Stuff You Really Couldn't Stand Watching

I tend to have a thing against animes with a mainly female cast (with the exception of Rozen Maiden) annoying that's what my friends on another forum used to keep recommending for me.

Yeah I swear some people see a lot of girls in anime and think "girly" without understanding the concept at all.

There are one or two that might be good for not being the typical though.

I feel Little Busters has a mostly all female cast *shot*

I can't stand filler episodes (Naruto has a ton of them, especially in the Shippuden era), so stopped watching anime and just read the manga. But yeah, I hate those episode-long flashbacks also.

Also, I hate it when Yuma doesn't shut up during matches in ZEXAL.

I'm not a fan of heavy romance anime, though I'm okay with light/moderate levels (Yusei / Aki in 5Ds 154 qualifies as "light")

Filler is fine when it's done correctly.

Sometimes you do need a break in between story arcs.

That being said, Naruto in particular has some of the worst filler episodes I've ever seen.

That's mainly attributed to the way it's constructed however, shallow characters who literally show up for an episode or random timeline jumps are excruciatingly painful to watch.

The Naruto filler (between part 1 and 2) is amazingly terrible.  Each episode is poorly written and ruins the world of Naruto, sometimes trying to develop characters into something they're not.

HOWEVER, the format is something I would love to see done well.  Shonen action series is something I love, but none of them have really nailed the one/two episode adventure of the week thing as they all seem to get wrapped in one fight and drag it out for literal years. (Looking at you Bleach.)

I guess what I mean is that I want more filler.  Canon filler that is.

Characters with no development throughout a series is just the worst. There's literally nothing to watch but the same person doing the same sh*t over and over again and not have anything to show for it.
School Days was one of those characters. The guy starts off as a shy and wimpy school boy who has a crush on a girl, but towards the end of the anime, he just spontaneously has the reputation of the school playboy that's f*cked every girl in the school EXCEPT that girl, all while carrying the personification of a plastic cube. Not even his death at the end was enough to wash away the vile taste from my mouth.
What sucks is that you can't really point out a bad anime without giving it the benefit of the doubt and enduring its entirely first before you make a legitimate judgement. That's one thing I've been cursed with. Most animes that I haven't finished can't really be considered good or bad unless I've seen how it ends.

No really, the show is great IMO. I love it to death.
Cliche? Will people stop using this word, PLEASE. ALL ANIME IS A CLICHE, ESPECIALLY WHEN GOING BY GENRE. Some shows just use more of the tropes in it. Geez I hate the word Cliche, sorry.

There is an incredibly wide line between cliché and trope abuse. Tropes are not painful to watch, whereas a cliché is something that takes itself too seriously. Simply bad.

Haven't watched that so I have no idea what the case in point goes to, but cliché is a thing and it's bad.

Now if there's something I find really hard to watch, or even read, is genital-related violence. I've read books in which a hammer in the wrong place made me cringe rather sharply.

You know, the thing that bugs me about Naruto filler is it can be good. Shippuden's Chikara arc was actually great and I didn't mind the short break because it wasn't the usual crap.

But then they went back to the same shovel-stuff shortly after.

rant

I do agree with everything you said, I myself can identify needing to finish something to say it's bad (with the exception of Mermaid Melody because screw that anime). But I think you should spoiler the School Days example.

I didn't think of it like that. If it is taking itself seriously, it is cliche. Fair enough.

Now A I X, watch Date a Live and tell me it's taking it seriously. The whole thing is a freaking joke.

On the whole filler thing...I have only like two filler things so far.

Amagai arc in Bleach and the Beach episode in Bleach.

I avoid fillers since I saw that the Bount arc was filler. Which was so much dang later.

For a joke, it's seriously unamusing/not funny and has quite its share of edginess with generic vengeance, murder, heroic speeches and etc.

The one episode I did not take remotely seriously was the hot springs episode, but there was literally nothing funny put in there.

I am also reminded of my number 1 thing I can't stand: guys who rush in with no plan and hope to win as well as guys who insist on goodness/righteousness beyond all possible logical reason... and then miraculously pull through with absolute victory.

B-but I love that ;_; Isn't watching it all play out with al that tension and no back up plan the best part?

I personally absolutely hate those beta MCs. Just man the fuck up and fight already. I dropped Guilty crown cause I just couldn't handle it.

Now I admit it wasn't the best series, and I'm still a bit iffy on the idea of season two, but....

Its my kind of funny. Past the murder vengeance thing. That got real old, real fast.

Rushing in with no Plan is a plan, of sorts.

My favorite plan.

But it would seriously suck if the guy didn't have a plan and then LOST. I mean that would suck balls to watch. If you don't have a a plan, you either win or I don't watch that.

Watch Oda Nobuna no Yabou, it's a harem series I fully approve of despite having plenty of flaws (well its not all out harem and ecchi is mostly in the ending rather than everywhere in the show, but it has the harem charm). The MC is suicidally righteous, but he has a brain so it's okay.
