Nintendo Card Contest

Recommended Posts

Just so we don't get another repeat of several earlier contests, some things to consider.

  • A grading scale. How are you, as the host, going to be grading cards? If there is no grading scale that you will be using, therein lies the possibility of choosing cards based on some random basis. You need to provide a grading scale for how you're judging entries for all participants.
  • Lowering entry fee. Considering you are classified as a "new member" and haven't yet made yourself known, requiring a high entry fee will yield you very few, if no contestants. If you were Striker or one of the veterans of this section hosting a large tournament such as Leaderboard or something, then this would be reasonable. This isn't one of them, however.
  • Elaborate on the tasks. How many rounds do you plan to do with this?
  • Deadline. I understand you're starting this after you get enough people, but going back to point 2; do not expect many entries; thus this contest will most likely be on an indefinite hiatus.
  • You already have another contest going (the Minecraft one). Ideally, you should only be hosting one contest at a time (there currently isn't any rule that prohibits multiples at once). If you want to hold this one or the Minecraft tournament, WAIT until you finish the first one.
  • Organization and clarity. Based on the data underneath the high entry fee, winner gets 50% of all the points in this prize pot, runner-up gets 45% and the third place gets 5% from what I can make out. You need to clean up your post and organize it; that way, we can understand what you want participants to do and what they're playing for.

Whatever is written here can also be said on your other contest.
