through, and she believes every word she sings. Her morality refuses to allow her to lie. While on stage she is quite humble, in person, she is, in fact, rather proud of herself, though not to the point of being obnoxious. Although she enjoys joking around, as a princess, she is fully aware of etiquette and how to read the mood and situation. She is exceedingly intelligent and well-versed in political affairs, though the entire ordeal slightly disgusts her. Nevertheless, she has been fed the ideals of the Empire since birth and born and raised to become the next Empress of the Alfar.

She's the Crown Princess of the Alfar. What else do you need to know?

While she is physically able like any Alfar, she does not engage particularly into physical activities thus is physically inferior to soldiers. However, she is quite naturally agile, though she is very lacking in stamina. Her voice is pure natural talent honed with relentless hours of practice. She has perfect pitch and her octave range is six and a half, almost seven. Her musical training does not end there, however, she is proficient in most instruments, particularly keyboard instruments, guitar and the harp. In addition to music, Freya is a brilliant actor and has featured in many Empire's films (many of which have underlying propaganda messages). She is very adept at improv as well (ad lib acting).

I will put links to your character so you can adjust them at certain points in the RP. Mugendramon
Well I've been reading a lot of Asimov so... My idea was to have a robot escort for the Admiral, completely human in outer appearance, which acts under the cover of a student at academy 9. It would be bound by a tweaked version of Asimov's Three Laws of Robotics, which would replace the concept of "humans" with both humans and alfar. If possible, it would makes sense that robots (though not human-looking, more evidently mechanic ones) were relatively common currency within Alfar ships at least. It would allow for AI-controlled mechs as well.
Vector Nightmare
Great. I decide to join an RPG after a long time, since I will begin having free time for writing and such again starting next week, and it has a point reward system. Now I'm making myself look like a pointwhore >.<That said, Spiral PowerJUST WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK I AM Eternal FlameTHIS IS MY TRUE FORMThere're other references, but those two go well together.I need to point out an inconsistency: Warping is actually the process of entering hyperspace where time flows much faster thus while in hyperspace you feel as though only perhaps a few hours have passed when it has actually been weeks. Warping allows for the traversing millions of light years in the matter of weeks. This doesn't stand logically. What you explained is two worlds that operate on different frequencies. If you travel through a high-frequency world, you may be able to travel fast from your perspective, thus accomplishing the feat of FTL travel in theory, but from the perspective of the low-frequency world, the appropriate amount of time will still have passed, and when you exit hyperspace you will just emerge in the "future". This needs some fleshing out. That said, I'd like to join. Just a disclaimer, I won't be able to be really active until next week. I will probably submit my character until then, though. How important is out-of-vehicle combat going to be? Are ground troops going to play some role, or is it mostly going to be mechs and ships duking it out? Also, I assume that Spiral Power control is going to play some role in vehicle battles, for example upping the stats of your mech/ship, like in TTGL.Regarding the 'Lesser Races', how broad a spectrum are we looking at and how much 'lesser' is Lesser? I was thinking something like a talking animal (not as a character, but more as a companion / pet thing), which sounds like something that'd be viable with Spiral Power, but not sure if it's be something that'd exist in the universe at large.EDIT: That part, along with my avatar picture, will probably make my general ideas pretty obvious >.>
Mugendramon
Well, the concept of Hyperspace as explained by some writers is a parallel where the three (and fourth) dimensions do not exist- travelling from point A to point B in hyperspace is effectively instantaneous because the distance to travel is of zero and the time elapsed is also zero. The "jump" is the only thing that requires precision- getting in and out at the right place. This is obviously to be done with Spiral Power because well, there is no way to explain it with modern science. Just say the Eternal Flame and Spiral Power can both produce the necessary energy to literally tear through the fabric of space and time, and the on-board computers can make the necessary calculations for jumps. Aix
One thing that always bothered me about robots and AI is why the Singularity does not occur. At any rate, I'm fine with a robot character. Note that robots will have discrimination, or at least be looked down upon as not proven to be sentient beings. Unless you'd rather things be differently? Great. EDIT: That part, along with my avatar picture, will probably make my general ideas pretty obvious >.> Sorry, it's not really hyperspace, rather it's a spacetime fold. Similar to modern theories of the Alcubierre drive, but on a much more powerful scale and slightly different idea, the idea comes from the Macross franchise. As for requiring great amounts of energy, I heard something about a new theory proving that the energy equivalent of Jupiter or whatever it was was not necessary and NASA attempting to create an Alcubierre drive. Overall, I'm not actually that knowledgeable about sci-fi stuff or current theories, so I wouldn't mind help in that department. Lesser Races as a term was meant to instil the sense of inferiority, but basically means any sentient race that is not Alfar. It's fine if we don't really start until next week or almost next week, I'd like to get some discussion done beforehand and refining of the worldbuilding. A great deal of combat will take place in space, but sometimes there will be ground combat.

