Yu-Gi-Oh! The Avatar War takes place in an alternate universe to the one featured in the first three Yu-Gi-Oh! series (Duel monsters, GX, and 5D's). Physically speaking, this world is virtually identical to that world. While certain locations pertinent to the plot of the rp will obviously be unique to this universe, locations such as Domino city, the Nazca Lines and the Island upon which Duel academy was built in GX exist. As well, this world's history is quite different, and characters from the original universe are for the most part non-existent. While the game of duel monsters in this universe is played in the same way as in the canon universe, its origins are quite different. This means that certain cards pertinent to the plots of the anime are non-existent or otherwise altered. The list is short, and will be detailed in a later section.

The rp will be primarily set in and around the city of Critica, a large college town located some distance down the coast from Domino City. It will take place during the years which compose the time gap between GX and 5D's in the canon universe (Circa 2017 or so, roughly). While it is still a large city, Critica is far from being the packed metropolis that is Domino. Rather, Critica is, on the whole, a relatively clean and spacious city. Being located in southern Japan, and situated on the shore, Critica is fairly warm throughout the year. The City is known for its beaches, which attract tourists and locals alike during the summer months. Critica boasts a large board walk as well as several public beaches for recreation. The city's downtown is known for its many restaurants featuring international cuisine.

Specifically speaking, the rp will be set at Shian University, one of the world's top dueling colleges, which is located in the city. The University attracts students from throughout the world, and as a result the campus (and by extension the city) is quite diverse. The campus is somewhat isolated from the rest of the city, being a short drive away from the beach or downtown. The University is home to approximately 20,000 students. Most students live on campus in the school's dorms, although many seniors elect to live in the city proper. The campus's most notable feature is a new stadium built to accommodate the newest fad in the dueling world: Turbo duels, which feature a racing element and new field spells.

Before getting into the main plot of the rp, a little ancient history pertaining to this world's version of duel monsters is necessary.

Unlike the canon universe, Duel Monsters are not the spiritual residents of another world. Rather, before the rp's recorded history, Duel Monsters walked the earth along side ancient humans, who possessed the innate racial ability to use magic. During this ancient time, Duel monsters were used as weapons of war by human nations. Tired of being used to fight the wars of humanity, a large portion of Duel Monsters rebelled against humanity and formed a nation of their own, led by a group of monsters known as the virtuous seven (The Monarchs Zaborg, Raiza, Mobius, Thestalos, Granmarg, Delg, and Kuraz). In the aftermath of the revolt, the nations of the Duel Monsters and humans attempted to peacefully coexist, and the virtuous seven abdicated their shared throne to a new leader: Caius the shadow monarch.

Human leaders, as well as Caius, sought to conquer the other, and within a few years a massive genocidal war broke out between humanity and Caius's Duel Monster nation. The Virtuous Seven, horrified at the atrocities Caius was committing in the name of freedom for their kind, sought to challenge him for their throne. In a titanic battle, Caius felled each of the seven in turn. However, this battle resulted in a certain segment of the Duel monster population question the righteousness of their cause. These monsters then defected to the side of the beleaguered humans, and formed an alliance with the goal of peacefully ending the conflict.

However, by this point, humanity was too far depleted to have any hope of winning the war. In a last ditch effort, the human aligned monsters took a final stand against Caius's forces while the last human nation prepared the largest magical force in history through a massive blood sacrifice costing the lives of millions. As the Allied monsters' defensive line broke, the humans cast the spell, forever banishing all duel monsters to an alternate dimension and in the process stripping humanity of all its magical abilities.

In the aftermath, humanity began to rebuild while in the other dimension, Caius's empire tired in vain to magically re-enter earth. Ultimately, Caius's already shaky grip on the empire failed, and his nation crumbled with his assassination. A series of bloody civil wars followed, and in the proceeding millenia, Duel monsters became factionalized and divided. Even today many battles rage for dominance of the Monster world.

In the modern human world, The duel monsters card game was created based on the hidden racial memory of this war, with humanity blissfully unaware that the worldwide phenomenon is based on actual events. Instead of just I2 or Kaiba corporation (although these companies are active), Duel monsters cards are manufactured by numerous competing companies, with powerful cards from each company creating a sort of arms race in card usability and power. The game of duel monsters has an international commission that regulates the use of cards, and is responsible for publishing limited and forbidden cards lists.

In the present day, a sect of Duel Monsters still loyal to Caius's ideals has gained a following in the Monster world, and a revived empire has begun to take root. Led by the enigmatic Ha Des, the empire has found a way to bypass the barrier created by humanity's final spell. Ha Des's agents have begun to infiltrate Earth once again through a process known as Avatar Transference, whereby a Duel Monster is permanently transported to earth through the spiritual possession of their corresponding card.

This process creates a similar phenomenon to spirit bond between duelist and monster seen  in GX, but with a few key differences. First, the bond created results in a link between the lives of monster and duelist. If one dies, so does the other. Second, the monster's possession of the card allows them to influence the duelist's mind, and over time exert full control over them. Third, the possession modifies the card itself, changing its name and effects to that of a new Avatar card (how this works will be explained in full detail in the important information section). As long as an avatar card is in play on a duel disk, the Duel monster can control the solid-vision hologram as if it were its own body. Often, the hologram becomes organic with the possession. Lastly, should the possessed duelist lose a duel in which the avatar card is in play, the transference spell is broken, and the monster in the card will die.

Ha Des's agents have been using this process to slowly wage a shadow war against humanity; destabilizing the balance of peace in the world and sometimes wreaking open havoc on the population. However, fear of destruction has caused them to be very cautious, and most are hesitant to reveal themselves at all, preferring to subtly work behind the scenes to undermine humanity so that eventually a full scale invasion will be feasible.

In response to this, Monsters still loyal to the Virtuous seven's ideals, now a resistance force against the ever-growing power of the new empire, have stolen the knowledge of Avatar Transference from Ha Des's empire, and have begun to send their own agents to Earth with a modified process that allows the duelist to retain their free will.  Hoping to enlist the aid of the duelists who's decks they have come to inhabit, the few resistance monsters have their work cut out for them if they wish to prevent the empire from gaining enough ground to start another war. A war that the magic-less human race cannot win....

1. This rp is rated PG-16. Normally, this means that it would contain a medium to high amount of blood and gore, a medium to high amount of profanity, and low to medium amount of sexual content. While this rp might end up containing some of these things, the rating is more of a precaution in case those situations occur in the rp. Thus, while it is perfectly acceptable for posts in this rp to reach PG-16 levels of violence, profanity, ad sexual content, there is a decent chance that this rp will see a lesser amount of this than your average PG-16 rated rp.

