Flame Dragon
Modern Deathrite Shaman is banned. Bitterblossom and Wild Nacatl are unbanned. With a Modern Pro Tour coming up and Born doing little to that format Wizards went all in to try to shake things up. Wonder how things will change. Miror B
Deathrite seems sensible. Very much abusable with all the Fetch Lands, as well as cards generally just go to the graveyard as the game goes on anyway. I don't remember why Bitter was banned, I remember it doing something just stupid.
Flame Dragon
This was there reason After everything I've just told you about choosing to ban, the last obvious deck that we haven't hit is Faeries, which was almost certainly the best deck in four-year Extended the last time we ran it. While Faeries does not currently have as much enmity from players as Stoneforge Mystic decks do, its historical popularity is not very high. We would rather remove it than risk a Faeries-dominated Pro Tour. Short version is that it was mostly a knee-jerk response to how good it was in the past. Since Modern as come into its own and Bitter doesn't seem to be much of an issue they have let it come back.
Simping For Hina
Ironic, they banned DRS to promote variety while unbanning Nacatl for the same reason. Different archetypes, though. I am really not a fan of it since I just started to love DRS and began playing against it very well. It was the best 1 mana planeswalker around and should've stayed. Welp, time to fix all of my decks now to support the changes.

Flame Dragon
Yea, I found that out via twitter. Wish Wizard posted that on their site as well. I think I'll live since I have a bane of progress to sub for him.
