Any damage either player takes is halved the turn you activate this effect. You can only activate the effect of "Spring's Advent" once per turn. Card B While face-up on the field, this card's Level is increased by the number of cards in your hand. When this card is Normal Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 "Spirits of the White Flower" from your hand or Graveyard. When this card is Special Summoned: You can draw 1 card. goddamnit names are a pain
I absolutely LOVE card B. It's just so amazing, yet balanced in that that SS doesn't get you a Draw as well. It level morphs, which can also be nice. Card A is absolutely broken and should die in a fire. At least in my book. That Special Summon is just a bit ridiculous, with no restrictions on it at all. I appreciate the first bit because people with no cards in their hand can try more BS than this card already has. Now in regards to the contest - I feel the Art helps embody Spring in Card B =P I'd say that both cards CAN be competitive and both work fast. So the scales tip and my vote is cast upon Card B. Flash Flyer - Sakura
Card A: Free SS before the Draw Phase, but halves any damage dealt this turn. Card B: Gains Levels equal to the # of cards in hand, can SS another copy of self when Normal Summoned and allows a draw when SSed. As TGM already mentioned, card A's effect is broken (since it can summon ANY monster you want before drawing). The halving damage effect counterbalances it to some degree, but not enough to consider this balanced. Card B aids with Xyz Summons, allows a draw if SSing a copy of itself from hand/Grave and the OPT clause helps it not become abusable (though it's already balanced by the Normal Summon part). With that said, card B is taking it. (Keep in mind that I'm typing this at 2 am, so if anything sounds funny, sorry)
Aix
Card A: Free SS before the Draw Phase, but halves any damage dealt this turn. Card B: Gains Levels equal to the # of cards in hand, can SS another copy of self when Normal Summoned and allows a draw when SSed. As TGM already mentioned, card A's effect is broken (since it can summon ANY monster you want before drawing). The halving damage effect counterbalances it to some degree, but not enough to consider this balanced. Card B aids with Synchro/Xyz Summons, can replenish a draw if SSing a copy of itself and the OPT clause helps it not become abusable. With that said, card B is taking it. Card B doesn't draw when it Summons itself, mind you. Card A requires a turn to set up, slowing it down and giving your opponent an opportunity to destroy it if they judged that it would be too harmful. If you actually looked at the targets, any relevant monster already has some easy way to Summon it and you would need deck dedication if you wanted to do something else with it. Also any possible abuse through OTKs are stopped. It also does eat up your hand and you won't have a monster to Special Summon every turn unless you dedicated your Deck. Card B is insufficient as an engine since you can't easily splash it as few Decks have that kind of Level manipulation and space in Extra and it dies if you lack hand advantage. The setup is not worth the payoff and the only easy way to Summon it first is off of One For One. It is similar to Batteryman but Batteryman has synergy with the Hunders and you can get two of them in your hand with Seahorse. Even then, Batteryman isn't that great though it doesn't fail when you don't have an abundance of cards in hand.
Maeriberii Haan
I'll vote for Card B; since it has way more interesting applications than Card A (which is not really broken, as Aix said). Card B is searchable with Where Arf Thou, able to be summoned via Kinka-byo for a +1 Rank 1 Xyz Summon, and is also an instant rank 1++ on its own. Not to mention the level manipulation giving you more options in extra deck department. It'll be the card that ties Kinka-Piper decks even better, as it increases the deck's option, while also being able to answer a lot of the deck's former problems. It would've been boken actually, but the last clause actually is enough to make the card just versatile, not broken. Being EARTH instead of LIGHT also made it not a viable Chaos fodder or a target gor the new LV1 promo support. Card A is actually well designed from restriction perspective, but it'll either be just a win-moar card in decks that needed to do hoops just to protect it for a turn, or yet another way for decks like gadgets to put themselves far ahead of the opponent. It'll also be facing competitions from Pendulums.
Nathanael D. Striker
Alright, 0-3 Card B Since you popped in Aix, are the votes to your satisfaction (i.e. valid enough reason)? Aqua, same question. EDIT: Since no objections have come up, Aqua wins.