2. The rp takes place on a college campus. Thus, while it isn't required, its strongly recommended that your characters be faculty or students at the University.

3. While this is a Yu-Gi-Oh! rp, in addition to dueling, this rp will also contain a good amount of traditional rp combat between monsters, and occasionally humans. As well, this rp will be using the current TCG banned list, so all character's decks must adhere to it.

4. The rp will be structured similarly to an anime or manga. It will have story arcs and chapters denoted by me in the title of the IC thread.

5. The optimal number of participants for this rp is three other than myself. It will begin when three participants have been accepted. That said, I'm perfectly willing to accept more. As long as the accepting tag is in the OOC thread, you are free to apply.
Altered/non existent cards:

Here is the list of all cards that are altered or do not exist in this universe.
Creator god of light Horakhty, Armityle the chaos phantom, Exodia, Exodia Necross, Exodius the ultimate forbidden lord, shooting quasar dragon

The Egyptian god cards are all now LIGHT attribute, with Ra being a winged beast, Slifer being a dragon, and obelisk being a fiend. All "Numbers" monsters are simply referred to by their names, and do not posses number designations. As well, all Number C/number S monsters are now simply referred to as CXyz/SXyz. Any cards that refer to to Number C/Number S monsters now refer to the corresponding CXyz/SXyz.

Avatar Cards, or cards that are inhabited by duel monsters, are a central part of the rp's plot, and your character will begin the rp in possession of one. This is a handy guide to how they work to help you in both creating and roleplaying as these monsters.

An avatar card may be based on any monster card that exists in the TCG/OCG, or based on a card that you have created and I have approved.

When possessed, a duel monsters card morphs into an Avatar Card. An avatar card's name always changes to one similar to the duel monster it contains, usually containing the monster's given name, and the card art also changes to resemble the specific individual inhabiting the card. For example, if Mahado, the original dark magician, were to inhabit an avatar card, the card's name would read something like "Mahado: The Dark Magician", and the card art would depict an Egyptian man in the dark magician outfit, rather than the regular card art of Dark Magician.

All avatar cards have the same stats, level (or rank, if its an Xyz), and summoning conditions (alternate or otherwise) as the original card. For instance, Yuma Tsukumo's ace, Utopia's avatar card would still be a rank 4  LIGHT attribute Xyz monster requiring 2 level 4 monsters to summon with 2500 ATK and 2000 DEF.

However, Avatar cards's effects change upon possession to effects that better suit the battle preferences of the inhabiting monster. These effects are always at least somewhat reminiscent of the original monster's effect, but are often improved in some way. For example, a Galaxy-eyes photon dragon avatar's effect could be expanded to include non-Xyz monsters in its banish effect, so that it gains ATK from the level or rank of the banished monsters. If the original card was a normal monster, than the avatar gains an effect that seems appropriate.

As well, all avatar cards include this clause in their card text. "This card's name becomes "[name of original card]" while it is on the field or in the Graveyard.

Ive included a few examples based on monsters featured in the anime to give you a feel for what an avatar card is like. Please note that when submitting your app, it is not necessary (although its recommended) to create a card in the card maker. simply including card text is fine, however.
ozICiqw.jpgf65XnA3.jpgV6c6N8w.jpgAb6vQTu.jpg
While inhabiting an avatar card, a duel monster possesses certain abilities. While the card is play, the monster can freely control the hologram (which becomes entirely organic) as their body. As well, the monster is now bonded to the owner of the card. If the duelist should die, the monster dies as well, or vice-versa. The Monster can, at any time, communicate telepathically with anyone who has come in physical contact with the card, and the duelist in possession of the card may likewise communicate telepathically with the monster. The monster may also project an translucent apparition of them-self that can only be seen by those who have been in physical contact with the card. Should the duelist lose a duel in which both their the avatar card and an avatar card belonging to an opponent was played, the spell will be broken, and the monster will die. If the monster is loyal to the empire, they gain an added ability to psychologically influence any human they come in contact with. Prolonged periods of exposure result in the monster gaining full control over the human's mind. As well, should an empire Avatar be killed via the loss of a duel, the human that the avatar was controlling will live. If the monster is loyal to the resistance, they lack this ability due to the weaker derivative of Avatar transference used by the resistance. If a resistance  avatar is killed via the loss of a duel, the human who first came into possession of the avatar cad will also die. Resistance monsters are only able to fight at full strength in their organic body if the monster and duelist are emotionally in-synch with each other.

Just some story flavor that i didn't really wanna clog up the plot post with. mostly non-essential for your applications, but it will still help if you read it. Might get updated/moved to a different section later.
The Resistance is a small paramilitary army of duel monsters dedicated to stopping the expansion of Ha Des's empire. Athough the resistance is more of a loose conglomeration of armed groups rather than a cohesive whole, it is nominally led by Lion Heart, an old general whom once served a nation that was conquered by Ha Des. He is a tactical genius, and an inspiring leader. The resistance's ranks consist of monsters from all walks of life, and some do not have formal military training. While many of its members share the same ideals as their predecessors in the human-monster alliance, the resistance is by no means connected in any way to the alliance of the old war. In fact, many of its members are virulently humanophobic and hate humanity for exiling them to the other world. Currently, The resistance's avatar monsters number somewhere in the realm of 50, although it is impossible to tell how many active resistance avatars are on earth, since there is no way at the moment for the resistance to contact them or even figure out how the conflict is progressing. For the avatars fighting on earth, the war has become a lonely one. Most have no way to contact their allies unless they happen to come into contact with a fellow avatar by chance. That said, there are a few units or resistance Avatars that operate on earth, having been transferred around the same time to roughly the same location.

Founded some 20000 years ago in secret, The empire has only become a known, credible threat to to the status quo in the duel monsters' world within the last 40 local years. The empire's power is such that it has conquered roughly one third of that world since starting its campaign, with its only real hindrance being the resistance's constant guerrilla warfare. The Empire is founded on the philosophical tenets established by the late Caius, and its ruling class advocated the conquest of both worlds and the utter extermination of humanity. Aside from its emperor, the empire is run by a series of officials, the most powerful of which being the viziers: 6 monsters each governing the segment of the empire's population that falls into each vizier's respective elemental attribute. Currently, the empire has sent a total of about 300 avatar monsters to earth, with many of these agents going entirely undetected by resistance avatars.

