So I guess everyone will be able to use Pendulum monsters during the Battle Royale, if they find the cards. I'm betting they're largely going to be generic Pendulums, like the Plant and Machine Pendulums revealed a little while ago, but IDK. Come to think of it, Gongenzaka's deck could seriously benefit from Pendulums, given that his deck is literally all monsters anyway, so long as he can find a scale high enough to get out Benkei. Apparently Yuya is going to be targeted by Kachidoki's comrades trying to reestablish their reputation, so we're gonna be getting more of Yuya having the crap kicked out of him. And Yuzu and Gongenzaka are both up against some people from LDS. No word as to what Shun's going to be doing, though I'll bet it involves kicking the crap out of Michio, since he's the only other character in the top 16 we really know at all. Flash Flyer - Sakura Posted February 2, 2015 Report Share Posted February 2, 2015 [spoiler=41 thoughts] Too much talking in this episode; we'll have to wait for subs. Though based on the context between Reiji and his father, it appears that he wants to destroy the Synchro World as well to some extent. As for the Maiami Championship, so it's a 16-man Battle Royal. Hmm, this should be interesting. Also note that Pendulums will be here for whatever reason; Yuya better not have any problems. We know that cooking guy who topdecked like hell is still here, but again he only won because Serena decided to attack Hokuto for whatever reason. I hope that he gets creamed; also no quiz kid, which is nice because I hated that kid A LOT. We learn the names of a lot of the other competitors, but I doubt a lot of them will be relevant later on. It'll be interesting to see what the others use. LDS got some exchange students apparently; one's from Broadway, another is from Anatolia/Turkey (definitely) and last one is probably Scandinavian based on name. For later stuff, Yuya needs to fight two of the others from Ryouzanpaku because they're pissed that their classmate lost. Here's the thing though: Your classmate sent a bunch of guys to the hospital and basically tried to do the same thing to Yuya. (You guys are lucky that lawsuits don't exist in the Arc-V universe; otherwise I'm pretty sure your asses would be sued several times over by now.) Next episode spoiler shows Yuzu fighting a Ice user (Olga; 3rd one). Some words about opponent below. [spoiler=Some stuff (ignore if you want)] (Mihara Haruno) Loses to Olga in round 2. Probably not related to Sakura in any form except by same name (considering different animeverses), but more of a reaction thing. しゃーんなろー！ You lost to this character from who the hell knows where? Serena turned out to be more dull than we thought...srsly, i dont understand why would someone try to prove their strenght to someone that constantly kidnaps you. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that in all YGO animes so far the only other duelist to have done this is Jack Atlas, champion of the world. Major antagonist figures win loads of duels in a row without a loss so they don't suffer villain decay and are still an intimidating challenge. What I wonder about this tournament is, is the Battle Royale for the championship? Or are they going to stop once they get to a top 8/4/2? You mean 5 wins without having a single recorded loss since their debut whatsoever. Wouldn't that take Jack out of the picture though? When Yusei went to prison Jack noticed on next morning's recording that he had actually lost that duel, and by then he still did not really have on-screen on-present time duels unless you count the duel broadcasted on episode 1 against the guy with the flaming skulls, which wasn't really shown. Here's another one: Yubel never really lost. Though some of her duels were unfinished so there's that. Really most of the characters from any series did not even have 5 duels throughout the series. I think in 5Ds Ruka had like 4 duels and she's supposed to be one of the 5 main characters (Vs the profiler when she couldn't make Rua replace her in the surprise consolation duel, Vs that bland Dark Signer, Vs Luciano, and Vs Aporia... 