One of his books whose title I forget elaborates on the concept. And I'm fine with robot racism, as it is the natural progression. However, my character's status as a robot would be highly confidential- for everyone but the admiral and a select few, he'd be indistinguishable from a human. Raine
As said in Jerry Maguire, you had me at mechas. Plus, my application creation time for this one is fantastic.
"God's world is still beautiful, I simply must find it." Personal Information Name: Lucius Yishma’el Age: 20 Gender: Male Race: Human Date of Birth: May 5th
Race: Human Height: 5’ 8’’ Weight: 131 lbs

Lucius is curiously motivated and extremely talented individual only bounded by his loyalty and religious belief. At first appearance, Lucius is the ideal tool to an army who understands tactical discipline and loyalty while applying his own individual solutions to military matters. With practiced apathy and a skill to improve his standing with superiors, he has nested his position with higher brass even within the academy. These personas hide his more unpredictable and archaic personality. His adhesion to a nearly extinct Bahai faith from the old world is what truly drives his goals. Following the religion of from his youth, he carries charms and talismans on his person as tokens of God who watches and supports him efforts for the cause. He is quick to anger in meetings he is ill prepared for and slow to forgive those who trespass or betray him. His state of mind ideologically is extremely steady and as long as his actions are guided by his superiors or faith, he will work and fight much like a zealot. That said, after battles, he often becomes sick and overcome with guilt from taking lives which he believes is a sin and mortifies him. He is extremely intelligent and is close to the top of his academy in exams and even smarter when thinking on his feet, an asset in his combat.

Lucius was born in an improvised ghetto of what was Iran on the war-torn Earth. At the mere age of 1, his father was mugged and killed on the streets by bandits. His mother devastated from the loss, fell into depression and neglect for her infant child. Lucius luck shown when Alfar’s peacekeeper officers destined the ghetto to destruction as they continued war reparations on the planet. They found his abandoned and starving. The officers took him to local temple that was serving the Empire as a refugee camp where he was cared for. As it turned out, the owners of the temple were originally of the Bahai faith, a dying religion, and as they raised Lucius he was taught under their values and beliefs which he readily accepted. The Bahai wish for the spiritual unification of life which is equal and that all things descend from God even the Alfar. At the age of 16, he joined the local law enforcement and began exploring the area of his homeland with eyes which had been restrained to the refugee camp. He was horrified. Mankind was not the species that he had learned from his foster mother’s books and history. They were subjugated and chaotic in poverty and starvation unless tamed by their new masters. Whether the Alfar found them in this regard or made the remaining into this way, it terrified that this was his world of God. Slowly, he fell deeper and deeper into his faith to deal with the darkness around him and in his heart. Lucius grew strong with time, he learned martial arts of law enforcement through his career and the combat of the lost ways through his foster parents who he still loved and frequently visited. Finding vast amounts of information when he was allowed access to the current information network, he feed his thriving passion for knowledge. Lucius finally decided that God had let him live that day, 15 years ago. He had to change the world into God’s image that was his goal. Lucius under full conviction decided to attend the Accademy and move up into the Empire’s army. For nearly 3 years now, Lucius has been climbing his class ranks, waiting for his opportunity. Currently, Lucius has been awaiting graduation making as many high ranking friends as possible, the one he feels the most loyalty to, a particual Royal Admiral named Lonn.