It takes a special breed of individual to volunteer to be sent to earth as an avatar, regardless of who's side the volunteer is loyal to. The Avatar Transference  process is both incredibly painful and permanent, and actually destroys the physical body of the monster that exists in the duel monsters' dimension, sending only their soul to earth, which possesses the first compatible card it comes in contact with. Once an avatar is sent to earth, they will never be able to return, nor communicate with the duel monsters' world in any way. Before being sent to Earth, avatars are given the best combat training their side has to offer, as well as training pertaining to their mission (subversion and psychological warfare for empire avatars, while some resistance avatars are given some diplomatic training as well as the skillsets required to hunt down and pursue empire avatars).

Name: Trey Katou

Age: 19

Gender: Male
anime-art-boy-Favim.com-316946.jpg

Trey is slightly thin and of average height and build for someone his age. While it would be incorrect to describe Trey as athletic, he is most definitely not out of shape, and its fairly obvious to an onlooker that Trey works out on at least a semi-regular basis. Trey stands at 5 foot 11 inches tall, and has sort of long, straight black hair and pale blue eyes. Trey has astigmatism, and wears contact lenses to correct his vision, or a pair of square-rimmed glasses if he doesn't have his lenses in. Trey enjoys listening to metal music, and usually wears t-shirts depicting his favorite bands or musical themes in general. He tends to try to stay comfortable, and so normally dresses as casually as possible. He's most often found in sweat pants or one of his several pairs of worn blue jeans. Trey likes to run, and so is almost always wearing a pair of black running shoes. When it gets cold, Trey usually wears a black jacket with a high collar. He also owns a seldom-worn pair of hiking boots. Although it is very rare, Trey looks very handsome and dashing when he dresses formally, usually in a suit and tie. In fact, he's pretty attractive in general, but the fact that he dresses poorly downplays this quite a bit. Trey rather enjoys beef jerky, and can usually be seen munching on a stick of it, or chewing on gum to freshen his breath after finishing said stick. His duel disk is a standard model (resembling the Kaiba corp disk) colored white with dark red trim.
Personality: Despite the rather dark and gloomy coloration of his wardrobe, Trey is a rather kind and thoughtful person. He's a bit soft spoken, and is rarely prone to outbursts of emotion, whether it be happiness or sadness. Trey is almost always calm and rational, and can usually be counted on to give thoughtful insight or helpful advice if asked. Trey is a bit shy, and he doesn't really stand out in a crowd. He isn't withdrawn to the point of being a total introvert, however. Trey is very intelligent, and is quick to grasp concepts and ideas. This extends to his dueling as well, where his well thought out plays tend to be made quickly.  When explaining something to someone, Trey often uses a simplistic metaphor rather than outright explaining the concept. Trey is a bit self conscious, and suffers from an inferiority complex. As a result, he is often more humble than he should be, and will occasionally make fun of himself or depreciate his own talents. This extends to his appearance as well, since Trey rarely dresses nicely. Trey doesn't like letting anyone see him wearing his glasses, and so he wears his contact lenses as much as possible. Trey is rather creative (so much so that he is attending Shian University to become a card creator), and enjoys writing (admittedly bad) stories and sketching anything from people to landscapes in a series of notebooks he usually carries with him in his backpack.

Deck: Chaos Dragon Synchro/Xyz. Trey's deck is composed of a reliable and adaptable main deck base that can both hold its own and complete a plethora of varied summons from Trey's ever-changing extra deck.

Ace Card: Red Dragon Archfiend/ Vermillion Dragon Arz Goedia

Avatar monster: Arz Goedia (Red Dragon Archfiend)

Theme song: Hang on- Lo-Pro

Misc. Information: Trey is just beginning his sophomore year at Shian.Trey loves to watch movies in his free time, and has quite the collection in his dorm room. Trey is actually from America, and is only  one quarter Japanese, hence his non-Japanese name. Trey is conversant in Japanese and fluent in English, however he occasionally gets his Japanese wrong and sometimes needs someone to translate a word or two for him. Trey is surprisingly tolerant of Arz's attitude, despite the dragon's open hatred of him, although Trey is just as apt to ignore Arz as he is to converse with him. When he's inebriated (which occurs whenever his roommate drags him out to a party) Trey's inferiority complex fades just as much as his intelligence. In other words, a drunken Trey is a confident airhead with no filter. Shenanigans usually ensue as a result.

Name: Arz Goedia

Gender: Male

Age: Unknown

Physical description: Arz looks virtually identical to his card art, although he is a tad smaller than one would expect him to be, only standing at around 21 feet tall. As well, his pupil-less eyes are a bright golden color rather than the usual orange. He smells a little like ozone. HE tends to flash an evil-looking smile (well, a draconic approximation, anyway), when he has the upper hand in a fight or one of his insults has gotten under someone's skin.

Personality: Despite Arz's ferocious looks, he's rather subdued and calm. By no means is he friendly or accessible, but he isn't the wanton engine of destruction the one would expect a monster called Red Dragon Archfiend to be. One could best describe him as brooding. Arz gets along with humans about as well as any empire agent does, and honestly could not care less about the state of humanity. In all honesty, its a safe bet to assume that he hates humanity for exiling Duel monsters from earth millenia ago, and considers humans vastly inferior to duel monsters. He especially dislikes the duelist who's card he came to inhabit: Trey Katou. Arz sees Trey's creativity as a useless waste of time, and see's no point in Trey's soft spoken-ness and roundabout metaphorical explanations. In fact, the only thing the two really agree on is their shared love of movies, which Arz will stubbornly refuse to admit that he enjoys. Arz is vehemently passionate about putting a stop to the Ha Des's machinations, and hates the empire as much as if not more than the humans he was sent to earth to protect. Arz is fiercely proud of his draconic heritage, and scoffs at the notion that he could in any way be similar to the archfiends the make up Ha Des's inner circle. In short, Arz is condescending, stubborn, and very, very driven.
NC9tXM9.jpg
1 Tuner+ 1 or more non-Tuner monsters

This card's name becomes "Red Dragon Archfiend" while it is on the field or in the Graveyard. When this card declares an attack, you can destroy one card on the field, other than the attack target.

Misc. information: Arz is quite brutal in combat, often using his absolute powerforce attack to strike an opponent's face or vulnerable weak spots. Unlike most dragons, Arz is physically able to speak, and, having a mental link to Trey, is as fluent in English and Japanese as he is. He has a guttural, deep growling voice. The "Goedia" in Arz's name is not in fact a surname, but rather a  unique title, which is similar in function to a nickname, that is given to each member of his species upon reaching adulthood. These titles are replaced by different ones when a Red Dragon Archfiend accomplishes great deeds, or simply when they hit certain milestones in their lives. Arz's current title means "Historian" in his species' native tongue.

