What the heck did I just read? So much stupidity from the police and prosecution in this case, and it makes me sick. However, I understand that things like this can happen in the American justice system, but this is ridiculous. Anyway, discuss.

Can we turn this into an actual conversation rather than the spam the previous 2 posters made.

It is crazy to think in this day and age with all the CCTV around that stuff like this can happen, but innocent people are accused of crimes all the time until the police can rule them out.

Yet this guy lost his job and thousands of dollars due to this miscarriage of justice. I mean, shouldn't the police have done a more detailed investigation instead cuffing the closest guy they could? By that, I mean the guy that looked the closest to what the flawed witnesses said.

Police generally prefer to get cases done quickly rather than get them done thoroughly.

You know the show The Closer? They're generally like that, except they do it to people who are innocent in a mind game thing that tricks them into confessing to things they didn't commit.

Also, eyewitnesses f*** up a lot because the human mind is a terrible object of evidence. There's been a whole shitload of cases where a victim wrongly chooses the suspect because they don't remember the face as well as they think they do.

So all in all, everyone's pretty fucking terrible.
