From what I read, an Avatar has to be put in play and then the player has to lose in order to die. Not playing an Avatar means there is no risk. But since it's your best card odds are you will play it even witht he risk.

To clarify how this works, avatar and duelist death results when The avatars's physical form (either its body, or its card) is destroyed, or if the duelist is killed. Death can only result from a duel if two avatars are played( one by each player). Thus, its safe to not play an avatar, but the only way to kill your opponent's is by making use of yours.

Avatar death does not result if the monster is destroyed as a part of the duel, because the game environment allows for revival, which causes a loophole in the transference spell's death clause that allows an avatar monster to survive destruction in a duel. This diesnt apply if theyre killed in a straight up fight though.

Name: Inanis Cor

Age: 19

Gender: M

Physical Description: Inanis is roughly 159 cm tall, though sometimes he might be 161 cm. He weighs roughly 67 kg, which gives him a slightly malnourished appearance. His hair is chestnut brown, and it is kept moderately short and spiky. Inanis has no definite facial markings, so it can be pretty easy to lose him in a crowd; though you can find him again by the dull look of his green eyes. Much of the time he wears various t-shirts, all with the words "Don't worry, be happy!" on them with a yellow happy face above the message. When it gets a bit nippy he will resort to an ill-fitting navy blue jacket, that comes complete with hand warmers in the front and a mangy fur ruff. He will alternate between either a long pair of white pants with flares in the knees, or a pair of brown shorts that come with at least 3 pairs of pockets on them. He will usually prefer to wear a pair of sandles that are falling apart; though again, when it gets cold he will instead resort to a pair of clean white trainers, with pink socks that also have the "Don't worry, be happy" sign on it. No matter what he wears, he will always be seen wearing his fingerless black gloves that run half-way up his forearms.

 

His normal duel disk is your typical university model trimmed with beige, but it is said that he possesses another, very rarely seen one.

 

Personality: Most psychiatrists would refer to him as simply 'dead inside', as he will show no emotion at all. Each and every single problem will be faced with a very cold and to the point approach. This makes him hard to approach, as he will usually only spare one or two words every time it's his turn to reply in the conversation. Despite his general apathy, he is still very driven in what he does, despite never really reacting much to startling or shocking things. This goes further in his dueling as he shows no surprise at trick plays, or heck, even seem to suffer when taking damage. His indifference baffles people as to why he even chose to come to the university in the first place.

In truth however, his heart is chained shut by Dread's manipulations, as he didn't need a sap fighting for him. As such, upon his successful closing of Inanis' heart, that was when he was given the name Inanis Cor, as a sort of in-joke to himself. Dread tends to pilot a lot of his actions in duels, but in social situations he is in full control. But what control that is is pretty ambiguous in and of itself. Because of Dread's machinations, Inanis cannot remember who he used to be, or what he used to be like. To put it simply, the moment Dread got his claws(?) on Inanis was the moment where who he use to be died.

Deck: Emptiness - A 60 card deck that mills at a frightening rate before unleashing the terrors of the high level Emptiness monsters.

Age: Since the first heart came to be

Physical description: Unlike most cards, the company that produced the card set Dread came from only produced one copy of his card before that freak fire that destroyed the building and everyone that was inside. No one else managed to obtain the template to continue making the set. How Inanis even found him was anybody's guess. 

 

Dread's true form is highly ambiguous, but those rare few that have seen him never speak of what they saw, or died by his hand(?). To most that do sneak glances of him for the mere second, he appears as a formless mass of dark matter. When he chooses to address others in this state, he will appear in a more humanoid form; though he will be completely two dimensional in this state, with four piercing red eyes and a wide open mouth with sharp teeth. These are the only parts of his body that will remain consistant, as the rest of him will shift randomly.

Personality: Cold, conniving and pretty much the epitomy of evil intent. All these words describe Dread perfectly. Dread is a top quality agent of the Empire; and he holds their ideals to a very high standard, largely because the Empire allows him to commit his many atrocities without fear of reprisal, not that that would stop him anyways. Most Resistance members are never worth his time unless he gets to torture them, so he will never directly address them unless necessary. Unbeknowst to the other Empire agents, Dread could care less for their actual goal. All he really cares about is destroying Resistance members, and with the added benefit of torturing humans as well. Well, how could he resist that?

He always speaks in an incredibly condescending tone, and he shows general disdain for, well, everything. He has an ambivalent relationship with the Resistance, since he loves that he can destroy them without reprisal, but at the same time finds them tedious and stupid for trying to fight against what is inevitible.

 

He possesses little to no cares for Inanis, as the boy is really just another vessel for which to unlesh his evil to the world. He will protect him however, if his own life would be at stake. And if worst comes to worst, he will simply abandon the boy to find a new and much better host.

Name: Kenju Toritsukareta

Age: 21

Gender: Male

Physical Description:
Kenju is a long, but slim young man. His eyes are violet, which isn't a natural eye color. Kenju is very long, even though he is slim. Most girls describe him as being very handsome. His father was born in England, so he is half british, which you can hear in the way he speaks. His black/brownish hair is quite long for a man, reaching his shoulders. He wears a black shirt with a golden cross on it (like shown on the image) during school, with "warrior" written in Kanji on his neck. While he is outisde of school, he is wearing formal suits. Most of the times these suits consist of a black jacket, white shirt and a red tie, with black pants under them. He isn't athletic, as he is tired after running for half a minute. He wears black leather shoes at all time, which aren't really comfortable. His duel disk is a white version of the Dark Signer duel disk, which turns a dark red color when playing his Infernity deck.

Personality: Kenju is truely evil, but he acts like a decent human being to others. Those who know him at school would describe him as a true gentleman, threating both boys and girls nice. He is rarely rude, and he sounds honest when he speaks. He seems to be very kind to his friend, and he is helpfull when people ask him for help. He is considered really smart, having one of the highest grades in class. Kenju is a smooth talker, almost being able to convince people into killing themselves, if he wants to. Kenju doesn't seem to have any hobbies beside dueling and studying. This is however false, as he studies foreign languages, being able to speak latin Fluently, using it to communicate with his Avatar, Infernity Death Dragon. Kenju's "true" personality is a sadist who is unable to control his own emotions. This is because his card has already taken control over him, showing his true side during duels. Outside of duels, the dragon releases his control a bit, as Kenju is a true gentleman, but he is just a host to the dragon. He is hetrosexual, and has a strong interest in the female body. He tends to proof this at the most random timings during a duel.

Deck: When dueling against "friends" or teachers, he runs a warrior synchron deck, which focusses at synchro summoning big monsters and beating up the opponent.  When playing seriously, he runs an Infernity deck focussing on summoning his key card, Infernity Doom Dragon and other strong synchro monsters. He runs Infernity, as he feels that the gods decide whether he should continue helping Death Dragon, or ending his way of living. The luck-based part of Infernity, top decking the right cards, show this. His warrior deck represents his human gentleman way of fighting.

Misc. Information: Kenju loves pancakes. He tends to read pornographic magazines during his free times. Death Dragon allows this, to fool opponents a bit who try to read his mind. Kenju dissagrees with Death Dragons goals and attitude, but he helps him out of free will.  (optional)

Name: Infernity Death Dragon

Gender: Male

Age: Unknown, but he is really old

Physical description: Infernity Death Dragon looks way different from the actual card, he actually looks like a dragon instead of a hybrid between some creatures. He is black, and his height is about 3x the size of Kenju

Personality: Infernity Death Dragon could be best described as true evil. His only emotions are hate and anger, as his goal is to destroy every living thing that exists. He wants to take over control of the whole universe, and become the king of the new world. He is very hatefull towards his enemy, as he shows zero respect. The only one he respects are his fellow Infernity monsters, and Kiryu himself, because he sees him as an interesting creature. He sees himself as superior compared to other monsters, thinking of them as a waste of oxygen. The only reason he likes the other Infernity monsters is because they adress him as their lord. He is the polar opposite of Kenju, and he still wonders why Kenju has an infernity deck to begin with. His goal is to exterminate all human beings, and enslaving the other duel monsters. The only one he will keep alive is Kenju, because he helps him achieve his goals, and because they are linked. He also sees himself as a king already, looking down onto other duel monsters, calling them fools, and even laughing at them, saying he will enslave them all

Lore: 1 Dark Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
This card's name becomes "Infernity Doom Dragon" while it is on the field or in the graveyard. Once per turn, if you have no cards in your hand, you can select 1 monster your opponent controls. Banish that target, and inflict damage to your opponent equal to its DEF. This card cannot attack.

Misc. information: Just like Kenju, he loves pancakes. His actual battle skills are quite bad, thats why he just casts a spell to banish the opponent. He is too lazy to attack, even though he is great at defending himselve.