Name: Brighton Daye

Age: 20

Gender: Male

Physical Description: Brighton is a dazzling slim person with long silver hair with a hint of Platinum blonde. His creamy vanilla/porcelain skin is something he holds a lot of pride in mainly because his smooth skin is pampered and flawless. Brighton tends to adorn himself with outrageous outfits that allow him to stick out like a sore thumb. This means that he is typically wearing knee high leather boots with decorative slack. Fancy over extended coats that allow him to show off his pricey cotton shirts and blouses. He always makes sure that he carries his school books in a custom messenger bag that is goes along perfectly with his outfit of the day. His hands and feat are always manicured and he tends to smell of the freshest and nicest colognes and scents. In fact the only time that he doesn't smell absolutely fresh is when he leaving fencing practice. His duel disk looks like a regular bracelet with a rose on the top. The petals expand on the side acting as his card zones (similar to how III and IV's duel pads are).

Personality: Brighton is completely immersed in all things beautiful and elegant. One would even wonder why he even chooses dueling as some kind of profession when he cares so much about his concept of "beauty." This naturally makes others think his pompous and condescending. In actuality his very nice. He always willing to compliment those he deems beautiful. This concept of beauty surpasses superficial aesthetics (they are important though) and deals with how people act, their mannerisms, their manners, and dueling tactics. On the opposite side of this he loathes ugliness as he defines it. So much so that one could never question if he does or does not out right like something. He is always quick to inform people. Brighton's distaste for the foul and unpleasing sometimes distracts him from concentration. While he will typically try to keep his composure his mind is racing with insults ways to improve an ugly situation. Brighton is a very hard worker though. The amount of time and knowledge that goes into prepping his appearance where it is suitable to for others gaze upon his visage is staggering. While he is a talented sabreur he is not the captain of the team and yearns to improve himself.

Deck: Musketeers: Musketeers are like Sylvans but concentrated a lot more on aggressive attacking instead of problem solving and stack the top cards of the deck.

Ace Card/Avatar Monster: White Lily Musketeer, Cecilia

Misc. Information:

 • Brighton has a weird love for music, but he tends to favor pop culture (mainly because of there over stylized appearance) and opera
 • Brighton has managed to live on campus in a dorm room by himself sense his admittance into the university. It seems as if some people just are not fond of his lifestyle.

Avatar monster-

Name: Lady Olivia Clarington

Gender: Female

Age: 25

Physical description: Olivia looks like she does on this card but if one looked carefully the battle scarred lines one her face she are actually slightly red.

Personality: Olivia is a die hard loyalist who does everything in service to the Guardian Dragon. She is always focused on doing what is right in the name of justice and purity. In flower language she represents "Purity" and "Majestic." Therefore she always tries to think good thoughts. In truth she then wonders about her decision to actually choose Brighton as her partner. But her reasons for choosing Brighton actually come from another side of her personality. Olivia is a tomboy. Though she has to put on all these aires and has to remain polished at all times, she is a very rough and tumble girl. She enjoys swordplay immensely and is a master of the rapier. This is why she is actually head of the Musketeers that guard the Guardian Dragon. She has fought her way to the top valiantly and is proud of it. This leaves her with a disturbing lack of femininity. This leads her to Brighton who seems to be a master of these kinds of niceties. In exchange she is proud to help him with his fencing. Finally Olivia has grand sense of Justice with that makes her always try to be just. This is partly why she is becoming an active participant in this battle against the rise of Caius.

Aivea Kaiba

Age: 20
Gender: Female
Physical Description: Aivea is tall for a young woman, standing at a height of 5' 9", and gets much of her appearance from her mother Kisara. There are some differences to be had, although they're few and far between. For starters, Aivea clearly has significantly wider hips and larger breasts, her BWH ratio being 37-21-36. And although it still shines the same gleaming silver, Aivea's hair is much shorter, only reaching down just behind the tip of her shoulders. She also wears studded teal earrings and teal nail polish, as well as an elegant black dress that wouldn't be out of place in a funeral, and matching heels. Apart from those, the only other difference is that Aivea has heterochromia. Her left eye maybe true to that which would be seen in Kisara, but Aivea's right eye is a blood red instead of an ocean blue, and has a much smaller pupil than her left eye. Overall, though, Aivea can easily maintain a beautiful figure despite the oddities that are her heterochromatic eyes... if she can keep those looks of pure venom to a minimum.
f443c92d6eb91714c3df070bcedd2b56be9035bf
Personality: She may have the looks of Kisara, but there's no denying that much of Aivea's personality stems from her father Seto. Like Kaiba, Aivea comes off as condensing and scathing to most anyone that approaches her, and like Kaiba, it isn't hard for Aivea to be portrayed as a cold and stony person. Finally, again like Kaiba, Aivea has a strong belief that everyone is alone. However, with that belief comes a misconception that Aivea had everyone she ever cared about taken away from her. It explains why she feels lonely inside, but then again, one must wonder why she's so insistent of pushing everyone away from her. She's essentially the same way with her avatar Orica Cologne, but since she's stuck with her, Aivea might as well make the effort to try and be a motherly figure. However, most of Aivea's attempts at being a motherly figure towards Orica are ultimately unsuccessful, partly because of her demeanor, and partly because Orica's childish attitude easily frustrates her. Because of that, Aivea turns out to become more of a control freak on Orica rather than a true mother. Look past the stony and ice-cold exterior and you see a young woman who's very hollow inside, and is trying very hard to bottle every once of sadness she has. She'll even go so far as to plaster herself with more alcohol than her body can handle, just to try and "drown her sorrows" so to speak. Ironically, this is the point where she opens up the most, and although she tends to maintain the condensing being that she has when she's sober, but instead on trying to push people away, she'll try to keep them around instead. After all, Aivea always wished someone was there to listen to her problems without judging her for them, or saying that they're her problems and not theirs, or the like. But more than that, she just wants Kaiba to be proud of her, and will strive to give him every reason.
Deck: Aivea's deck specializes in making the most of the monster card Box of Friends. However, it still contains several cards that Kaiba once used, including the coveted Blue-Eyes White Dragons and their Fusion counterpart.
Ace Cards: Box of Friends, Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon
Avatar Monster: Orica Cologne, Princess Ruler of Dolls (Princess Cologne)
Theme Music: Lost Without You, by Delta Goodrem

Orica Cologne

Gender: Female
Age: 5
Physical Description: Orica appears much more mature than anyone that knows her could possibly give her credit for. Granted, she only stands at 4' 11", and as such, even normal sized human girls will still out-heighten her. But Orica still remains big for her age... clearly too big, considering she's apparently undergone puberty. Apart from her larger size compared to the typical "Princess Cologne", Orica has one other major difference; she carries a Zombowwow in her right hand, in addition to the balloon in her left which she dubs "Mista Bawoon". She'll never let go of either, no matter how hard you try to make her.
Personality: Although she's all grown up physically, Orica still has a lot of catching up to do in the mental department. She tries to act mature, but her poor childish mind can't comprehend what maturity actually is, much to Aivea's dismay. There's a lot more about adulthood that Orica struggles to understand. She feels likes she's been robbed of her innocence, for example, but for the life of her, she can't figure out why. Orica has a helluva lot more questions regarding adulthood that she wants too ask, but she hardly ever asks them because Aivea doesn't wanna hear about them half the time. The biggest question Orica has always wanted to ask Aivea is why she tries to be a motherly figure one second and then suddenly decides she wants nothing to do with her the next. Orica certainly doesn't buy the so-called "fact" that she's to blame for that. But then again, her naivete doesn't exactly help either of their causes. Still, Orica doesn't want to be a burden; all she really wants to do is help Aivea get on her feet.

