~Faytl~
So are they still in the first round or not? Because if they're still in the first round, I'm really wondering how the hell Reira and Futoshi are dueling again when the older guys seem to have still only dueled once. Or maybe they have fewer entries in the younger class and it just moves faster because of it. I'm going to assume that's what happened. Didn't expect Mieru to get knocked out in round one, but whatever. Jesus CHRIST, Yaiba got a brutal beatdown, that duel purple-hair has with Yuya is going to be intense. Hokuto moved on to the next round, making him the only one of the LDS trio to do so. Yuya seems to take his next opponent's methods personally. I always kind of wondered WHY they didn't just push and whack each other; Hell, even Gongenzaka and Ankouji (I think that's how you spell his name) just sparred BEFORE their match-up; Ultimately meaning this guy has less scrupulous morals than ANKOUJI. Yikes. Dunno why the tournament rules allow you to beat the actual shit out of your opponent.
 Â
Yeah I think the older people are the main event, with the other one being more of a side thing. Sort of as a "your kid can get started now" kind of deal. I missed on one thing though, did the blue hair kid not enroll at all? Â I think I can sort of tell where next episode is going. Yuya will bring out Dark Rebellion out, mirroring his not-so-happy current mindset when getting the chance to get back at this purple guy that goes against what Yuya aims to stand for on stage. Â I would have wanted to see the duel they just skipped by in those 3 minutes. X-Sabers can be very powerful so they getting stomped like that off-screen is bull. I hope they don't do what happened with Tron in ZeXal, where they showed him beating 3 people at the same time off-screen but never showed any on-screen plays that could actually do that, and in fact his deck looks really slow and dysfunctional without Sphere Field. Â I think Ankouji was sort of like Gongenzaka (they both just sort of stood there and disregarded Action Cards). Â
asterr259
Lots of OTKs going on in this tournament I see. CCs/CCCs also seem to mimic DDs/DDDs in the sense of using all the summoning methods. But that last tho... Seriously? I'm SURE there's a rule against beating the s*** out of your opponent. It was fine in Sora's case something fell on him. But Yaiba... This was all I could think of during that "duel"...
evilfusion
Okay, the beginning of the episode made me WTF so hard. I must see the subs there, because it was just so absurd. Â As expected, since Yuya was out for 2 days or whatever, there was a lot of stuff happening off-screen. Reira beating that annoying kid was wonderful, and with a Synchro Summon, apparently? Yeah, he is so being expected to follow Reiji's footsteps. It was probably another CCC monster, but they're keeping that under wraps. I have no doubt whatsoever that he will end up facing blue-haired what's-his-name, since he took out the other two You-Show Juniors. Â I guess I'm not shocked Yaiba lost to the Worf effect after all. But Hokuto moved on. I'm now expecting a Yuya vs Hokuto rematch, as Yuya's access to Dark Rebellion means he now has an Xyz. I'm also expecting Yuya to use Dark Rebellion in the next Duel. Should be interesting.
Spinny
I love how the guy just used action cards as an excuse to physically hurt the opponent, so much so that it sent him to hospital.
Î’yakuya
Poor Yaiba....did that guy just win cause he beat Yaiba up by just physically beating him and giving him paper cuts with Action Cards? That's a real low. For another thing, Yaiba immediately had his lifepoints dropped from 4000->0 like that. In addition to repeating that fact with Mieru, it just seems like the guy beat Yaiba up like it was a walk in the park. X-Sabers are nothing to be mocked, and I really need to see that guy and his philosophy in action.  I mean, if I see him use a gimmick build instead of the actual ninja archetype or something similar, then I'd be pretty pissed. This fight is for Yuya to convey his beliefs; