mshends
Thank MasterGhost for this info 5D's Characters Set to Appear in "Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V"! Hoshino Takanori: "Jack is all-ready" A talkshow on the anime was held at the ADK booth in the Anime Japan 2015 held on the 22nd of March. Starting from April, the show will introduce yet two "new" characters from the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's anime - Jack Atlas and Crow Hogan, a piece of news that is bound to make fans of the old series excited. The voice actors who attended this event were, as previously reported, Ono Kensho (Sakaki Yuya), Takagi Manpei (Yuuto), Takagi Shinpei (Yuugo) and Kinjo Yamato (Kurosaki Shun). A surprise guest turned out to be Hoshino Takanori of Jack Atlas fame. "When I first saw the anime, I thought, 'What!? Now you can ride on monsters!?'. And if Yuya's specialty is Entertainment Duels, the King seeking real entertainment is all ready to go! (laughs)" was his first comment upon appearing on the stage. A quiz panel was also held, pitting all the voice actors against each other. A number of difficult questions were asked, including "The star on Yuya's goggles is placed on the left side, or the right side?", "Which summoning methods(s) do students of You Show Duel School not know how to conduct?", "What color are the cards of Synchro Monsters?" and "What's the name given for vehicles in 5D's?". Ono and the Takagi twins were able to correctly answer all questions, and as a gift they were awarded each with a "Duelist Entry Deck VS" product. On the other hand, Hoshino, who received the lowest score, had to play a "batsu game" in which he was to tell everyone how he felt in his character's voice. He responded with a regretful "IMPOSSIBLEEEE!" . At the end of the talkshow, each voice actor gave a comment on the show. Takagi Manpei (Yuuto): "I'm prepared to give my all into playing Yuuto until the very end. As the show becomes more and more interesting with each episode, please do not miss any one of those!" Takagi Shinpei (Yuugo): "I've only started voice acting with this role, and knowing that there are so many of you great fans around, this only makes me want to work harder to give my best performance. Please do look forward to more of Yuugo's Riding Duels in the future." Kinjo Yamato (Shun): "While it's a show filled with smiles, you would never see Shun do so. Let's all make him smile once more, shall we?" Hoshino Takanori (Jack): "It's my pleasure being able to play the role of Jack Atlas once more. (In Jack's voice) 'See you all again in the show, shan't we!' " Ono Kensho (Yuya): "With the show gearing into its second year, the plot thickens more and more. Please do continue to support Yuya and his adventures."
~British Soul~
I had a thought, what if Yugo was an AU version of Z-one? Though him being an AU version of Yusei seems way more likely Also, since it hasn't been said yet, there will also be a new opening and ending for the Other Worlds Arc. Holy fuck, this episode though
- Tatsuya's deck has an Entermachine... (Oh man another Entermage parody archetype) - Sora seems less insane after his victory over Shun - Serena using the Lunar Eclipse card to get away was a smart idea. - Everyone seems to be converging onto the volcano area - We finally see what cards the fishing bloke has, and it was nice to see The Legendary Fisherman - Michio and Fishing bloke paid the price of intrusion and got cardified. (Now Yuya's mum can stop fanb-... owait the transmission doesn't exist, and Good riddance fishing bloke) - ...and Red Ninja too, oh man shit just got real - One more thing, I'm sure the Fishing bloke put Mieru down behind the rock, but now they've been cardified, I bet it won't be long before she is found, or she can be forgotten about... (Not counting Ryouzanpaku who are presumably MIA and Yuzu in the Synchro Dimension, that leaves 5/16 finalists remaining; Yuya, Gongenzaka, Shun, Dennis and Blue Ninja) - Blue Ninja guy was lucky Sawatari jumped in at the last minute - Though I found him getting the 2k penalty really amusing. - New Frightfur next week, and I forgot that we wont see Sawatari's new deck till Episode 49
And with Jack Atlas (HYPED!!) set to reappear in Arc-V, it makes me wish the "rumoured" Resonator Structure Deck wasn't confirmed to be fake... Gokai-Red
I'm still wondering what Yugo's name is gonna be in English dub. In order for them to make a reference to Fusion..... What names rhyme with Fusion? Yusion? Kuzon? Yolymerization? And I only found like 3 Zuzu names in wikipedia. Duce? that rimmes with Fuse
~Faytl~
Holy three v three duel, Batman! Wish we'd seen more of RedNinja's deck, though it looks identical to the other guy's, which seems to be about holding off all attacks until he can OTK. LEGENDARY FISHERMAN! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA- Oh, wait, he's a card. Didn't expect that, I got the impression he was sticking around for a while. Michio we already knew about, of course. Yuya got out of berserk mode, cool. Neo-New Sawatari, savin the day, hell yeah! And the penalty was pretty funny as well. The Obelisk Force is BS. WTF is that monster in the middle of Sora's field in the preview? Doesn't look like Wolf...