● Detach 1 Xyz Material to target 1 non-Effect monster in your Deck or Graveyard: Special Summon that target in face-up Attack Position. (This is a Quick Effect.)

Name: Elizabeth Mayley
Age: 19

Gender: Female

Appearance: Despite her short stature, Elizabeth cuts an elegant and refined figure and carries an air of dignity about her instantly apparent to others due to her poise and ever-haughty expression. She is slim and small-breasted with very delicate curves that appeal directly to the pettanko fanbase, a group which she is greatly disgusted by, though she is proud of her tender beauty nonetheless. Elizabeth is British and as typical of all foreigners portrayed in anime, she has long, wavy blonde hair that trails down her back and large, vibrant, sapphire eyes. Her features, while constantly arrogant, are beautifully well proportioned, with a thin nose and soft lips that curl up ever so slightly in a mocking smile, but attention is always drawn up to her icy glare. Elizabeth tends to wear form-fitting upper body clothing that accentuates her figure as well as a skirt and long leggings. Ever-present on her head is her favourite black beret marking her as a very intellectual being.

Picture: http://safebooru.org...110.jpg?1042020

Personality: In one word, a hardcore otaku might say that Elizabeth is a tsundere, but by all means she is far more "tsun" than "dere", in fact, no one probably has ever seen her "dere" side. She is harsh, cold, cruel and downright sadistic... though that is towards men at least. Elizabeth Mayley is what can be called a Feminazi, extremely sexist and prejudiced against men, thinking them to be scum and inferior-minded beings. Though she is heterosexual, she has no intention in her mind of even approaching what in her mind she considers mere pigs, but she does not seem to entirely mind seeing other girls getting boyfriends as it is the natural way of things in order for the human race to live on and reproduce. Her hate is to such a degree that she makes a sport of it to tease and belittle guys, she has an extremely sharp tongue, and she even praises others when they follow suit. Towards girls, however, she is very protective but also encouraging and helpful - always polite, always willing to come to their aid and give them advice. Her strong-willed, fearsome nature makes it so that other girls are afraid to go against her, but they respect her greatly for her intelligence and unconditional friendship. She is outgoing and completely comfortable in various social settings and never afraid to voice her opinion on things.

Elizabeth Mayley is the very embodiment of pride and confidence. She hates losing, she never considers herself to be wrong, almost never admits big mistakes, she is stubborn to a fault and she is exceedingly arrogant when up against males. On the other hand, her indomitable spirit makes it so that she never goes into a depression, always believing that if she loses, it is because of extraneous reasons such as pure luck, and she never gives up. Her determination makes her utterly ruthless and fearsome indeed should one get in her way.

Beyond her unreasonable hate and pride, she is a very intelligent person, a person capable of great cunning, great wisdom and great foresight, which makes her an excellent Duelist. She is highly knowledgeable about the game and its massive cardbase, allowing her to adjust her plays accordingly to the opponent and even use Decks she has never used before.

She does very much love cute things and small animals, even male ones, though she does show favouritism towards female animals. In her room, she has a large pink plush rabbit that dwells atop her bed which she has kept since childhood and because she does fix it up sometimes, she is relatively proficient in sewing.

Deck: Elizabeth owns and can use various Decks, but her current one is a Harpie Deck. She also uses Madolches and Sylvans.

Ace Card: Big Eye

Avatar Monster: Big Eye

Misc. Information: She wears striped panties Oh that's a secret. Mayley is not her real last name, she and her sister fled to Japan and changed their names after Elizabeth murdered their abusive father. Hidden under her skirt on a holster strapped on her leg is a powerful stun gun with a lethal setting which she has no qualms against using, though in most cases she recognizes that it is prudent to just knock people out.

- Avatar Monster -

Name: Big Eye

Appearance: As in the card, Big Eye is a massive upside-down silver cone with a halo-like gold ring around it and a emotionless-looking eye that stares into your soul. Big Eyes differentiate each other by number and Elizabeth's Big Eye carries the number 11.

Personality: Despite being an incredibly powerful being, Big Eye is rather submissive to Elizabeth, simply speechlessly doing as she orders and only occasionally emitting a monotone otherworldly murmur to speak. Although it appears to lack emotion, it simply has no ability of expression and no sense of individuality. It is used to a state of stasis and inactivity for numerous millennia so relies on Elizabeth to take action. Always a bystander, the Big Eye oversees the world, taking in everything it can, every detail, every mortal being before it, every great event to transpire. It's photographic memory storing a historic record of the world. It is in fact sensitive to Elizabeth's frequent barbs that comes its way, but Elizabeth takes the fact that it doesn't protest as a sign that it doesn't care thus she often takes out her anger on it. Though loyal by nature, it sometimes wishes it had chosen a kinder master to follow. Big Eye does, however, recognize Elizabeth's prowess and potency as a master Duelist and harbours a certain admiration for her strength, which allows it to tolerate her shortcomings and stay true to her.

Card: Number 11: Big Eye

Misc. Information: Big Eye is a pervert and a lolicon No it's not.

Name: Bruce Carpenter

Age: 38

Gender: Male

Physical Description: Bruce is a lanky, tall man standing at about 6 foot 2 inches, although it it hard to tell this exactly because he slouches often. He has brown hair that he almost always has combed back, and matching brown eyes. Bruce always wears his round-rimmed glasses on his face, and can usually be seen wearing a suit or something slightly less formal, since he is almost always on campus and he desires to look professional when around students. He prefers a grey suit or some sort of plaid button-up when not in one. Bruce usually has a slight smirk on his face, just enough to tell that he thoroughly enjoys what he does. His duel disk is a Standard model colored in all brown save for the monster card zones, which all have either red, green, or yellow around their edges.