Yeah... so i ended up being out until 6 am last night and literally just woke up. Since it would be a bit unfair to those of you who turned in your apps during that time to not have me read them over for errors/etc., I'm extending the deadline by 2 hours to give me time to work on that. Name: Naoki Saotome
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Physical Description: Naoki is a striking young man with a somewhat effeminate build and structure, with long black hair tied into a braid, regal purple eyes, and fair skin. His eyes are very keen, and he prides himself on the state of his body, which is slender, but toned and capable of utilizing the martial arts he prides himself in practicing. Naoki favors Chinese-style clothing in the form of long-sleeved, short-sleeved, or sleeveless shirts of various colors, black pants that seem to be dark-blue or a bluish-green, and slip on shoes. He also wears a tank top, either as a undershirt or not, and when he "dresses up", will usually put on a Mao suit, including the signature cap with a star in front. However he has also dressed in Western formal wear on a few occasions, such as a tuxedo, or even more casual clothing that can breathe a bit easier. He always makes sure to have some semblance of grace and poise with his movements, making him popular with the ladies.
Personality: Naoki is very reserved and calm, rarely getting upset or angry when he talks, and always speaks in a formal fashion. Unfortunately, despite his eloquence, he can easily get flustered or embarrassed at things, especially when they are something that he considers lewd. He sees martial arts as an excellent way to hone one's body, mind, senses, and soul, and regularly practices a wide variety of forms and schools. He also possesses a low tolerance for people who try to steal from him, manipulate him, or otherwise treat him very badly, as well as those who malign anyone he considers a friend or comrade. At the same time, he can also be very forgiving and usually doesn't seem to stay mad for very long, reigning in his temper and trying to be the one with the moral high ground. Still, he doesn't really think much of his bishounen persuasion, and always tries to be kind and gentle to those around him. With this charisma and charm, combined with a sharp intellect and a keen sense of observation, he has become a prodigy, entering the prestigious Shian University at only 18.
Deck: Fire Fists. He uses his deck like he does his body, and can quickly adapt to any strategy.

Name: Dark Senshi Ixion
Age: Unknown, but appears to be in her late teens to early 20s.
Gender: Female
Physical Description: Ixion is a strange visual mix of Dark Signer and Sailor Senshi, with an intricate design to her form. Shye has long pink hair possessing black highlights cascading down one side of her head in an intricate braid, and her eyes are pink with black sclera. Her skin is very pale, and her body is lithe, but powerful. Her sailor fuku has several unusual design elements, such as a choker, collar, skirt, glove fittings, and boots that are black with pink designs resembling those of a true Dark Signer, while her front bow has a butterfly-like design of varying shades of pink, trimmed in black. Her back bow is very long and made from a form of silk, and the bow strings seem to be prehensile, and the bow itself can enlarge itself to act like wings. A pink flame-shaped pendant with obsidian trim hangs from her choker, matching the one on the pink belt around her waist. Her earrings are red and resemble flames, and her tiara is black with a pink gem. A masquerade-like mask merges with her mask, to partially cover her face.
Personality: Ixion is capricious and whimsical, choosing to go after whoever she wishes, and possibly obeying Ha Des' commands in the process. While making herself out to be cute or beautiful, behind the bubbly facade is a barely-checked temper, and it doesn't take much to set her off on someone. It is best to not get on her bad side, no matter how difficult it is to stay on her good side. She loves toying with her opponents and playing games of cat-and-mouse with them, but will stop paying games if her opponents seem like they are starting to win, or find a way to shift the advantage over to them. She has very little concept of honor, and might choose to go against her own word at the turn of a hat. She also seems to have no concept of morals or ethics, thinking her mind if it can get people upset, but teasing others with her secrets. Ixion's main strength is the powers she can channel through her Avatar, allowing her to summon and control pink flames which she can choose what they burn. Due to her unpredictable nature, she is a very dangerous foe, and a force to be reckoned with.
Deck: Fire Kings. She focuses on destroying the competition and utterly dominating over her foes through the repeated usage of her Avatar.

Name: Dark Fire King Avatar Garunix
Gender: Female
Physical description: Garunix looks like a twisted, distorted version of herself, losing her colorful plumage for something truly monstrous and malicious. Now possessing a red, black, and purple color scheme, her body is covered in ragged, tattered feathers that emit a painful heat from them. Her beautiful golden headdress and armor has been turned into more evil-looking black, grey, and purple designs, bearing symbols of death, instead of being a representative of life, death, and rebirth. Her body is morphed into sharper, angrier shapes, with blades and edges where there used to be graceful curves. Garunix isn't even a dark counterpart of herself, still rather bright with an angry version of her primary color, a bright crimson, but is truly a beast of utter evil and depravity, wishing nothing but destruction and vengeance on everything she sees. She is truly Dark.
Personality: Garunix is nothing but all-consuming rage and power, barely coherent in her screams of bloody murder and her new-found urge to destroy all she sees. There is little left of the original avatar of fire inside of Garunix, the poor creature having been enslaved by Ha Des' power and transformed into her current state to give to his servants. She would never bend to the will of Ha Des willingly, so foul magics have been worked on her body and mind to make her more...compliant...and thinking in the same mindset as Ha Des wants. The deity of all that fire represents, the High Avatar of the Fire Kings, has become nothing more than a weapon to be aimed at, and watched as she engulfs everything in a technicolor inferno. However, deep down inside, some measure of Garunix still exists...and there is a chance that the proud beast could be freed from her current state of torment and suffering, her pleas to destroy everything including herself with it. Her rage must be directed properly, or simply snuffed out to end her misery and pain, or else it will continue to be used by the forces of evil...
