VictorSempra
This popped up in an old Game Boy game I had, which changed up the attributes and types some. What do you think the TCG would be like if this was part of it? However, in Yu-Gi-Oh! Dark Duel Stories monsters can be destroyed because they have an inferior Alignment (which substitutes Attribute in this game). In this format, the difference between Attack or Defense points does not matter and the card with the inferior alignment is instantly destroyed. The exception to this rule is when the monster with the superior alignment also has higher attack points (when attacking) or defense points (when being attacked in defense position), in which case battle damage is calculated normally. However, when a defense position is attacked by a monster with an inferior alignment, the monster with the inferior alignment is destroyed. Alignment strengths and weaknesses. Fire beats Forest Forest beats Wind Wind beats Earth Earth beats Thunder Thunder beats Aqua Aqua beats Fire also: Shadow beats Light Light beats Fiend Fiend beats Dreams Dreams beats Shadow
Sleepy
Resistance/Weakness would be a fun concept, Duelist Kingdom duels pretty much depended on that mechanic in a way that was never expanded or even fully explained. I remember manga Pegasus at that Duel through a VHS did show one of his monsters beating Yugi's because it halved the ATK of a weaker Type/Attribute. That and other than the field advantage, Harpie Lady did beat Axe Raider because WIND overpowers EARTH. Catastor effects sounds a bit much though, if it just lost/gained ATK/DEF it'd give the other deck a chance and make the effort of the weaker side's boss a bit more worth it. A couple years ago I designed a chart trying to incorporate this in a custom format with my brother. Said chart is somewhere in my closet so I can't really show it now but it basically made any Type strong to 4 other Types, and an Attribute strong to another. If a strong Attribute is battling it's weaker match, it gains half of it's own ATK/DEF during Damage Calculation. If a Type is battling one of it's weaker matches, the weaker Type will lose half of it's ATK/DEF. All Types/Attributes were evenly distributed throughout the chart as to not give too much advantage to them. Though sadly it's not really all that viable outside of custom cards because in order to close the circles I had to move things around, making a CLEAR/VOID one and turning THUNDER into one so that I could go "WATER > FIRE > WIND > EARTH > THUNDER > WATER" and "LIGHT > DARK > VOID > LIGHT". And anything DIVINE is out of this as well as that new Legendary Dragon-Type.... The whole thing was complex enough that we had to leave a space of "advantages" in our cards OR keep looking at the chart every time we made a battle.... It was interesting. Slinky
Just go with Capsule Monster Coliseum Water > Fire Fire > Wood Wood > Wind Wind > Water Dark > Earth Earth > Thunder Thunder > Light Light > Dark
Toffee.
Considering Ygo just has LIGHT and DARK, you would have to integrate those among the existing other 4, as to not have Attributes that lack a weakness/etc.
Mugendramon
Or you know the typical approach Water>Fire>Air>Earth>Water Light>Dark>Light
Slinky
Water is the most powerful force though. It douses Fire, and erodes Earth. Wind angers water, does nothing to earth, and fuels fire Fire burns earth, fizzles to water, and does nothing to wind
Maeriberii Haan
Yugimon! Gotta Collect 'em all! Tbh, this will make some interesting changes to the game. Though, it might make the game even more match-up dependant.

Though, it might make the game even more match-up dependant. It would allow for some very random deck-builds, though I wouldn't be shocked if people just all started running one element all the time. (IE Battlin' Boxers and Fire Fists, just FIRE it up)
Toffee.
Or you know the typical approach Water>Fire>Air>Earth>Water Light>Dark>LightThis would only be if your attacking, of course. Since LIGHT and DARK monsters would always tie otherwise.

Earth absorbs water. The key here is that Earth is soil, not rocks and shit.
Toffee.
Pfff, obviously we should use Duelist Kingdom logic, where Field Powers are a thing.
Trebuchet MS
Pfff, obviously we should use Duelist Kingdom logic, where Field Powers are a thing. So we can launch Dragon Knights to bring floating castles crashing down or Stab the Moon to beach submerged monsters?