Personality: Bruce can come off as abrasive at first, since he tends to use a bit of profanity when lecturing to both surprise and hopefully keep his students' attention. The truth however, is that Bruce is a genuinely nice person. He is always open to discuss his lectures or grades or even his students' personal lives, should they come to him, and he often stays on campus after class to eat lunch and dinner with students. He is universally loved on campus, since he is the only professor on campus who is able to make a normally dull and boring Trap Card mechanics and development class remotely interesting. Bruce loves what he does, and is usually the one who has the most fun when he give one of his lectures. He's also a bit of a prankster, and has been known to link up his duel disk's solid-vision to his lecture hall's own hologram system in order to to activate a trap card (usually skull dice, in order to drop something harmless on them) on the one or two students who make the mistake of falling asleep in his class.

Deck: Pure Gadget

Ace Card: Stronghold The Moving Fortress

Misc. Information: He is one of the world's foremost experts on trap cards, and was hired by Shian while he was living in the UK. Bruce is always open to dueling his students, although his deck (which he has build based on his personal preference, rather than any utility it might have) is usually quite underpowered compared to his students. As a result, he often loses.

Name: Ha Des

Gender: Male

Age: 60000 approx.

Physical description: Looks like his Japanese card art.

Personality: No one really knows what Ha Des is like, since he very rarely interacts with anyone outside a close knit group of his own advisers. This works out for him just fine, since he can let his more physically appealing underlings direct the people, thereby removing the fact that he is a hideous demon from the public consciousness. Out of sight, out of mind, so they say. Ha Des is Manipulative and cunning no doubt, but he genuinely believes he is doing whats best for his subjects. He desperately wants to live up to Caius's legacy, and to make his own mark on history, and as such has spent most of the previous 59 or so millenia forging his empire with more or less nothing but his bare hands. Of course, its his empire, and he won;t hesitate to remind his underlings of that. Ha Des believes that he, and only he, is fit to lead the duel monsters in their final glorious conquest of humanity, and has gone to great lengths in recent years to consolidate his power and make sure that he does not lose his throne like Caius once did.
DarkRulerHaDes-BE2-JP-UR.jpg
Misc. information: The devil horns coming out of the side of his head are actually fake, and a part of his headdress. His actual horns are miniscule, and so he wears the headdress to look more menacing. Enjoys drinking both the blood of his enemies and green gatorade from a wine glass.

Name: Sho Yoshinaga

Age: 19

Gender: Male

Physical Description: Sho is tall, well built, and attractive, standing at 6 feet 1 inch. He has short black hair which he keeps flipped up in front, and light brown eyes. He isn't large, but he has a lot of muscle tone and is quite athletic, so describing him as muscular would not be too far from the truth. Sho always dresses in whatever clothes are in style, but the one part of his wardrobe that remains constant is a friendship bracelet that his younger sister made for him. He wears it constantly, whether it clashes with his clothes or not. His duel disk is a standard Kaibacorp model with no modifications.

Personality: Unlike his roommate Trey, Sho is very outgoing and confident. He has a large social circle, and is very well known on campus. Despite the popularity, Sho is just as kind-hearted as Trey, but they differ in that Sho is nosy, and will offer to help even when he isn't asked, although his assistance is usually welcomed anyway. Sho is well aware of how good looking he is, and as a result is rather popular with women. Its hard for him to stay tied down for long though, and his relationships are often short. Despite their different personalities, Trey and Sho are great friends, having met freshman year and opted to live together this year. They can often be seen hanging out together, although Sho can just as often be seen with any number of other friends in addition to his roommate. He's constantly trying to get Trey to come out of his shell, but with little success.

Deck: Battlin' Boxer

Ace Card: Battlin' Boxer Nova Caesar

Misc. Information: Sho loves to box, and is the head executive of Shian's intramural boxing club (the school doesn't have a competitive team).

Name: Gunther Grey

Age: 19

Gender: Male

Physical Description: Gunther is very attractive, and it wouldn't be a stretch to describe him as a pretty boy. He has a medium build and a decent amount of muscle tone for someone his age his age, although he really isn't one to show off any kind of athletic skills. Gunther stands at around 5'11", and has thick light blonde hair. His facial features are rather effeminate, and his most striking feature is his beautiful emerald green eyes, which stand out from his hair. Overall, while not being very physically dominating, Gunther still manages to stand out among the male population at Shian. He usually wears a white button-up and slacks, but when he wants to dress more comfortably he prefers polo shirts.

Personality: Before being possessed, Gunther, was shy and withdrawn, and had trouble making friends. Gaodiaz possessed him roughly a year and a half ago, and since then Gunther's personality has shifted dramatically due to his influence. Gunther is now supremely confident (although his confidence is not arrogance), and has no social trouble what so ever. He's rather nice, although he isn't very out going. People tend to gravitate toward him instead. He's become very popular on campus (especially with girls), but tends to stay aloof and doesn't have very many close friends despite the massive size of his social circle. As well, he has absolutely refused to allow himself to enter into any sort of romantic relationship, meaning that his many admirers must simply stare from afar.

Deck: Gladiator Beast

Ace Card: Gladiator Beast Herkalinos, Gladiator Beast Gaodiaz/ Gaodiaz the Man Hunter

Avatar monster: Gaodiaz the Man Hunter

Misc. Information: loves liccorice.

Avatar monster-

Name: Gaodiaz

Gender: Male

Age: Unknown

Physical description: He looks identical to his card art, save that he is missing his left eye, and has a large scar where it once was.

Personality: Gaodiaz is driven and fiercely loyal to the empire. As a result he was one of the first ten monsters to volunteer to become avatars. Gaodiaz's days in the gladiatorial arena have both honed his fighting skills and given him an almost unquenchable bloodlust. As a result, he will often have Gunther keep his card in play for weeks at a time in a spare duel disk so that he can roam japan and kill indiscriminately. His specific talents make him ideal for spreading fear throughout the populace, and in regards to his mission he has murdered close to two dozen people in the goriest ways he is able to manage, in order to create as much panic and fear as possible. Despite his love of killing, he isn't a psychopath. Rather, he enjoys the sport that hunting humans brings, and when Gaodiaz is given a worthy opponent is when he enjoys it the most.
sca6P4l.jpg
"Gladiator Beast Spartacus" + 1 "Gladiator Beast" monster
This card can only be Special Summoned from the Extra Deck by returning the above Fusion Material Monsters from the field to the Deck. (You do not use "Polymerization".) This card's name becomes "Gladiator Beast Gaodiaz" when on the field or in the graveyard. When this card battles a monster, inflict damage to your opponent equal to the DEF of the monster it is battling. At the end of the Battle Phase, if this card attacked or was attacked, you can return it to the Extra Deck to Special Summon 2 "Gladiator Beast" monsters from your Deck, except "Gladiator Beast Spartacus".