Ace Pilot: By far, Lucius’s most useful combat skill is piloting. Although he is more than capable of using standard mechs in fights, he prefers using the smaller and quicker Valkyries to attack specific strategic targets or save vital assets thinking that kills are a secondary objective compared to taking the objective. His style of combat is to outmaneuver and close distance with the more well-armed standard mechs and strike vital areas with melee or explosive force. Tactical Efficiency: To climb the ranks at the academy, most of Lucius’s study as gearing to squad commanding and strategy. Lucius is most recognized for this ability and his specification is incapacitation and assassination rather than commanding larger forces which while is still in his range of ability, he is less effective. Knife Mastery: Lucius expertly skilled at using short blades, in particular a personalized from his foster parents that is copied from the technique Hassan i-Sabbah. His personal weapon is two 4 inch two-sided blades with a handle that is held from the palm at attached together with extendable wire. It is used for its speed, stealth, and range if thrown by the wire up to 2 meters of effective use. Chemistry Expertise: Being Lucius’s most talented subject, he is skilled in its practical application through explosives (whether it be their creation of diffusion), toxins, fuel use and creation, and analyses of polymers and materials. Practiced Marksmanship: While not the best shot, he has more than practical skill in firearms ranging from pistols to assault rifles. His preferred guns are 22 caliber semi-automatic pistols.

Currently, Lucius does not have a personalized Mech and requisitions a standard human-enabled rescue/support Valkyrie augmented for front line combat.

According to his faith, he is vegetarian. Since he doesn’t tell others he is religious, he tells other he dislikes the taste of meat. Theme: Wareta Ringo

Lucius views Lore publically as a rival in performance however finds her competitiveness and superiority complex as a threat to the world Lucius is fighting for. In private, Lucius will actively challenge Lore academically and in performance and attempt to convince her that her view of others is misguided. That said, her conviction is admirable to Lucius and he can respect her skill especially in areas she excels him in.

Lucius is rather indifferent to Herman since he doesn’t have much to do on and considers him an enigma. That said, his actions, which reflect the 3 laws, are in line with Lucius’s beliefs and treatment of intelligent life. Lucius would seek to strengthen his relation to Herman to both discover more about him and find a potential like-minded ally.

Mithna is the ideal case of people who define the world Lucius fights against. Her racism and two-sided nature seem to Lucius as dirty and sinful. However, since she is Alfar, Lucius will put on a smiling face to her and accept her insults and even go so far as to agree with her to appease her. His goal with her is to use her skills and influence as an Alfar to his advantage since her abilities are undeniably useful. That said, if she approached Lucius without warning it would be difficult for Lucius to suppress his disgust for her.

While Lucius admits he and Tobias have little chemistry. He sees nothing wrong with his way of life and actions as Lucius priorities equality over kindness. Tobias seems to Lucius as wild card and unreliable but his unique personality as an Alfar makes him likable to Lucius. Lucius will attempt to use him like other Alfar however since he senses his confusion and unique situation, he will attempt a closer relationship and capitalize on his nature. Since they both pilot similar styles of mech, he may use him as a combat rival to compare his own piloting capabilities.

Lucius views Adora complexly. On one stance, her blatant disregard for those who she dislikes is horrid to Lucius and another enemy of his purpose. On another, her obsession and love is admirable if it didn’t have such a drawback. Regardless, Lucius is cautious of Adora and will attempt to avoid overly personal interaction, since he finds her irredeemable, and just seek a relationship where he could learn from her mechanical abilities and use them on his own Valkerie until such time that it becomes absolutely necessary.

Out of all Alfars Lucius has ever met, Eryn is by far is favorite. As he said, “Eryn is kind because she understands true pain, an attribute all species should learn from.” Lucius can sense her pain and sympathizes it with his own understanding of abandonment and hardship. However, because of this, he is cautious around her and tries to not get too closely attached to avoid both taking advantage of her and gifting himself the comfort of her personality. Despite this, Lucius will attempt to protect her, on and off the field, from a distance to ensure her survival as someone he heavily approves of.

Even considering the most hostile and racist Alfar, McQueen is the most direct opposite of Lucius conceivable. From his boisterous personality to playboy lifestyle, everything he does is the opposite of how Lucius would act. Because of this though, Lucius doesn’t hate him. In fact, Lucius considers him both interesting to watch and a potential opportunity in the future. Lucius will attempt to secure a peaceful relationship and make himself one his few allies. As Lucius said, “He’s hopeless, but somehow he’s alive. There may be a reason for that.”

In Lucius’s opinion, Daiki represents the driving spirit of humanity, in all its good and bad attributes. His motivation and altruism are qualities admires but as Lucius remembers living with humans in his poverty stricken home, the addition senses of competition and single-minded drive can easily be used for selfish and hurtful purposes so he remains watchful of him. That said, he highly approves of his belief in equality and, lesser so, judgment on skill. At this stage in Lucius’s planning, he considers Daiki an ally and will attempt to closen themselves to solidify friendship and an alliance by offering his services.