2 of those were tag team or battle royale too...) Yeah, she never really lost. I mean the closest she had to a loss was a draw when her and Jesse's LP dropped to 0 from the effect of Prism Wall, though Jaden still had LP in the end. Tinkerer Posted February 4, 2015 Report Share Posted February 4, 2015 Lots of exposition. Personally, even though this episode shows Reiji's motive, I personally didn't find it all that interesting. It seems as though the show has split into two, the lighter half following yuya and co. And a darker half with Shun and Reiji as primary characters. Eventually the whole crew will merge and Yuya's light side will have to get more involved in the war though. I forgot if they said the Battle Royal would last until X number of players is around, though it probably is the case, and most likely the relevance of this tournament ends when lancers are recruited, regardless of the winner, which there still has to be one because the audience doesn't know the tournament is anything but that. I like how the need to get Pendulum Cards first gives them a reason to split across the city instead of awkwardly going away in random directions before starting their hunt. What I'm confused about is on Reiji's current team. The pink hair guy that uses Prophecies.... wasn't he supposed to be in the regular tournament? Oh no, wait.... I just answered my own question... I forgot the tournament has 3 divisions and Yuya and company are in the middle one. So all 3 divisions will be doing this simultaneously? I mean, it is more or less clear Reiji let the older division get to top 8 so that they face those 8 Fusion Dimension invaders and the numbers get evened out, but if the older ones are around putting up a show, does this mean we'll be seeing blue-hair kid and Reira from the younger division also running around? They seem to be on their seats much like they do all the time, I barely even remember that other age divisions exist in this tournament. Selena is not a very good character. She's all tough sounding and somehow thinks that disobeying her boss's orders will give her recognition from him, which I understand she's going for "and he'll say -I was wrong. You very strong. Wow. Such Skill. Much Potential. Very Soldier Material- " but this doesn't really feel right. To begin with, I don't even know why there's this much loyalty towards Leo if he doesn't even tell most of them what they doing this for. I'm sorry but she's so far just annoying. Now where have I heard that before? Oh right, Yubel towards end of Season 3. Yuya, Yuzu and Tatsuya (small kid) get encouraged to win, and make Sora come back here. However, he probably won't rejoin now that he he has a mission. Sora's returning, although he has "escorts" for this. Shun's basically there to find the top 8 of whoever's good enough to fight the Professor; even if he is still an ass in terms of dueling. He tells the top 8 LDS students to remain alive. If you ever experienced war, Sakuragi, then you'd understand what Shun meant. But looks like you haven't. So everyone has to get Pendulum Monsters and it uses Battle City rules to some extent (ante); okay... Yuya probably won't need them too much, since he already has a Deck full of them; but we shall see. A lot of things from RAWs still hold. It'll be interesting to see what the characters do with them at this point (based on their Decks and what said Pendulums will do for them). Will they hinder the user or be a valuable addition? I didn't think she'd one to follow orders anyway. - She also states that since Reiji appeared three years ago, she had been stuck in the castle whilst her colleagues went on the front line. - When Akaba Leo and his Obelisk Force soldiers captured Serena, he delivered a promise to her, he will find her wherever she runs and capture her. (Even if she escaped to Standard) - Akaba Leo explained to Reiji that the device he put on him will self-destruct when he returns to Standard and so he cannot return, the way he came in was sealed. - Reiji probably had his reasons for lying to Serena about the duelist from the Xyz dimension; Shun, and tells her if she causes a disturbance, he won't overlook it. - Before Barrett's forced return, he tells Academia exactly where Serena is. - Akaba Leo allows Sora to return to Standard but only with Obelisk force soldiers and with the task of bringing back Serena. - Tatsuya (Blue haired kid from YSDS) is still in the Junior tournament surprisingly. - The city-wide Battle Royale across the city (being organised last minute for one) was basically an excuse made by Reiji to hold off invaders, even though said invaders will be handled by the LDS 8. - It was also so that the city doesn't dissolve into panic. - Shun was ordered with scouting out duelists with potential from the other 15 left in the Junior Youth class. - All duelists need to find Pendulum cards before they can duel and they have to ante them in their duels. JessicaMuddy Posted February 4, 2015 Report Share Posted February 4, 2015 The thing about the whole Pendulum Monsters around the city thing is that so far, IRL, other than Time/Stargazer there haven't been any Pendulums except some with no effects abd the ones that support Normal Monsters. So will we finally be able to see Pedulum Monsters with good, useful effects than can be used IRL or are we going to see a lot of Normal Monsters in the Battle Royale?