Misc. information: Hates the taste of beef.

Name: Deimos

Gender: None, formerly male.

Age: Unknown

Physical description: He is more of a cyborg than a full-on metalized dragon, and looks the part, with metal armor parts haphazardly spaced out between more organic scales.

Personality: He doesn't have much of one anymore, although he has shown a distaste for pure dragons.
DeeTmbY.jpg
This card's name becomes "Red-Eyes Black Metal Dragon" while on the field or in the graveyard. This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card can only be Special Summoned from your Hand or Deck by Tributing "Red-Eyes B. Dragon" equipped with "Metalmorph". Your Deck is then shuffled. When this card is special summoned, you can equip it with one "Metalmorph" from your graveyard.

Misc. information: He was defeated by Arz Goedia in battle over the pacific ocean, and has not been seen since.

Name: Seto Kaiba

Age: 47

Gender: Male

Physical Description: Seto has aged very well and looks a lot like he did when he was younger, albeit now he has a goatee and he has gained (some, but not too much) weight. He still prefers trench coats and wearing belts around his arms, although nowadays his trench coats are usually black in color, rather than white or blue. Kaiba is still a very abrasive and rough man, and almost never smiles. He always carries his duel disk and deck with him, although these days he rarely duels and his deck has become quite outdated.

Personality: Kaiba is just as rough and scathing as he was in his youth. He has very little time for sympathy or compassion, and is always focused on making sure that KaibaCorp stays on top of the card market. As a result, he sees very little of his wife or daughter, but did make the time to see Aivea off to college during her freshman year, presenting her with one of his three unique Blue-Eyes White Dragons as a present. Depite his cold demanor and the distance he often keeps from his family, Kaiba does truly care about them. However a combination of  his upbringing and his own personality prevent him from expressing this properly.

Deck: Retro Blue-eyes. Kaiba's deck is the same one he used in his youth, and as a result does not feature any newer cards that support his blue-eyes white dragons, like hieratics or synchro monster support. Kaiba prefers instead his tried and true normal monster-heavy beat-down strategy.

Ace Card: Blue-eyes white dragon, Blue-eyes ultimate dragon, Blue-eyes Shining Dragon

Misc. Information: The avatar-verse Kaiba is an only child, and the biological son of (a much less insane) Gozaburo Kaiba. His Blue-eyes white dragons are not unique cards, but Kaiba's three are still notable for being the first three ever printed, and these three copies are printed with unique card art (the new outer space blue-eyes art). He has since given one of these cards to his daughter, Aivea.

Name: Emura

Gender: Female

Age: 2000

Physical description: She looks identical to her card art, save for the fact that her hair is much longer, and she carries a second whip. Her true, non-humanoid form is horrid to behold, with four reptilian eyes arranged in a rhomboidal formation on her face. In it, she grows to a staggering 19 feet tall, sprouting five demonic wings, and extra pair of arms, a second mouth located in her chin, and becoming much more muscular. Her two whips meld into her shoulders and become long spiked tentacles, and her skin becomes a sickening shade of mucus green.

Personality: Emura is cold and detached to the point of apathy. She cares nothing for anyone or anything but her own mission, and uses her subordinates in the Empire's Avatar corps Green Unit like pawns. She has no qualms sacrificing herself or her subordinates for the completion of her mission. That being said, she has been incredibly successful in her mission, now having control of countless humans (since she has had her card traded around numerous times) as well as an elite unit of empire avatars.
obQ2Hk9.jpg
Misc. information: Grun and Deimos are both her subordinates.

Name: Grun Malo

Gender: none (Male personality)

Age: Unknown

Physical description: He is identical to his card art.

Personality: Grun is soft-spoken and cold. Unlike his commander, who is dedicated only to their mission, Grun is entirely apathetic. He is as dead inside as a being can be. He has no motivations, no real emotions, and questions nothing. He cares for nothing and no one. That being said, Grun isn't lazy or inept and accomplishes any missions he is given to he best of his ability.
veYJeod.jpg
Misc. information: His arms and body can act independently of his head, and all five of his senses are connected to each of his four segments. This means he can see, hear, smell, and taste through his arms and body as well as his head.

Name: Gruglhag Hngrolhrg

Gender: male

Age: unknown (deceased)

Physical description: He looks identical to his card art, save for the fact that the card art's red skin is instead muscle tissue.

Personality: Gruglhag prefers to let his actions speak for themselves. Despite his horrid appearance, he is actually quite intelligent. That being said, he usually opts for a straightforward, brute force approach to what ever he is doing. He thoroughly enjoys a good fight. Gruglhag makes extensive use of mind controlled humans, and has his card traded often to facilitate this.
6Xo6ral.jpg
This card's name becomes "Red Ogre" While on the field or in the graveyard. When this card is Normal Summoned: You can send any number of cards from your hand to the Graveyard, then target twice that number of cards on the field, return those targets to the hand.

Misc. information: He's also a member of the green unit under the command of Grun and Emura, and usually gets sent in to deal with difficult targets while the rest of the unit's heavy hitters are busy.

Aivea Kaiba

@akron: you'll need to make a number of alterations before i'll consider it for acceptance. First off, you failed to include an avatar card for buster blader. Please post his avatar card's lore. Second, dark magician of chos is banned, and as a result is not allowed in the rp. Please edit your post with these changes.

As well, id recommend re-reading the rp's setting and plot sections ( or reading them, if for some strange reason you did not do so). I say this because akron doesnt quite seem to go well with the setting. I strongly suggest applying with a character who either works at or attends the university, since the rp is set on and around its campus, and a strange and violent man in bandages would most likely not be welcome there. As well, is buster blader's name actually buster blader? Or does he have a name he goes by other than his card name?

I strongly reccomend doing all of the above if you want to be accepted into the rp. Feel free to pm me with any questions you have.