Out of all of Lucius’s comrades, Ismina is the one he looks up to the most even more so than the Admiral. While her racism is presence, his distaste for her views is overshadowed by his awe for her command abilities. Lucius is respectful but more assertive to her than he typically is to the Alfar because he honestly considers his inferiority in commanding large forces as a challenge to his own skill despite his ruthless effectiveness with small numbers. If there was someone he would seek personal relationship with, it would be a rivalry with her to test his own resolve and talent.

Lucius is constantly bewildered by Rose. He views her a cynical muscle-bound version of himself. That said, he recognizes her legitimate skill and charisma with others. She ranks among the highest in his classmates for people he'd attempt to from trust with since her ideals are remotely similar to her own though he senses her hesitation towards someone of his character and faith. Surely God put her in his way for a reason, all that is needed in the opportune moment.

Tim Tim is the lord and messiah! To be alive on such a day is joyous news! REPENT AND BE SAVED!

Aix
It'd be looked upon as an abomination as the high and mighty Alfar cannot bear the thought of mingling with the Lesser Races but otherwise DNA is close enough not only to breed but also for hybrids to be able to breed. That's what i assumed would be the case, although i wonder what levels of spiral power a hybrid would be able to utilize, if any. Id assume their abilities would be inferior to a pure-blooded alfar at the very least.
Asriel Dreemurr
Noting interest, but from what I've read there doesn't seem to be any reason (mechanically at least) to not be an Alfar. I mean, they're physically superior to everything and they wield this "Spiral Power." At least from what I read it seems like you want them superior to everything. I mean, they're physically superior to everything and they wield this "Spiral Power." At least from what I read it seems like you want them superior to everything. Well not mechanically. Humans currently hold tactical superiority, if you read the whole intro. They have a self-replicating, unlimited power source that can stand when it kills a rearguard. The alfar are better off in physical combat, but in the larger scheme of things they are at a disadvantage because Spiral Power has actual drawbacks in this particular work. Super Chaos Sonic
OK so, my question before I start work on an app (finishing up the ones for Jolta and then working on this ones). Asriel Dreemurr
Well, I understood that your previous statement said there was no reason to pick being a human over an alfar, and I replied to that. If that's not what you meant, sorry then o,o When I said mechanically I meant in the terms of the abilities that they have as an individual more than anything else. Just seemed like one would be at a significant disadvantage were they not an Alfar, but all the same there are the reasons beyond the seeming disadvantages to do so. Only 1 of your 4 characters have to be on the side of the Empire. I must have missed whatever said that, but I tend to only make one character at a time anyways. On a new subject, what sort of requirements are there for creating a new Race/Species?

Cray-Crow
Done. Let me know of anything you're not okay with, Aix.
"Never forget who you are, for the world will not. Make it your strength. Then it can never be your weakness. Armour yourself in it, and it can never be used to hurt you." Personal Information Name: [acronym='Lorena Zule']Lojr'Ehnajh Zhullejh[/acronym], "Lore" Age: 14 Human Years (in her species' aging, this translates to a mental and biological age appearance of around 19 human years) Race:[acronym='By-Djoo ('Dj' pronounced as in 'Djinn')']Bai'Shujh[/acronym]
The Bai'Shujh are a human-like race from the planet Gliseltha in a distant galaxy controlled by the Intergalactic Confederation. Many of her race, ages ago, fled from their home world and found refuge under the care of the Empire. More pisces than dragon, this race demonstrates superior speed both on land and at sea than human or Alfar, and boasts considerable strength comparable to the latter. Their skin varies in shades from a pale white to a dark grey or purple. Their hair is naturally black but shimmers with a opalescent sheen in light. Bai'Shujh are naturally immune to most human afflictions but succumb to high temperatures or dryness, often becoming dehydrated or overheated. Scales trail down their arms and hip areas, sometimes with protruding spikes. These scales have a sufficient degree of hardness to protect themselves from most domestic or accidental injuries. A Bai'Shujh's legs are similar to the fabled dragon, both in appearance and functionality. Bai'Shuhj also have a long, powerful tail, usually frilled. Bai'Shujh also have the ability to see underwater or in darkness clearly, with highly adaptive irises and a thin, clear, protective lens that covers their eyes. Mentally, a Bai'Shujh could be compared to a human, in both aspects of intellectual potential and emotional growth and behavior. But, where humans have a tendency for greed, Bai'Shujh have a tendency for pride.
Gender: Female Date of Birth: Translated into the Gregorian Calender, her birthday is roughly the tenth of November.
Art credit goes to Po Wen. He's amazing. Lore is as portrayed by her image. However, she does wear clothing over her more [acronym='which, by human standards, is very attractive']human[/acronym] bodice. This includes a white body-tight mesh adorned with steel armor styled in a way that matches her hooked pole arm and shoulder braces for combat. This mesh encompasses her from her shoulders to around her thighs. Her casual attire is a dark blue spaghetti-strap slim-fitted silk top and black skin-tight shorts specially fabricated for her species' tail. The wings are a part of her armor and not actually attached to her and serve only aesthetic purposes. Standing normally, Lore is 5'6". Standing with her legs stretched, she reaches about 8' in height. Her tail is just shy of 5' in length. Lore weighs about 183 pounds. Her hair, while naturally curly, is straightened everyday, reaching the middle of her back in length. Lore's eyes are a mix of grey and chestnut-brown. Her bust is sized b34.

