So in my first try on this one's Rainbow Road I died 5 times and come in 4th, a lot better than the Wii's one. I guess I am better at Mario Kart now but not as good as Agro. What did you get Agro?

I played it on 50cc and didn't fall off once and got 1st by a landslide. I'll get back to you when I've played it at 150cc

I'm just trying to complete all the cups with 3 stars to start off. So far 5 for 5 in 50cc

Shell cup felt a little underwhelming... I mean besides Moo Moo Meadows Music and GBA Mario Circuit's atmosphere, geez.

EDIT: wait, when was it assumed that I'm really good at mariokart?

I thought so. Because I heard how easy you find like every Rainbow Road, Agro-Senpai.

I should still like Desu more but you like more things I do. <3

Also, I keep having Grumble Volcano problems, but that's kinda why I adore it. Finally placed first in it, and as such, got 3 stars on all 50cc cups. Tomorrow, I'll start 100.

Idk about every Rainbow Road. Double Dash Rainbow Road still causes me all sorts of issues.

Lol, I just played Grumble Volcano. There's always one pitfall that gets me.

Lightning Cup may be my second favorite behind Star Cup. I adore Tick Tock Clock and I like what they did with Piranha Plant Slide and N64 Rainbow Road.

Wow,  I just checked out a video of it. Double Dash has always made me wish I had a Gamecube, but when the Wii came around, I never once thought to try and get it, although there we still some Gamecube games in stores.

I... Well, I... I'm gonna have to say I can really agree on that.

I beat Special Cup with 3 stars on 150cc.  Those AI become ridiculously spiteful by throwing all their Red Shells at the player character.

That's why triple bananas are the best item for first place.

Too bad they somewhat nerfed Triple Bananas in 8.  Now, instead of lining up in a line, they circle around you.  It might not seem like much, but now blocking against a shell after a banana is removed becomes luck-based rather than the guaranteed lines of defense the other games previously had.  Actually, they nerfed the capability of using items defensively in general (such as not being able to get another item while you are holding out an item).

You can just drop the banana before the red shell hits you. But yea, making defensive item use a thing of the past is going to be interesting.

They DID make the thing that blocks the blue shell....and also deals damage to anyone around you XD

It's a fair trade-off.  Giving us a weapon against the frickin' Blue Shell in exchange for Defensive Item power seems logical.  Though, I hate how 50% of the time it feels like I'm getting the Coin item and my opponent gets the Red Shell and immediately chucks it.

The only nerf defensive items got was not being able to use 2 of them.

All the rest are still the same as long as you know how to play them.

It makes you reconsider whether to waste a shell or a banana to get ahead of one opponent in exchange for losing a defensive item.

Plus Bananas now defend all sides of you instead of just behind you.

The real nerf might be the triple mushrooms, which can now be stolen if you're not careful.

Also, I managed to Super Horn a Blue Shell on Dry Dry Desert... of which's name is funny now, btw, because it has an oasis.
