So with Bark to 1, I'm going 3/4 Axis this format.  Still gotta pick up a few things, but I should be able to get everything by the time the format starts.

Monsters: 15

3 Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Bear

3 Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Leopard

3 Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Rooster

1 Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Gorilla

1 Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Spirit

1 Cardcar D

1 Coach Soldier Wolfbark

2 Maxx "C"

Spells:15

3 Fire Formation - Tenki

3 Fire Formation - Tensu

1 Fire Formation - Gyokkou

3 Mystical Space Typhoon

2 Forbidden Lance

1 Book of Moon

1 Rekindling

1 Dark Hole

Traps: 10

3 Fiendish Chain

1 Fire Formation - Tensen

1 Call of the Haunted

2 Mirror Force

1 Bottomless Trap Hole

1 Compulsory Evacuation Device

1 Solemn Warning

Extra: 15

3 Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Horse Prince

1 Vulcan the Divine

2 Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Lion Emperor

2 Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Tiger King

1 Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Cardinal

1 Maestroke, the Symphony Djinn

1 Steelswarm Roach

1 Number 50: Blackship of Corn

1 Diamond Dire Wolf

1 Number 101: Silent Honor ARK

1 Gagaga Cowboy

Side Deck:

2 Effect Veiler

1 Thunder King Rai-Oh

1 Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo

1 Dimensional Fissure

1 Soul Drain

2 Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror

2 Light-Imprisoning Mirror

2 Twister

1 Imperial Iron Wall

Side Deck might need some work.  Would like a generic Rank 3 to throw in as well.

 • 2 weeks later...

Bump.

Deck is pretty much finalized for Regionals on Sunday.

A couple of things I am debating:

Should I main-deck Maxx "C" or Veilers?

Should I drop Rooster to 2 and play 2 Cardcars?  Or stay with 3 Rooster?

Which generic Rank 3 should I throw in and what do I drop for it?

Would like answers to theses questions with the next day or so.

Build looks pretty solid, I like D.Pris over Mirror Force right now though solely because everyone and their mom is going to be playing Zombies at this next bout of regs.

That's also why I'd go with Maxx in the main over Veiler. They're less likely to go ham under Maxx because no matter how many Beelze they drop, they'll be afraid that you're probably going to Cardinal next turn. Veiler does stop plays off of Zombie Master and initial set-up off of Lavalval, but if they have the ability to recover, Veiler didn't really do shit for you. Nor is Veiler all that useful in the Mermail match-up, and Maxx is still a break-even or more card in the mirror. Maxx is also typically more useful in the Geargia and Hieratic match-ups, though it can't stop the Synchro soft loop in Geargia the way Veiler can.

3 Rooster is more consistent and less likely to get you OTKed then going into a Cardcar first turn. I say drop a Horse Prince for Alucard. He's still the best rank 3 until PRIO drops.

Actually, I'm kinda expecting everyone and their mom to be playing Bujins, tbh.  Ban List didn't touch them at all.

Veiler also stops Dracossack in Mermails, but I do have Fiendishes for that so...I'll try Main-decking Maxx "C"s this time.

Alucard does sound like a good idea.  Will do that.

have you tried the 2 dragon and 2 tensen in this or are you scared because of what happened last time?

Not running Dragon, and not because I'm scared.  I tried it, and don't like it too much in the 3/4 build.

So went 5 - 4 with the deck at Regionals today.  Placeed 139 out of 471 participants.  Only thing I changed in the main deck was main-decking Maxx "C"s over Effect Veilers
Round 1
Galaxy/Photon/Evilfusion.dek
L-W-W
Opened up terribly Game 1, but next two games went swimmingly.

Round 2
Machina Gadgets
L-L
Opening with no backrow sux.  Enough said

Round 3
Mermails
W-L-L
Solemned something G1 and went off.  Couldn't get over Dracossack next two games.

Round 4
Lightsworn
L-L
Threatening Roar stalled me long enough to drop JD.

Round 5
Malefic Skill Drain
W-L-W
Got rid of his Barbaros G1, and poked.  Skill Drain shut me down G2.  G3 Topdecked MST late game and destroyed Necrovalley, getting rid of his Malefec CED.  Poked a couple turns with Rooster for game.

Round 6
Opponent a No-Show

Round 7
Cyber Dragons
W-W
Best opening hands of the day here. Was able to go off pretty quickly.  I had a response for just about everything he did.

Round 8
Six Samurai
L-W-W
Stardust and Shi En got me G1.  Black Horn'ed his Gravity Warrior G2.  G3, he has Naturia Beast, Grandmaster, and a Special Summoned Kagemusha, as well as Zanji normal summoned.  He attacks into my face-down Fossil Dyna.  I pop Zanji with Bear next turn, then topdeck Leopard with a Tensu on board.

Round 9
Beezle Zombies
L-L
Drew absolutely no monsters G1, and none of my side stuff G2.
Not too bad a night overall.  Came out with a winning record, and in the top Third. I was really surprised at the variety here, and faced only 1 deck that can be considered meta, and that was Mermails round 3. Most memorable game of the night was probably the first game against the Beezle Zombie deck. Even though I lost, it was pretty close the whole way.  The third game against the Malefic deck and third game against the Six Sams deck are close contenders for second.

Was really surprised that I faced no Geargia, Bujin or other Fire Fist players.
