Aha, looks like Hol Horse is going to become a regular adversary against the crew, at least for a little while.

And Polnareff constantly pissing off evil old lady was hilarious.

Also, I'm starting to really appreciate Jotaro's wit. Joseph had good battle sense too, but Jotaro differs from him in a way I can't really explain, but I can feel it.
The entire time, I imagined that he knew that Cars was her son and was trolling her. Made it much more hilarious.

Not gonna lie, though, I'm gonna miss her Stand, as well as Cars'.

Also, I'm starting to really appreciate Jotaro's wit. Joseph had good battle sense too, but Jotaro differs from him in a way I can't really explain, but I can feel it.

In addition to that, Platinum Star's battle cry really sells him for me.
Star Platinum's URAURAURAURA is really satisfying to hear as it pummels something to smithereens, true.

Actually, I really like Daisuke Ono's voice, which is interesting since it's not often I have an opinion on seiyuu.

One, it's actually Star Platinum, not Platinum Star, and two, Cars was the previous main villain. the one Joseph fought. You're thinking J. Geil (apparently Mr. Centerfold now)

1. Tomato tomahto.

2. Centerfold... right. I knew it started with a C.

Well, his name is TECHNICALLY "Centerfold" in the English Dub and in All Star Battle, to avoid being sued. However, I really hate it when people call him that because it sounds really stupid. You can plainly hear in the Japanese version they're saying "J. Geil" and yet the translators still put "Centerfold", and it's frustrating to me.

Anyways, they managed to make The Sun a much more interesting episode than it could have been. Hearing Joseph actually say "OH SHIT" and "OH MY GOD" over an over again is hilarious as well.

Also, here's a gif I made of a Stand that will likely never get an anime debut. Definitely recommend reading Parts 4 and on since there is a strong possibility of them never being made into anime. Also check out All Star Battle if you don't mind some out-of-context spoilers.

Only watching the anime at the mo'.  But Stardust Crusaders forced it's way into my top three, knocking out Kill La Kill for 2nd place.  The way they defeated
The Sun, Episode 18
almost made me cry laughing.  Whether it's the unique, but not so bullshit way they defeat the baddies, or hearing Joseph swear or say, "OH MY GOD", I love this anime.

I think one of the best things about Jojo--shoutout to Revolver Amethyst for pointing this out to me--is that they BLATANATLY but legitimately get away with using band names as Stand Names or attack names, and so on.  It's genius.

In Japan they do. As was brought up recently, though, they can't do it much outside of Japan without getting in trouble due to the copyright laws of other countries. It's one reason why JoJo has so little influence outside of that area. It's very difficult to get the rights or an agreement on viable localization. Especially in the case of Prince, who defends his copyrights so strongly, and was ultimately response for the Vento Aureo game never being released outside of Japan (from what I remember).

Instead of J. Geil, Green Day, and Sticky Fingers, we get Centerfold, Green Tea, and Zipper Man.

Was there stuff in Part 1 and 2's manga that didn't make it into the anime?

If so, I have some reading to do...

Well, there's always going to be details that get left out. Off of the top of my head I can't think of any major differences (thankfully they did a very faithful adaptation), but they're still worth looking into either way. You will be seeing Araki's super early art style, though, so be prepared for a bit of shock there. They did a good job of mixing in the style for each Part with a more modern design, so it's no such a massive difference, but there's still exists one.

Honestly, I thought Purple Haze was terribly designed. Even Araki couldn't do anything with it. Sticky Fingers however...

Sorry, didn't notice this before. Purple Haze was a bit of a trainwreck, even when it became Purple Haze Distortion in one of the novels. However, it is a good example of how Stands aren't always that convenient or controllable. They mark down a Stand's Precision for a reason. Purple Haze's ability and visual design is pretty neat regardless of all that.

Purple Haze's terrible design was really because it has only 1 function compared to the protagonist stand's usual versatility, and the effectiveness of it in executing that function just threw the balance out of the window.

Distortion's pretty neat though, since the writer give it more ways to be applied in multiple scenarios.
