We could, but in my opinion I think it'd be better to standardize it, so the channel has at least a little cohesiveness.  

Well so long as the logo is the prominent part of the intro then it should be fine. Plus It'd add a little bit of spice for each creator.

Here's the magical part, if the title card that says YCM Network is short enough, (3-5 seconds tops), people can make their own intro's to their own vids/series and have those after. 

 

Think of the YCM Network title card as the Hidden Block logo or Normal Boots logo.

Yeah, long intros are annoying. Someone skilled should definitely make the intro, though. That way everyone doesn't have to try to replicate it themselves and not only have a difference in the intro, but quality dips.

Machinima partners have done the "Have the channel intro before their own" type of ordeal for a while. So, I agree with using this style.

I suggest we use the existing logo, or one of our talented GFXers can make a logo SPECIFICALLY FOR the intro

 

Then one of our flash animators can do somethin fun with it.

For our intro, why not have the logo of YCMN appear in the middle of a white background; then a voice says 'You are watching the YCM Network'. Then as the white fades the logo shrinks down to the bottom right corner and the VoiceOver says 'And now it's time for...' which then reveals the title card for whatever segment you're watching. I think this better catches the idea of us being a TV Network and it shouldn't be that hard to do.

That's true. If Flash is going to be used, it should be for animating characters and stuff like that. Apart from that, it's not really necessary compared to After Effects and Premiere, which can do far superior jobs.

Also, I agree with Broken's idea. Go with that. Plus, not sure if this has been mentioned, but it should be less than twenty seconds - heck, less than six seconds if you can do that. Catch the viewer's interest.

Think 6 seconds is sufficient enough to make a decent quality intro.

 

With that said, I only have access to Flash and Photoshop, both of them CS3. (I don't see myself doing animated stuff, aside from maybe one of those Fanfic Duel sims if I remember how to do them)

Alright well my cousin has finally gotten the fuck out, so I can start work on the channel.

My two Flash Drive's came in yesterday which help offset the small amount of Disk Space I had to previously work with so I'll be able to do higher quality videos now. Still waiting on my mic though. :\

In terms of the noob video; nothing really much has been said (whether or not this is done as a community thing or since I mentioned it in my app, I do it on own)

 

If it's the latter, I have a short intro (trying to be dramatic, but it kinda sucks) and possibly going to add some basic stuff (in essence, what I'm telling new members NOT to do nowadays)
