Who's Your Favorite Anime/Manga Antagonist

As the topic title asks. Who is your favorite and why?

For me it had to be the kishin asura from the Soul Eater anime. Even though he failed like most antagonists do, he spoke a lot of sense and at times he felt like a truly scary and unbeatable villain. What also did it for me was his final words when responding to how everyone has bravery; "Everybody has it huh... Then it's just like madness." To me that was a chilling comment with a lot of different meanings behind it. Oh and he makes madness look awesome!

So that's my favorite. Who's your's?

In no particular order.

Shishio Makoto (Rurouni Kenshin)-Ruthless badass to the core, he had this subdued charisma to him and I just thought his backstory and nuances made him into a cool character that was fun to watch.

Tobi (Naruto)-Seeing his fall from grace and the motivations that drove him made him easier to empathize for than other villains. And he's had some awesome fights.

Izaya Orihara (Durarara!)-Funny troll, nuff said.

Light Yagami (Death Note)-His entire journey, the way he utilized his intelligence, resources and cunning, made for an incredible watch that captivated me every second.

Majin Buu (Dragon Ball Z)-What I liked about him is he was the best at inducing despair. The Z Warriors tried everything to take this guy down and nothing worked. And they were on their very last legs when they finally managed to do so. The lengths Buu pushed all of them to made for a very enduring legacy.

Akainu (One Piece)-Like what Shradow said, he's probably the villain I hate the most. And that's what villains (for the most part) should do, make you want to punch them in the face.

Imperfect Cell (DBZ) - He may have been the weakest stand-up version of Cell, but as far as a villain goes, his other forms were nowhere CLOSE to being as intimidating. This form's theme song was one of the most chilling themes I've ever heard. Put that into a villain that's remained unknown to the heroes until nearly half the world is consumed by him, and you have yourself a creepy motherf*cker that deserves to be feared.

John Bacchus (Future Diary) - While Bruno Mars would catch a grenade for you, the eleventh diary holder will throw it right back at you. This guy, to me, stands as one of the most badass high-status villains in anime simply for that reason. That being said, his plan to make every cell phone in a world a diary had him at the top of the game for a moment, and that's what kept me hooked on the second half of the show. Not sure if it would've made a difference if it wasn't Bacchus, but I enjoyed watching him nonetheless.

Lord Genome (TTGL) - I was gonna go with Viral on this one, considering he was never defeated, but after witnessing what Genome had in store for the protagonists, he pretty much has the whole anime booked one way or another. Even after spoiling myself with the Cathedral Terra, I was still blown away by what the guy was operating when they first encountered him. That being said, what really strikes home for me is the fact that even after his death, he still had the upper hand. Although, of course, the heroes overcame it, but the threat alone was enough to confirm that moons in general are just f*cking scary (I'm looking at you, Madora's Mask.)

I would've gone with Lordgenome (btw his full name is Lordgenome, it's not Genome with the title of Lord), but even when he's ruling the Earth he does so in a way he thinks will protect it from the Anti-Spirals since he could never outright beat them in his own war, and he joins up with the protagonists in the second story arc and becomes a supporting character. Also, he's so gloriously awesome I'd want to cheer for him even when he was fighting Team Dai-Gurren.

I also can't really take him seriously as a true, big bad antagonist after he did this:

Rei Hazama (Doubt): I'm not sure if any of you have read it as its a very obscure manga, but anyway I find Rei to be one of my favorite villains of all time. She first succeeds in fooling the entire cast into thinking she was a shy, cripple. Takes advantage of the female lead's unstable emotion state after the death of her father, and her sense of justice combined with Rei hypnotism abilities turn the female lead into revenge crazed murderess. I find her backstory interesting and unique, and to be honest I just can't say enough on how much I adore her.

Ooh, I do remember her. She was cool, although the manga was overall kind of meh.

I just noticed the title said 'Managa". lol

Huh, flew over my head. Someone might want to fix that.

No one's giving Souske Aizen some love. Then again he was an antagonist for the entirety of Bleach. He was the mastermind of many plans but no one could pin him for it.

Eh, I've never hated Aizen as much as other people, but I was never too invested with him either. I will say his reveal as a villain was cool and well-done, but Butterflaizen...eh.

Aizen was best when he came out with his true identity.  Hell, Bleach itself's peak was that volume - and then after that it all sucks down.  I mean like, the Espadas' designs are cool but the story collapses apart.  It's not even a story in the Arrancar arc - it's just people Bankai'ing and Ressurection'ing and going NAN...DATO...and...you get it.

The Major from Hellsing really grabbed my soul with his speech.

Also, Kira Yoshikage from Jojo's Bizzare Adventure Part 4, if anyone has ever read it. If you haven't, read it.

AIZEN NEVER DID ANYTHING WRONG

GIVE ME A LIST OF THE PEOPLE HE'S KILLED

GIN? TOUSEN? THEY WERE TRAITORS ANYWAY YOU SLICE IT.

STARRK? HE WAS A VERY POWERFUL ARRANCAR IT HAD TO HAPPEN. HE NEARLY GOT THAT SHARK BITCH TOO.

HE DIDN'T EVEN KILL RANGIKU OR ANY OF THE VISORED, THEY WERE ALL RESCUED TO COME CAPACITY AND WERE USEFUL LATER FOR DEVELOPMENT. IF HE PLANNED EVERYTHING FOR ICHIGO THEN IT WOULD BE VERY EASY FOR HIM TO HAVE PREDICTED URAHARA SAVING THE VISORED.
