Toffee.
Also, I decided to look at Dxtroy since it was mentioned. The trial version (ie free) has a massive watermark at the top of the video.>Massive WatermarkLike, how big is it?

Tormented
Again there are "free" versions of Dxtory you can find.
Zeppeli Gyro Supreme
Again there are "free" versions of Dxtory you can find. There's free versions of everything on the internet. It's not really worth mentioning it's free if you have to get it illegally. Keygens are also extremely shifty, and oftentimes come with malware. Tormented
I'm not even talking about Keygens-Key activation is useless in the internet now, there are hardly any really good free recording software that is useful, Hypercam is okay but the watermark ruins it, same with a lot of things. I got Hypercam for free, legally, and it no longer has any watermark, as I mentioned before.
Tormented
The biggest problem I had when I used Hypercam is it's lack of options-perhaps it's updated since I last used it but I just feel Hypercam is lackluster for anything that isn't 2d
Nathanael D. Striker
I'd rather get something that I can get legally for free and that doesn't have a large watermark.

Just checked out that recorder Snatch provided. Seems pretty decent & it comes with it's own video editor. Need to do more testing for it though. Madsen
Ugh legal stuff. I mean I'm sitting on Camtasia/Dxtory/Fraps/OBS/Vegas/Premiere with a shitty PC so I can't really use any of that to the extent I'd like. Camstudio was the best free screen recorder IIRC, but if we want consistent quality you guys will want to get a bit of a better recorder. People who'll be doing LPs shouldn't look further than OBS, though.
Lt. Colonel Remo
I can back Madsen/Reus on OBS. Pretty simple and easy to use, looks effective and is completely free. Has the added bonus of being stream-able as well.
Toffee.
You know, guys, there IS a bit of a work-around with regards to Hypercam. If you record stuff with it, and said watermark appears- Just go into a video recorder of your choice and throw a black band or something over it =D
DL
Screencast-o-matic has a watermark that DOESNT with the size of area youre recording. meaning If you record a gameboy game, a really small window, supposedly...itll be pretty big But any fullscreen recordings or something of the nature, will make it look miniscule... Thar
Screencast-o-matic is pretty good, despite the lack of sound balance.
DL
For being free, its nice. Also, may I add, I find it VERY user-friendly.
Lt. Colonel Remo
Or we can totally, you know, buy the actual software =/ Vegas doesn't cost much does it? If I ever get around to doing a Let's Play I would want to make sure I had a good mic and software first.

Considering this is just a community project, and nobody is going to be making any money off of it, I don't think that someone should spend money on it. They can do that if they want to make their own channel, though.

Lt. Colonel Remo
That was my second question. If we ever get enough views, would we institute ads? For revenue and/or to give as offering to Lord YCMaker? £64 is still expensive for people to just throw out to edit videos for a community project. Okay well yeah but if this was a hobby you always wanted to explore and now you have the audience I wouldn't object to throwing around a little cash. I know I will. EDIT: We totally need a dramatic reading of every coolspy post ever.
a bad post
Username: H.N. Elly How do you plan to contribute?: I could manga/anime reviews, though I don't have any recording/video making equipment, so anything I do would have to be posted, PM'd to somebody in script form. I could also do DN Duels with anybody, though this would have to be between 9:00 - 10:00 pm UTC, which is when I know I could play without interruption, and even better on weekends, during which I would have more time. I'm pretty flexible, so I could do anything people asked me to do (like Hina's intern).
