Can someone explain Role playing in more depth?

Ok so i have read and understood the rules of role playing. I have never role played before and its something I would like to get involved in but I don't want to go and spoil things for other people because I don't know what to do.  I understood the rules like god actions and power playing but I still do not understand how you go about writing it. Is it written in the third person of your character? what dialogue is permitted? Etc...

 

I apologize if this question has been answered or seems stupid and obvious.

The POV you write in depends on the RP. Some people prefer to have different POV's than others. Honestly the most important thing about learning to RP, is to RP.

Aside from what the others had said above, I agree that the best way is to learn about it along the way. Sign up in one, and it won't take long for you to learn the way to RP.

I don't really RP, but I can answer this.

Write your character script as if you're doing a regular book (except you only got control of your own character)

 

So the answer would be 3rd person limited. Depending on the fic, you can be informal or stay within the realm of formality. Whatever the rating of the fic also determines how much you can swear (you are allowed to).