~Faytl~
So I noticed something interesting just now. During the duel today with the Obelisk Force, Shun's turn kept getting shifted around because of his injuries from dueling Sora. I was thinking to myself "Come on guys, if Shun manages to make Rise Falcon you basically win, Serena almost did the same thing." And then I realized that Serena's Cat Dancer and Shun's Rise Falcon actually are very similar in nature, more to the point, their decks win the same way. Both of their decks so far seem to revolve around using Cat Dancer and Rise Falcon, respectively, to attack a lot of times in a single turn after building up a lot of attack power, be it by effects like Moonlight Blue Cat or Rise Falcon's own effect. The main difference is this: Shun's Rise Falcon relies on gaining the power of his opponent's monsters and turning it against them, as well as being tailored specifically towards Extra Deck monsters due to his conflict specifically with Academia. Serena, conversely, already has her Cat Dancer in possession of 2400 attack points, which is pretty good for it's effect, and she gives it extra attack power by her own cards and she can attack EVERYTHING twice, not destroying it on the first attack so she can deal a metric crapton of damage. Her deck very much embodies the outlook of Academia, that outlook basically being "All your base are belong to us." She doesn't rely on more clever strategies that punish her opponent for playing the game or use the myriad of spells and traps Shun uses to get out of tough jams he expects now, she uses her own cards that largely seem all about driving home her sheer power. What I'm getting at is that it's a great way of showing off how two people on opposite sides of a conflict (though that isn't going to be true for much longer by the looks of it) have decks that use similar win conditions, but go about it in different ways based on their ideals and the position they're in in their respective dimensions, and it's a level of deck parallel I haven't seen in the series before. If it's intentional, it's subtle to the point of genuinely impressing me. ALSO, let's take a look at Yuzu's strategy. What's been her main way of winning since she learned Fusion Summoning. Bloom Diva, which does EXACTLY what Rise Falcon does- Takes advantage of the power her OPPONENT has rather than herself, albeit by attacking with a weaker monster as opposed to pumping up a weak one. Even Shuberta takes advantage of the opponent's used resources. Yuzu's deck is extremely similar to Shun's in terms of how it wins now based off of the actions her opponent takes. Bloom Diva even works specifically against Special Summoned monsters like Rise Falcon. This is something that puts me firmly aboard the "Yuzu = Ruri" train; I think it was stated the Academia already had Ruri, but I'm starting to think that might not be true. And we only really have Yuto's word as the most definite statement that she isn't Ruri. And while I love Yuto, he thought a dude was on the side of Academia because his name sounded like Fusion. Not the most reliable of credibility on that.

Flash Flyer - Sakura
Michio/Fisherman guy got turned into cards; k. OF is still Hound Dog spam.dek (with burn). Comparing the lot in Arc-V to RL players, we'd most likely be able to take down Obelisk Force with the Decks we have now. Then again, this is the animeverse; we have cards that they do not, and vice-versa. Ninja guys actually dueled, which makes me happy. It is a shame that Hikage (or whichever fought Sora lost) Sawatari shows up to protect the other one; this should be good. A lot of LP penalties for intrusion this episode; then again, Michio rushed into things. Yuya went berserk for a while, but returned to normal. I would've liked to see him challenge Sora in Berserk Mode. Tatsuya uses Entergiants or whatever their name is. (I guess they really like correlating things to Yuya + Entermates/Performapals). We also see him fighting Reira. Hopefully Tatsuya gets some Deck development when they fight; it's going to be really boring if Reira just wins off-screen. Again though, I still think Reira is dry as hell; even more so than manga Ruka from 5Ds.

Pchi
Again though, I still think Reira is dry as hell; even more so than manga Ruka from 5Ds.
I think you don't get the point; he's supposed to be dry like that, a child sucked out from all his joy and innocence by a tyrannical mother who pushes him to be somebody he isn't; the visual effects provided by the card he used to negate Ayu's monsters' effects reflect exactly how he sees the world around him: a dull, dark, uninviting place devoid of hopes and dreams, whose only bright spot appears to be his beloved big brother Reiji, the only person to care about him the way he is. Jord200
So basically Yugo is either from an alternate universe of 5Ds, or what was taking place AFTER 5Ds ended?
Flash Flyer - Sakura
* sees Jack and Crow confirmed for Arc-V * Things are going to be good. (Although I would've liked to see the twins again, since they've basically got shafted later on. Maybe they'll show up later, but I won't get my hopes up) Looking at the artworks, doesn't appear to be much, if any difference. Just that Jack looks a bit chunkier, but that's probably due to the angle or something.
Jord200
These seem the two only possible explanations so far. Word of god has it that apparently, the Heartland in ARC-V is an AU, though we have no indication as to what exactly this implies. It'd be reasonable to assume that New Domino is also an AU version, though, again, we don't know exactly what the implications are. On the bright side, Jack and Crow being there means that maybe we'll find out exactly in what are the places shown different from their past anime counterparts. So, I'm kinda hoping we'll be getting IV and maybe even Professor Crowler/De Medici. I loved that guy :D If GX and Zexal characters were to show up, based off Jack and Crow being here, it would probably be Kaito, Shark, Chazz, and either Jessie or Sho. evilfusion
Speaking of Crow and Jack, it was already confirmed that they indeed existed in the Synchro dimension (after all, they were shown in Yugo's flashback). I guess that we'll finally understand what's the difference between this New Domino and 5Ds New Domino when we meet them. 10 to 1 that Yusei isn't there and Yugo's in his place. Either that, or they're older and Yugo is a duelist of the next generation (it's a pretty big theme in both 5Ds and ARC-V). Yugo had a flashback? I'm currently operating on the assumption that the different dimensions are alternate versons of the respective series, if not outright future changes. Heartland could very well have been Zexal's Heartland. Easily. Not enough known about Synchro, but the 5Ds world had a LOT of explicit time shenanigans with Z-ONE/Yliaster screwing with events with the intent to destroy Neo Domino City. There could easily be a branched future there. I assume future because Yugo's D-Wheel seems more advanced in terms of Disk. Fusion Dimension seems to be outright a future version or AU version of Duel Academy, what with Ancient Gears and Academia, etc. And fusing dimensions.
