Nathanael D. Striker
Rules 1. All Leaderboard and Tournament Rules Apply 2. First to 3 votes or most by 11:59 pm Pacific Time on March 19th wins. 3. Votes must have a valid reason. 4. Winner gets 1 Rep from loser. 5. I have the right to add rules. Card Requirement Create a viable RUM card. Simple, yet effective. Card A Activate this card when your opponent activates a Spell Card that would summon a "Number C" monster. Pay 800 Life Points: Negate the activation of the Spell Card and destroy it. You may then Special Summon a "Number C" monster from your Extra Deck, and attach this card to the monster as Xyz material. The summoned monster may activate it's effects, regardless of condition. The summoned monster cannot attack, and is destroyed at the end of your turn. Card B When a Spell Card effect resolved successfully (except this card's), the owner of the Spell Card must target 1 Rank 4 or lower Xyz Monster on the field (if able); the owner Special Summon 1 Xyz Monster from their Extra Deck with the same type and attribute and 1 rank higher than the targeted monster using it as the Xyz material. (This Special Summon is treated as an Xyz Summon. Xyz Materials attached to it also become Xyz Materials on the Summoned monster.) Each players can only activate this effect of "Rank-Up Magic, Starway to Enlightenment" once per turn. A player cannot summon monsters for the rest of the turn after activating this effect, and the summoned monster cannot activate their effect the turn they were summoned. When an Xyz Monster you control would be removed from the field by a card effect, you can banish this face-up card instead.
Aix
Card B cuz Card A is way situational.
Nathanael D. Striker
0-1 Card B
-Noel-
Card A is barely find its use, but the pseudo-original Xyz is sounds broken, not to mention is concept seems contradicted with the requirement (at least you should have RUM in the name) Card B is good, force you to Rank-up after any Spell card is activated, then lose the right to ss for the turn, plus an Xyz got Summoning Sickness, though with the protection I think this is good and balance, so my vote go Card B
Flash Flyer - Sakura
Card A: Negates an opponent's RUM (or whatever they use to summon a Number C), destroys it and then allows you to summon ANY Number C with this as an Xyz Material. Can't attack and blows up at End Phase. (It can use its effects though) Card B: Forces a player to Rank Up if a Spell resolves, then a summoning/effect lock. If one of the user's Xyz leaves the field, can banish self instead. (If name is factored into the requirement, then this card has it; card A does not). Regardless, vote goes to Card B for not being situational (though RUMs are used a lot as of late) and for balance (Card A can pull out something like C15 or whatever Chaos Number that is problematic for the opponent, activate the effect that turn and kill itself). Blue Amoonguss
Really? 0-3 against me? Well, I didn't look into the cards that could be summoned, so I guess Ain won this round. Still, personally, I don't see how the situational problem would be that bad compared to usage rate, and I'm a bit miffed about how oddly fast and one-sided this was, but I can't complain about the results, even though I'm ranting as we speak. Sorry. GG. '
