Odd Future

08-10 Lil Wayne

Kanye West

Black Hippy

Nas

Childish Gambino

Captain Murphy

Lupe Fiasco

Joey Bada$$

XV

and some others.

So who do you like and what're some your favorite songs?

I can see how someone who is more used to straight up hip-hop wouldnt be into the harsh abrasive Industrial stuff of Deaf Grapes, but they were the band that made me open up to the world of hip-hop/rap since I have a love for harsh and abrasive music

Another album that I greatly enjoy:

I enjoy listening to Danny Brown a lot. Forgot about him while making the list. I haven't got around to listening to his most recent album "Old" yet though, is it any good?

Not trying to be hyped or anything, but Kendrick Lamar is actually REALLY good.

My all time favorite has and always will be Wu-Tang Clan.

I actually got into Cappadonna through Wu-Tang when I listed to "Triumph".

Triumph is probably my favorite rap.

I mean, Eminem, Kanye, and Drake are pretty good, Childish Gambino is amazing.

Biggie was a pure lyrical king.  Ghetto to the core, gritty as f***, but one of the best lyricists to ever step foot in the game.  He was a poet in true form, flow was silky smooth, and there was no having beef with Biggie unless you were Pac, because only Pac was at his level.

One of my favorite songs by Biggie.

Don't set your expectations high for dead rappers.  Just because they're dead doesn't make them good.  They're good because even today they would've been kings.  At least Pac and Biggie would have been.  Proof was good, ODB was good, Nate Dogg, Pimp C, Eazy-E, Lord Infamous, Guru, and some of you might know the Samurai Champloo soundtrack creator Nujabes.  All dead, but all considered great before their deaths.
