Perfect Format

Recommended Posts

I watched them play this yesterday and it was certainly entertaining to watch. It did remind me a lot of Goat Format in that they both did require a lot of thinking and the entire duel went along fairly slowly. And as many know I am a fan of the concept of slow decks. I might make my own deck for this "Perfect Format".

Considering Ring of Destruction, and to an extent, Solemn Warning, are the only things one could use on the opponent's Battle Phase...
Ever tried Mystic Tomato?
I mean, you already have Guide for Sangan, and Premature and Reborn for whichever one(Not to mention Painful Choice), so it's possible Tomato could give someone the win. Assuming, of course, you pull it off, as far as making Sanwitch goes.
So really, Tomato seems like it could work O,o

You made Sandwich even easier to summon. Now I'll just play a bunch of mill and revive cards with an FTK draw engine. I can't seem to log onto DN to make the decklist, though.

Uhhhhhh okay good luck milling all your outs and getting totally smashed by the opponent's outs

They won't have any. It's the first turn, and I mill only specific cards because I have Foolish and Painful Choice. Plus Tour Guide searches Sangan to pull it off even easier. Plus I have Trunade, Heavy Storm, and Harpie's Feather Duster to get rid of backrow, and Delinquent Duo/Forceful Sentry for getting rid of veilers and other such nuisance.

So basically you're going to open up a bunch of specific cards every single game turn 1 to FTK with, okay. You can enjoy your inconsistencies.

You haven't actually played Perfect Format, because you can't really do that very easily. The decks are NOT that fast.

Actually, I built and tested these decks. The one I just built has a ~80% win ratio on turns 1 or 2, mostly 1.

This actually looks (And has been testing) terribly inconsistent.

Maybe you're not using it right, then, or I'm getting extremely good hands in the 20 duels I did. You can use Tour Guide to summon Sangan, then you just need to dump and revive Witch. Or if you went second you can suicide Sangan to get Witch with Last Will (or vice versa) and revive the other. Dimension Fusion allows you to summon another Sanwitch, or your pieces, if all else fails.

I did another few tests and got 2 busts, 1 first turn win, 2 second turn wins with a Dimension Fusion and a Book to secure victory, and 1 third turn win with Dimension Fusion. So it's not entirely consistent, but like I said, it isn't an optimal build either.

So at this point I'm going to question why you're trying to purposely break the format instead of having fun with it. I acknowledged that there will be problems that need resolving and that this format is still a work in progress. Pushing your points any further is, well, pointless.

I guess experimenting with an alt-win con is fun for him?
