PrimeAceJohn
For my english project at school, we are to take any character from any book or TV show and remake their whole story. I chose Batman and I'm really running short on good ideas. This is what the project must have Batman (evil or good, doesn't matter) Besides that, it could be any idea, so please help me with this! The Amazing Avian
Turn him from somewhat dark hero with a troubled past into a bad guy killing machine a la Punisher?
PrimeAceJohn
I was thinking that, but I had trouble thinking like how/why. I was thinking her would turn into this like bat-killing-monster thing and yeah
Catterjune
Don't make it about "Batman", make it about "Bruce Wayne". Maybe instead of his parents being super beloved and him being a philanthropist, his parents were rich mobsters who ran the city. Then they got killed, not by the Gotham Police, but by jealous villains. So Bruce is like 10, and he has no money, no family, and he's probably one of the most hated people in Gotham. The normal people hate him because he's the son of the two mobsters who ran the city. The villains hate him because they were jealous of his parents. So growing on the mean streets of Gotham, he had to adapt to survive. He uses his cleverness to stay alive until he's an older man. As a teen, he gets hired as some low level thug for one of the kingpins but deep down Bruce hates the life of villainy. He finds out details on a heist and then, wearing a ski mask and a beanie he goes out and stops the heist and manages to kill the kingpin guy. Bonus points if the kingpin guy is the one who killed his parents. From then on, he refines and fixes his costume, but it's never super hightech stuff from Wayne Corp. He goes on a mission... partly of revenge, partly to "clean" the streets, because he knows firsthand how the seedy underbelly of the city works. As "Bruce Wayne" he's some low level thug. As "Batman", he's... typical Batman. He might have some more sympathy, because he might know or be friends with these thugs, or he might know how awful it is and how the Gotham thugs are just doing it because they're just down on their luck. tl;dr - Focus on Bruce, not on Batman. Just Crouton
Are you allowed to pull an Elseworlds thing and make a Batman who's a ninja in feudal Japan or something?
PrimeAceJohn
Are you allowed to pull an Elseworlds thing and make a Batman who's a ninja in feudal Japan or something? Yeah, it could be anything but just has to include Batman

That sounds more like Owlman, which is the alternative/villain version of Batman from antimatter earth/earth 3 till the part where his parents got kill by jealous villain instead of the gotham pd and the part where he hates crime. Still, probably the best idea yet. Anyway, what if Batman is a mythical assassin? Bruce Wayne join the assassins and solve problem outside from killing and took the mantle of Batman and fight crime with it.

I like it, but still requires more of a back story i have to think of
