Canopy Star - Eon Sphere
When this card is Normal Summoned, shuffle all removed from play cards into their owners' Decks. This card gains 100 ATK for each of those cards. When this card is removed from play, both players remove from play the top 5 cards of their Deck. With Gold Sarcophagus at 1, which was this card's main form of abuse, could this be put up to 2 or 3? Or it is forever condemned to obscurity along with other cards that are on the F/L list from the GX era? Discuss because the list will be here in a week or so. Toffee.
Oh, you know.... Banish the top 5; Oh, hey, I just hit my second and 3rd Necrofa- GOTTA BANISH DEM OTHER 10 CARDS, GUISE
Canopy Star - Eon Sphere
I understand the point that if you banish 1, you have the possibility of banishing the other(s), but still, apart from Allure, Gold Sarc, or drawing it and using D-fissure or Macro, how is it getting banished in the first place without maining soul release or something like that? Bear in mind that all the cards I just mentioned (bar soul release) are limited, so its not exactly consistent. Plus, I doubt it would hinder too many decks of today if there was a deck that ran it at 2. Even at 3 you would need a miracle to hit all 3 in a row. Also, the main method of victory, which was flipping RFTDD during the end phase to banish another 15, can't be used any more.
Ultravires
Banishing as a summon requirement and as a cost is still a thing. Also Konami hates alt win conditions.
newhat
Summon Grinder Golem, ram a Token into Golem, activate Inferno Tempest, banish 3 Necroface from your Deck and roughly 15 cards from your opponent's Deck. All three Necrofaces trigger and banish 15 more cards from your opponent's Deck. Stall with D.D. monsters until they Deck Out.
Canopy Star - Eon Sphere
Ah, yes, I had forgotten Inferno Tempest. That would probably be the final nail in the coffin of the hopes of this ever coming back to more than 1.
Sleepy
You can also casually play around with it with the help of Leviair and cards like Interdimensional Matter Transporter. I don't doubt Konami could be letting it join the errata fever to prevent too much abuse, but even then.
ihop
Tempest Golem topped UK nationals a few years back with only a single Necroface. It's fine at 1.

Obviously I agree that Necroface at any more than 1 is retarded, but using UK Nats as a qualifier for any statement on the state of the game is kind of laughable when their Nats is barely the size of a US regional. Slinky
Yes, especially cause Konami just gave us Destiny Leo, Disaster Leo and Jackpot 7, they really hate alt win conditions To be fair, they really nerfed the shit out of Destiny Leo. Jackpot 7 is stupidly situational unless you build your deck around it. and Diaster Leo is Destiny Leo's upgrade. And its moderately more difficult to summon than other cards to summon, because you can't summon it any other way except by targeting Disaster with a rank-up (which already requires 3 level 8s), and then having to burn through 4 or so materials for the alt win, which is roughly the same amount of turns as Destiny Board. Ultravires
Yes, especially cause Konami just gave us Destiny Leo, Disaster Leo and Jackpot 7, they really hate alt win conditions All of those are incredibly situational and so inconsistent that even in a deck designed to pull them off it will rarely happen. Deckout is an incredibly real alt win condition in this game, now more than ever.

UK's quality playerbase is much higher than a region in the US's. Out of the 450ish players at that nats more or less all of them were playing top decks (literally like the bottom 10 tables, if that, contained scrubs). The thing about nats is that it's over 3 days so the only people prepared to pay the amount of money needed for a train fare to the place and then 2 nights accomodation are good players. I don't think UK nats are comparable to US regionals at all.

I've been to several countries' WCQs just to hang out or sell, including the UK, and none of them come close to the percentage of quality of players at even a small Socal, PA or Illinois regional. Just personal experience. Out of all of the foreign events I've been to, including regionals, Italy semed to have the most competitive meta. I saw maybe one tier 2 deck out of every 60-70 players at locals, regional and tier 2 event levels.

Canadian
Aside from the obvious deck outs this card is capable of bringing, the fact that your opponent will randomly lose 5 cards from their deck can potentially be very significant depending on what they are playing. If they don't have access to cards like Leviair, losing all of your remaining Tenki's for example would seriously cripple your deck. This is even better if the cards that are banished from your deck provide some sort of advantage (see: Dragons). I remember when Necroface was used as a one-of tech in Dragons because of it's ability to recycle your RFG'd cards as well as pitching it with Gold Sarc and possible getting a +3 from hitting all 4 dragons. Now that you could potentially draw into another copy later on or use something like BfaDD to bring your D-Rulers back, it could get even crazier.
