40-45 cards is good. 45 cards is usually what I used in a rough draft of a deck so I can see which cards work out for it, and which don't.

Logic says 40 cards in a deck to enable a player to maximize there chances of drawing a card that they may need.

There are some decks that arent affected by the 40 card rule.

i start with 45-47 when i start a new deck and play like 10-15 duels on gameking to test it and see which cards dont help me and which cards do, then i drop it to 43. i sometimes keep it 44 but never below 43 ^_^ dont know why.

41-45, because it gives you room to improve.

so if you duel for a while, and realize that one of your cards isn't as useful as you first thought, you can remove it without searching for a replacement.

but once you have your perfect deck, 40 is key.