Noting interest. Admiral and Bailas will probably remember my character from Return of the Orichalcos...
Name: Cynthia Stryver

Age: 23

Gender: F
62RMrsW.jpg

Cynthia stands at an average 5’6”, and weighs 59 kg (130 lbs.), she has an upright posture and carries herself with an air of pride. She wears teal sneakers, and has an all in all  retains a very unbuisness-like (and kind of unprofessional) appearance, but this is overlooked because of the fact that she is the school's dance instructor. Cynthia's duel disk is a has a light-blue tear drop shaped base with a dark blue glass display, this extends out into a cresent shaped card placement, of the same light-blue color as her base. When Annyana "takes control" of Cynthia her right eye becomes a severe golden color, which if one looks closely will glows slightly. Cynthia keeps a small black purse on herself at all times which holds several things: a make-up bag, her wallet, her phone, and (even while on school grounds) carries a switchblade with her in case of emergencies, and keeps a small pistol in the glove box of her car, putting in her purse after school ends.
Personality: Cynthia is quite the 'take no sh*t' kind of woman, and her presence in any room can be felt immediately. While she can be uncouth, and often goes far past her bounds (she doesn't just step over the line, she does a victory lap around it), she it intelligent enough to know how to play a situation to her advantage. Thanks to her life in Detroit Cynthia has becoming cruel and sadistic in a sort of 'righteous' way (if you could even call it that, as it mostly just justification for her behavior) believing all humans are innately evil and should be punished.

Becoming a teacher has also developed a new side of her, and she does a full heel face turn in front of students and faculty becoming the picture of respectful and kind. If one looks closely though they can still see hints of her sadistic nature. For example she is known to be one of the harshest and unforgiving graders in the school, but somehow the students seem to like her. This can be attributed to the certain degree of charisma Cynthia puts out in public, which she learned from her father.

In terms of Annyana she is one of the few people of whom Cynthia genuinely enjoys having company with, and the pair will often raze each other in good humor. Cynthia will often let Annyana gain control during a duel, but will often not allow her to summon herself for fear that they may lose the duel.

Deck: Arcana; This deck is based on the Arcana Major (0 – XXI), and involves giving yourself positive effects, the upright position, while on your side of the field and giving your opponent negative effects, the reversed position, while on your opponents side of the field.

Ace Card: Arcana the Second – High Priestess of Knowledge

Avatar monster: Arcana the Seventeenth – Star of Hope

Misc. Information:

 • Battle Theme: EGOIST
 • At the age of 18 she 'ran away' from home to escape her father's abusive behavior
 • After she ran away from home she worked for a time as a stripper/pole dancer which often lead to prostitution
 • She is currently the Dance teacher at Shian Academy
 • Her being hired as a teacher was really only thanks Annyana using her powers to influence the decisions of the Principal
Name: Annyana Al-Shadiq

Gender: Female

Age: Unknown

Physical description: Nearly exactly identical to the card, bar the vases in her hand.

Personality: Despite being an agent of Ha Des she is quite benevolent, and really only became part of his army so that she could travel back to the human world, even though she fought on the side of the Virtuous Seven during the first war, she missed the human world and having no idea about the Alliance's ability to send monsters to the human world she defected. She does bare some malice towards humans though, and feels the humans betrayed them when they banished the forces of the Virtuous Seven, and wishes to exact her revenge.

In terms of her host, Cynthia, Annyana has a healthy relationship with her, but when they first bonded Annyana was horrified to find that she'd bonded with (and I quote) a human of such 'low moral and social standing'. Annyana has been slowly adapting to the human world as it is a much different place from the last time she traveled there.

When dueling through Cynthia's body she plays a more defensive style of battle relying more on cards such as Fool, Empress, and Hermit to slowly eat away at her opponents, rather than Cynthia's brutal and cruel method of beating down her opponent.
398375.jpg

Lore: Once per turn you can change the battle positions of all "Arcana" monsters on the field except this card. The positions of these monsters cannot be changed until your next Standby Phase.
Misc. information:

 • Battle Theme:
 • She will respond to the names Annyana, Star, or Seventeenth

Deck is custom, I will PM the cards as soon as they're finished, and I have a good reason for why a woman with an American name is in Japan. Also since my Avatar card's a custom is it okay that she looks basically the same as in the card?

Oh lawd, all these characters.

Deck is custom, I will PM the cards as soon as they're finished, and I have a good reason for why a woman with an American name is in Japan. Also since my Avatar card's a custom is it okay that she looks basically the same as in the card?

My character is American (well, part, at least), and the university is world renowned as-is, so people from all over the world tend to show up. Not really sure much of an explanation is even needed (unless of course she isn't a student)

Anyway, the deck will be subject to my discretion, obviously. And yes, an avatar monster can look identical to the card they're based on. The appearance section of that portion of the application is simply there because not every monster looks identical to their card art. To use a metaphor, while every golden retriever looks similar, each individual dog is not identical to the rest.

@Balias: Adding your app to the pending list, unless you're still working on it.

On a tangentially related note, Trey uses custom cards as well, although his deck is not entirely composed of them.

Yep the app is done.

Added to the slate.

Guys, try to hold off on the whole "blast from the past" thing. I know I don't have the power to stop anyone, but I'm already working on someone I've used in a lot of Yugimonz, and one too many wanderers from other RPs just doesn't feel right. Of course, one or two is fine, but I'd irk on the side of caution :/

I have no idea who these characters are, and I wouldn't have known they weren't made for this rp had i not been told. That being said, I agree with the above quote. Do try and keep it to a minimum.

I'm a tad confused by the no blast from the past thing. Granted these may have had an previous appearance, but the RP's they come from never really got anywhere (accept Cynthia's RP...we were at the end game with that one before it died). So these are essentially new characters. Second this is a complete alternate Yugiverse where cards don't even have the same significance as they would in other Yugiverses. These characters have no connection (well mine doesn't anyway) with their other RP counterparts. Essentially these are new characters. I mean Brighton comes from a Pokemon RP.

Now pushing the line to me would be if the term "Neighborhood Watch" comes along. The group of multiverse time police that show up in most Yugioh RPs. While I kind of like the thought of YCM own RP sub group that cameo's in all Yu-Gi-Oh RP's I can see where the problem would be.

Its not really, that much of an issue, per say. Its just that, the rp would feel more.... whats a good word.... "correct", I suppose (correct isn't the best word, but its 7:00 am and im running of 5 hours of sleep, so forgive me here). Anyway, it isn't really an issue, and like I said before, what with me being inactive on YCM for months at a time the past few years, I really have no way of knowing if these characters are new or not anyway. Its more of a small personal gripe, if anything. One that I really have no power to correct anyway. Its not like i really have a say on what the content of your applications are. I'm just here to approve them or not. In short, pay it no mind.

Oh, and cards do in fact have roughly the same amount of significance that they do in the canon universe (a  huge amount of significance, by my count). Its just that, unlike GX and 5d's (doesn't really apply to DM, since it was implied that the card game was just a really popular card game there, rather than, well, what GX and 5d's depict it as.), This universe places slightly less significance on every single individual dueling with a deck, and rather its that most people on the planet are involved in the game in some way, be it playing it or developing cards/technology/lore related to it.
