Dark Souls / Dark Souls II

Well I couldn't make it to Firelink without being killed, I aggro'd the female undead merchant, and Oswald was being protected by the horde of pink dudes, making it impossible to reach him on just a quarter healthbar with my tank build (like one of their heavy hits killed me >.>). THERE WAS NO WAY FOR ME TO GET THE CURSESTONE THING BRO IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE. IF ANYTHING ELSE HIT ME JUST ONCE I GOT KILLED END OF STORY.

Of course I was offline the entire time I played it that time, so since then I believe a new patch prevents curse from stacking, right?

Uh.....bro I'm wondering how you got cursed in the first place.

Also the pink hoard is easy as hell to lure out. Bro do you even guard?

There are 2 people you can buy purging stones from. You'v killed one of them it seems. Go to the top of the church back up to the bell. The weird guy up there sells them. Alternatively you could try snuggly the crow.

The Depths. I underestimated the Basilisks and Leeroy'd it

Bro if there are even two next to each other a single hit while I'm attacking kills me. And since I went for a strength over dex build all my attacks were slow as hell and left me open for attack,

Again a single hit from most anything would kill me, and my build had the semi-fat roll so dodging and backstabbing was not an option.

I don't think you guys appreciate how hard it is to not get hit a single time =/

Anyways I'm much farther now than I was then so yeah. Trying to clear the Catacombs atm.

Two things- it is easy enough but dude unless your HP stat is a piece of crap even at 25% you would still take a hit and live

And secondly- there isn't really a "much farther" in Dark Souls. You can take any path you want and it doesn't really matter until you get to the end of the game.

Unless you have the Lord Vessel I'm going to advise you don't waste your time in the Catacombs. I did forget that there is technically a correct path at the beginning of the game- ring the two bells etc etc.

I don't think I upgraded my Vitality once. I seriously wasn't that far in first time around

Well yeah I suppose you're right, but I didn't get very far in the first playthrough (again literally didn't get past the Depths xD) and lost all interest. I'm much happier now that I've started on a fresh slate. Plus all those NPC's I killed aren't so dead now. I accidentally aggro'd Laurentius and I really wanted the pyro flame earlier on.

Any particular reason? It's not a cakewalk, but that's pretty far into the game isn't it? Why wait THAT long?

>not far

>at hydra

I assume you either got the master key or you just didn't upgrade the stat for a REALLLY long time. Not the the Hydra is crazy far in the game but it's a fair amount. River Basin Hydra?

The Pyromancy Flame did take me far I agree. Also you can beat the game without clearing the depths. I did so just for gits and shiggles.

The Catacombs lead to the Tomb of Giants. The monsters there WILL kill you in one hit maybe probably. Also the Lord Vessel does two things.

I won't spoil one, but I will spoil the other.

It opens up areas guarded by a golden light. Like white fog but golden. I doubt you've seen any as they guard the 4 bosses before the final boss. The Tomb of Giants leads to one of them.

Oh man oh man I've just gotten revenge on Lautrec and I'm on my way to beating Smough and Ornstein.

Smough is kinda easy to take out IMO. He only has like one attack that one shots you but isn't really that dangerous. f***ing Ornstein though that n***a will slice you up.

I can see why it's nicknamed Anal Rodeo

Pretty much what everyone thinks.

Ornstein+Smough was easy to me, after the first time or two dying. Solaire was amazing. Wait I think I beat it without him the first time 0_0

I only hate 2 things in Anor Londo- the Sentinels get pesky after a while and those gosh darn Great Bow-you-while-you-climb-a-ledge Silver Knights you first fought.

The rest was easy enough with practice.

Right so I'm not the only one xD

Yeah I'm doing this without Solaire. I've heard he's amazing against them, but I'm worried he might kill Ornstein first or something. Plus I want to experience the whole fight myself xD

I've only fought the fight once cause I've got homework and other things I still need to work on ;_;

Yeah I just kinda run by them now =/

and those gosh darn Great Bow-you-while-you-climb-a-ledge Silver Knights you first fought.

Strangely those guys weren't much trouble, I got by them in one go =/

The rest was easy enough with practice.

Yeah, my parrying is amazing now xD

Check the spoiler Remo if you want to learn something interesting that's up ahead of you in Anor Londo. Note it's only really important for faith characters or if your interested in lore.
If you kill Gwynevere (who is an illusion) Anor Londo will go dark. A fog wall will appear near the Darkmoon Tomb bonfire. Through it you will have to fight Gwyndolin. Prepare to die alot...........after you kill him. You can find a few chests in the room next to (seemingly) never ending corridor you fought him in. One of the chests contains armor and the other contains the miracle "Sunlight Blade". It's weapon buff that acts like other buffs.
Yeah I know about the whole Gwynevere illusion thing, but I wanted to join the Darkmoon covenant.

And maybe the Princess Guard.

BESIDES WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD ATTACK SUCH BEAUTIFUL MAMMARIES

I soon realized (and by soon, I mean Playthrough 4-5) that the Ring of Fog would solve my problems.

MAXIMUM NINJA RING

Bold: I sure would. No illusionary Chest will fool me. No matter how amazing it is. :p

If they have jiggle physics when you whip them then count me in

Quick question, is Quelaag's Furysword effective against Ornstein and Co.? I've been meaning to get a sword better than my current one anyways (Astora's straight sword)

Ornstien is weak to fire so it'll be good against him. Also, that weapon has a scaling with Humanity (max 10) so you could buff it that way though given humanity isn't the easiest to come by unless your on pc I can understand not wanting to waist it on that.
