Zeaux
2 Level 5 monsters During either player's turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 face-up monster and 1 monster from either players' Graveyard; the first target Level, Type, Effect, ATK and DEF becomes equal to the second target's Level, Type, Effect, ATK and DEF. When this card is destroyed: Target 1 monster from your opponent's Graveyard; banish that target. Actually, the effect has nothing to do with the Aliens, but anyway, it just looks like one so I had to name it that way. The original effect had one more part that was: "When this card is destroyed: Target 1 monster from your opponent's Graveyard; banish that target. Then Special Summon 1 "Invader Token" (Reptile-Type/DARK/Level ?/ATK ?/DEF ?). "Invader Token" has Level, ATK, DEF and effect equal to the banished monster." When I try to put it on YCM, the text gets too large and the card gets weird. Anyway, is the rank 5 spamable? Or should I make it Level 6, to get more uses on hieratic? Darj
I think it is fine as a Rank 5. If I remember correctly, there are more decks that can play Rank 5s than 6s. The effect is really cool, and it is as good as whatever is available in both graves. For instance, if Veiler (or any other weak monster without an on-field effect) is in either of them, you can turn your opponent's monster into a harmless target with virtually no effect; if BLS (or other powerful beaters), you can basically pseudo-revive it. In order to make the effect a bit more interesting and disrupting for the opponent, I think it could also change the name of the first target, to stop any of your opponent's play involving a specific monster. Now, it needs an OPT clause so you won't be able to double-summon beaters/disable 2 monsters in the same turn. And I'm not sure if being a Quick Effect would be balanced, even for a Rank 5. Zeaux
Thats a pretty good idea, and I totally forgot about the opt clause, it was meant to have that. The quick effect I made thinking about a walking pseudo-veiler, since we already have a broken, kinda of specific rank 5 (pleiades), this one should have something more interesting to see more use than the aforementioned
Darj
The thing is that the goal of RC is making balanced, well designed cards, regardless of the broken official cards Konami throws at us. Just because a badly designed card like Pleiades exists, it doesn't mean that making equally or more powerful cards is fine. And if you remove the Quick Effect, the card would be just fine; disabling a monster or pseudo-reviving a beater during your turn should be good enough.