Lore is very competitive and asserts herself as superior to others, whether it be in feats of strength, tactical prowess, or intellectual triumph. She usually talks down to others, believing she can excel where others cannot. She isn't all talk, either. Lore maintains a high and well known reputation in Academy 9 as a top performer both academically and in combat, and does not take kindly to those who make her appear foolish or amateur. She isn't completely egotistical, however. She does accept criticism but only from those she finds as skilled as herself. When not actively trying to excel, Lore leads a more quiet and restrained presence. Often she meditates or finds serenity in the depths of the ocean, amongst the coral and marine life. So, she tries her best not to come off as completely conceited. To support others, Lore is more than willing to discuss battle strategy or training regimen to help her comrades. With this, she feels she can learn of an ally's combat style and they'll learn hers, making assistance and cooperation out in the field easier and more effective. Not being either human or Alfar, Lore's interaction with others is mostly defaulted to whether or not she feels she is accepted as an individual or not. If she feels the other belittles or holds some sort of contempt of her not being human or Alfar, Lore will prove them otherwise and show them little pleasantry. In contrast, being accepted is really what Lore longs for most from others, probably the underlying mechanism of her superiority complex, bringing herself up so that others will be impressed. Lore easily interacts with and enjoys the company of those she feels welcome her, and displays the utmost in loyalty and affection to these people.

Lore is a [acronym='By-Djoo ('Dj' pronounced as in 'Djinn')']Bai'Shujh[/acronym]. This seemingly surreal species, when compared to humans, hails from the planet Gliseltha in a far away galaxy. Her ancestors, along with several other peace lovers of her kind, left their home world as refugees taking shelter from the Intergalactic Confederation and its warmongering. Their escape eventually found them in the Empire's protective hands. Eventually, Lore was born and she had an innate sense of duty and indebtedness to the Empire. She's extremely grateful for its over-watching presence, and in a sort or repayment, Lore applied for Academy 9. Having been accepted, Lore takes great strides in accomplishing the most, in defeating the best, and overcoming all she can. Therein Academy 9, Lore has more than proven herself as a more than capable foot-soldier. Given the nickname "The Dragoness", she's bested many a student with her hooked pole arm, and led many assigned troops and small forces to victory in battle training and simulation. Her superb capability has gotten her into the familiarity of a few higher ranking officials and individuals of import, including the prospective Admiral, Lonn Alfadir. Barring nothing but pure respect for the Admiral, Lure feels their relationship is strictly platonic.

