Spring 2014 Anime

Recommended Posts

There wasn't a topic for Winter because everyone posted in "Good 2014 Anime". Well, some Spring anime were posted there as well, but since there weren't actually very many posted there:

There's too many I'm interested in watching, so I'll start off by saying what I'm most hyped for:

Mekaku City Actors - Based on a set of Vocaloid songs like Black Rock Shooter was (except it was only a single song for that). Been reading the manga and I highly think the anime is going to be amazing.
No Game No Life - Been waiting for this because the manga isn't updating at a good enough speed for anyone to enjoy reading it. There are light novels too, but those are usually not fully translated (ever), so it'd be a waste of time to read what is translated.
Sequels - Date A Live 2nd Season & Love Live! School Idol Project 2nd Season
I'd like to try the reboot of Fairy Tale as well, only because I'll actually be able to follow it. Even though I would much rather watch what's already out, but we'll see if I ever get time for that.

Akuma no Riddle, WIXOSS, and of course Arc-V are the ones that are already on my list, although I might wait for the end of the season to watch the last one.

SC will probably be amazing, but I have yet to watch the adaptations of Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency, so I'll do that first.

Other than that, we'll see.

DUDE
I thought I would just be excited for Date a Live

I totally forgot that "Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei" and "Mangaka-san to Assistant-san to" were getting animes.

Going to be awesome....xD

I cannot tell you how much I love the Mangaka-san manga.

City Actors caught my attention, I will be watching.

And ha~ if I give a crap about Arc V.

Yo yo yo YO YO YO YO WHAT, ATELIER ANIMU, FUCK THATS A DEFINITE FOLLOW. ITS NOT LEWD TOTORI BUT GODDAMN, ATELIERS, THAT I'M ALWAYS READY AS FUCK FOR

That aside, JOJO'S STARDUST CRUSADERS, YO THAT'S ALSO HYPE AS FUCK MATERIAL. NEWLY ANIMATED D'ARBY GAMBLING, NEWLY ANIMATED THE SUN, DIO FIGHTS, YAOI BAIT, BETTER HAVE GET BACK AS THE ED SONG

That aside as well, Keroro...no idea if I should get hyped for this, but if it isn't a short, I sure as hell am following.

Other than that, nothing worthy worth mentioning, other than some summaries being interesting. I'll probably try out an episode or two for everything that's not a season 2, so I guess I'll form my impressions then.

HYPED:
Mekaku City Actors (Ene!!!<3)
Stardust Crusaders (Just... yes. That aside, I will continue hating Dio)
HappinessCharge Precure (Starting airing already yes, I already love other Pretty Cure, yes, but I still have a multitude to go before I can get to this)

Other musts:
Love Live (Oh, only one. Yay for idols)

Will try:
No Game No Life
Seikoku no Dragonar
Haikyuu!! (The first sports anime that I actually got interesting in before airing, but watch me get bored of it because it's a shounen sports anime, and not something like Chihayafuru... Well, we'll see)
Black Bullet
Ryuugajou Nanana no Maizoukin
Date A Live 2nd Season (ready to drop at the slightest sign of Kurumi, but would be good fun without her)
Isshuukan Friends.

The worst (best?) part? There will definitely be more I'll watch. I just don't know.

I wanna do the one with the Volleyball for some reason. Nothing else really caught my eye, I'm sure a friend of mine will suggest something to me if something jumps out of the woodworks.

Question: who is doing the music for Stardust Crusader? Yes, that is all I care about.

Well it's not the Mana Khemia anime I've always wanted but it's an Atelier game nontheless.  So I'll probably check it out.

Black Bullet sounds interesting enough.

Blade and Soul will be checked out simply since I've been super hyped for the actual MMO forever.

Huh? Break Blade? Isn't that sorta old? Some sort of reboot? I'll probably check it out.

I REALLY LIKE THAT MECH DESIGN IN CAPTAIN EARTH

Super cliche sounding start but I'll check out Hitsugi no Chaika.

I'll see if Kenzen Robo is funny. Hi-Ero particles is best power source.

Mangaka-san sounds like it'll be entertaining.

No Game No Life sounds okay.

Sidonia no Kishi sounds pretty interesting.

Did no one like Mangaka-san?
D=

That one looked pretty interesting, I'd probably go read the manga later, after the anime finishes airing. Chances are the anime adaption won't  be quite as good as the manga, but I dun wanna ruin my enjoyment of the animu by starting with the superior material(which although presumptuous, is more or less the case for many manga-to-anime adaptions). Case in point, D-Frag, was my anime of the season, loved it so much I went to read the manga. After finishing the manga, when the next episode came out, I didn't quite enjoy it as much anymore, although that's more of the adaption's faults and stuff.

Akuma no Riddle because DAT KEY ART and yuri ftw, but I will inevitably be disappointed because anime hates me.

Black Bullet because people are apparently hype about it. I mean, hey, it looks cool.

Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou doesn't actually look interesting to me, but it's made by Brain's Base, so I'll give it a shot.

Gokukoku no Brynhildr will hopefully be terrible, because it's made by Arms, which is worst studio, and written by the guy who wrote Elfen Lied, and fuck Elfen Lied.

Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei looks interesting and is by Madhouse, so VERY YES.

Mekaku City Actors. Alright, Shaft, dazzle me with your Vocaloid animoo.

No Game No Life: moar interesting description and MOAR MADHOUSE.

Sidonia no Kishi I've heard good things about. Apparently it's going to be CG, which is mostly a minus but a bit of a plus.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V is sooooooo hype.

Not the only things I'll be looking into, but these are the most interesting ones.

Mekaku City Actors. Alright, Shaft, dazzle me with your Vocaloid animoo.

It is based on some songs, but it's not about Vocaloids (but you probably knew that).

I guess I'll mention others that pop out to me right now. And although I know I shouldn't watch so much (only so I have time for more that's not airing), I'm probably going to try everything I want to.

Happiness Charge Precure - It'll be a while before I get to this, but I hope it's not when it's almost finished.

Isshuukan Friends. - That's one of the saddest things I've read (the summary, I didn't read the manga, but I should because there's only 10 chapters so this will be a horrible adaption) and I don't want to watch it before I know if there's a happy ending. But I will.

Kanojo ga Flag wo Oraretara - I don't like how the supposed main character is in the background in that picture. That's all.

That's everything right now, but there will probably be more.

Look at the date the manga started, not how many chapters were translated. Even if it was bimonthly, it would have had a couple more chapters than that by now, so I don't think there's a reason to worry about how much it's adapting.

Actually, like I said, there's no end date yet, but the manga could end soon, considering the author's other manga had only one volume. It still makes me nervous because there's a chance it won't adapt everything if it doesn't finish by then.

How often it was updated, though? If I look at all of that, the timing seems a bit too scattered to tell.

I guess I can just tell sometimes.
