JoJo's Bizarre Adventure

Recommended Posts

(The old thread was turning a year old, and a new season of the anime is coming out, so I thought it might be okay to make a new thread. Sorry if I wasn't supposed to)

Here we discuss the long-running manga/anime series JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, known for its stylish and over-the-top action and quirky, unique, and memorable characters, and music references in names. There are a total of 8 Parts to the series so far, with the official anime adaptation of Part 3 coming out the week after this thread was posted.

As one might guess, I am a huge fan of the series myself ever since a friend of mine turned me to it. I started reading from the Part 3 manga and never stopped with the series since. For those who haven't watched or read JoJo before, you actually don't have to start from Part 1, or any part in particular, to understand what's going on. Each Part has a (mostly) new cast and theme, though they do have somewhat of an overarching plot. So you can really jump in from wherever.

Parts 2, 3, and 5 seem to be people's favorites for the most part, though, and Part 3 is where the concept of Stands--which are used throughout the remaining Parts--is first introduced.

just recently started reading jojo from the beginning after i saw the old OVA. Dio is one of the most fun anime villains i've ever had the pleasure of watching

In my opinion, Dio is one of the greatest villains of all time. As a fighting character even he is iconic. Most people on the internet have heard about him or a copycat of him one way or another.

Currently waiting for those-guys-who-are-not-duwang to finish translating Part IV. Then I'll continue with the rest.

Probably won't watch the anime right now (since I finished reading the manga recently, also haven't watched the 2012 one), but I'll do it when the nostalgia kicks in.

Also, Kira > Dio.

How far are they now?

(also, obligatory mention of Dio's boyfriend Pucci as the most successful JJBA villain).

So with it being so close (actually episode already aired & Crunchyroll released it) I remembered there were doubts Roundabout could be left intact on CR so I checked and well, of course they couldn't get away with having the anime but being unable to get the Roundabout. ;D
... I slightly forgot that Dio was just a head and stole Jonathan's body but in a few seconds realized that before Joseph said so.

Anyways, perfectly awesome introduction episode. Joseph's stand is awful and yes, it is hilarious. Already some personality to Jotaro, though it's cause for some disliking, personally, with the way he addresses his mother. Although Joseph's reaction, being the funny guy I know and love, was priceless.