Bai'Shujh Traits: Being a Bai'Shujh, Lore exhibits traits exhibited by her species. -Dragonesque: Lore has black-nailed, clawed hands, with fish-like scales lining her arm. These fish scales also present themselves around her hip area, spreading down into dragon-like legs and tail. The muscles of these "dragon" limbs are incredibly powerful. At max speed, Lore can run and swim approximately three times faster than a human. Her scales' provide light, to moderate protection from sharp edges and pierces. Often, she uses her body to make herself seem larger, to intimidate foes. Also, because of the way her legs hold her center of gravity, Lore demonstrates amazing agility and evasive maneuvers. -Marveling Skin: Lore's skin is velvet soft and marble smooth. Her species' regenerative abilities are more evolved compared to humans', being able to heal at a more accelerated rate. -Keen Eyes: Lore is able to see in the dark and under water. [acronym='Er-Vees-Fin. Meaning 'Life Ender' in Lore's native tongue']Ehr'Visjh-Fhinn[/acronym]: The Hooked Polearm: Lore carries with her a uniquely shaped and versatile weapon, a [acronym='as depicted in her image']hooked polearm[/acronym]. With many years of training and use, she's become a practiced master of its art in battle. Combined with her outstanding strength and bewildering speed, the weapon is nigh something to overlook. It is made of an element only found on Gliseltha that forms in a very dense, hard, and tough crystalline structure, therefore making the weapon weigh a tad more than it appears. At its sharpest, it can sheer its way through the hardest of materials, even mecha armor with enough force and repetition, without the slightest of fractures.

Image credit goes to dameaux9. Lore will obtain the xxx later on in the rp. The xxx is a smaller mech, though not as compact as the Afar issued Valkyrie. Thus, this mech is faster, more agile, and more maneuverable than the standard Beowulf. This also means that the xxx is not as durable as the larger mechas, and cannot sustain as high an amount of damage before needing to retreat. Carrying a three-burst firing marksman energy rifle, and a high-intensity energy blade, the xxx is a formidable mech. This isn't the only thing that makes the xxx inherently unique. -Resonant Absorption: The crystals embedded into the xxx's 'shoulders' are capable of absorbing energy, be it in a plasma shot, blast, or blade. This is accomplished by coursing an amount of the xxx's core energy, causing the crystals to resonate. This resonance creates a small volume, a force field, that absorbs energy that it comes in contact with. The absorbed energy can then be harnessed to recharge the xxx's core. The volume of the field only surrounds the xxx's shoulders in a sort of concave shape, therefore the xxx must be bracing itself with its shoulder being ahead of its body in order to absorb any energy and protect its body. Constant use of the crystals causes them to overheat, and the strain placed on them can lead to their fracture, rendering the xxx unable to absorb any further energy. -

-Lore doesn't find many humans or Alfar physically attractive, rather their mind is what she can become fond of. -She wants to own and become a pilot of her own mecha. -She eats a lot, comparatively to humans, to keep up with her body's metabolism. -She has a slight accent when speaking English, similar to a Russian's. Theme song: Quutamo - Apocalyptica

It's an honor to be in the acquaintance of the Admiral. Lore respects him the most of anyone in Academy 9, and not solely because he's their Admiral. He is the most remarkable of tacticians Lore has had the pleasure to ever witness. She believes there's a sort of weight to him, or rather on him. He never appeared too interested in his interactions with his shipmates, despite his strides to understand them. Something must be on his mind, Lore thought. Was it the fact that he alone, a young Alfar, commanded the lives of so many near his own age? She won't know, and Lore wasn't sure she ever would. Despite that ominous feeling, Lore serves Admiral Lonn honorably and with pride. She's also glad that he doesn't appear as a racist. That would honestly make it hard for Lore to perform as well as she does.

Mostly, Lore is jealous of the fact that Lucius owns and knows how to operate a mecha, even more so that he is excellent at it. But, it is not shown negatively, more an admiration and respect. When, and if, she were to obtain a mecha of her own, Lore knows exactly who to come for for piloting advice or training. She's found him to be a more than capable and acceptable rival, having been bested by Lucius several times in academics and performance in battle. Lucuis' religion is interesting to Lore, having seen him with his charms and whatnot, but she was never brought up with such an ideology and therefore believes she wouldn't be best at that sort of conversation. Still, Lore's become acquainted with Lucius and is fine with their mutual relationship.

Herrman's general acceptance of everyone is refreshing to Lore, albeit it seems to come from a sort of apathy. She believes him to be somewhat restrained and the few times she's conversed with him, his voice's disinterested tone was a tad awkward. Maybe he didn't care to make friends? Maybe he didn't find Lore the least bit interesting? Did he find anything interesting? Lore doesn't know.

It's pretty obvious that Mithna is racist towards the non-Alfar. As to be expected, Lore hasn't had much pleasure in interactions with this girl, and doesn't particularly enjoy her. What Lore does enjoy is exploiting any superiority over the girl, be it in schooling, combat training, or more feminine qualities. Lore doesn't see herself getting to know Mithna that well.

Another who Lore feels generally accepts everyone. Surprising, since he is Alfar. Tobias, however, never seemed to have anything personal to say during Lore's interaction's with him.So, his and Lore's conversation seldom goes beyond a greeting and some common pleasantries. Lore feels he acts a bit rash publicly and Lore sometimes questions whether he's naive or just unafraid of what others think of him. His piloting skills are well enough, being he operates a Valkyrie, so maybe they'd have more to talk about if she obtained a mecha, but for now Lore believes he's a well enough person and could foster a friendship with him.

Lore doesn't have much to go on. Lore believes Adora isolates herself often, and therefore hasn't gotten to know her at all. She doesn't care much for it, though. From what Lore has seen, Adora seems to be control-orientated, which for all intent and purpose, helps Adora in her line of work. She's also seen a sort of obsession from Adora, which Lore does not understand. She's a strange girl who's a better tactician than anything else. Hm. Lore will have to test how well of a tactician Adora is someday.

To be honest, Lore adores Eryn. She tries to get Eryn to be more assertive and have more self-confidence. Particularly because Eryn is an excellent pilot and marksman. She should be more proud of herself. Lore very much enjoys Eryn's company and conversation and somewhat feels an 'older sister' type relationship. Lore will do her best to watch out for and defend Eryn.

As one egotist to another, Lore won't be fooled by McQueen. His philanthropic ways aren't at all amusing. At least he's an impressive fighter and mecha pilot. If they tried to interact, Lore's certain McQueen and herself would combat each other, maybe even get into a brawl. Which Lore would love to best him and put him in his place.

Daiki is a prime example of pride. Daiki doesn't seem to care who you are or where you're from, you are as you present yourself, which is exactly what Lore is all about. Regrettably, Lore hasn't really associated herself enough with Daiki for them to be friends, but she'd be more than fine if they were. Couple his sense of self-worth with his superb piloting and gunman-ship, he'd be an amazing ally and a more than fitting friend.

Lore respects Ismina's ability to lead and tactfully defeat an opponent's forces with seconds of thought, and knows she's a better tactician than herself. She's seen more often than once Ismina turn a blind eye for her non-Aflar comrades, which Lore is not at all accepting of. Because of this, Lore hasn't tried to hold much of a relationship with her besides the fact that they are allies on the field.

Because of Verena's tendency to associate herself with only other females, Lorena wonders whether or not Verena finds the opposite gender attractive or not, seeing as how vehemently Verena seems to treat males. Maybe she's attracted to females? Such a thing isn't unheard of and Lore would not discriminate Verena if it was so. The fact that Verena is as strong as male Alfar is admirable, though. Lore hopes it's more due to some sort of training rather than inheritance, but nonetheless, Lore's been around Verena enough to know she wouldn't mind being mutual friends with her.

The Kal'dar. Lore believes they are a race that is far too evolved for their own good, even farther than Alfar, in her honest opinion. That isn't to say she doesn't admire them. She just ponders, how did they get there? He is a uniquely remarkable pilot while only in his own mecha, in others however, Draegan is sub-par. He also demonstrates great skill in hand-to-hand combat, something Lore doesn't really think about much. She could use a lesson or two from Draegan in this respect. His headstrong personality is something that Lore does admire, and she'd trust Draegan as a reliable ally on the field.

Lore cannot even begin to comment about Tim Tim, ever since he made that [acronym=''dat ass'']libidinous comment[/acronym] while she was traversing Academy 9's halls. Never mind the ludicrous rumors surrounding him.

It's relieving that Adora has a sister whom is just as accepting as Adora is discriminating. Rose appears to be an ideal companion for Lore, especially since she fills the role of spreading comradery and fostering morale, where as Lore more so focuses on herself and voices the shortcomings of others. She's one of the more beautiful Alfar Lore has had the pleasure to converse with, in her opinion.

Still having not ascertained whether Rygan is a chauvinistic Alfar or not, Lore hasn't really put it upon herself to go out of her way to meet him. She's heard he's a brilliant pilot, and has exceptional control of Spiral Power, as if that impressed her. He's also a very obedient soldier, something Lore would not mind in her very own platoon, but can he adapt to a situation when an order once carried out fails? But who knows, maybe once she's known him, they'd become close friends.
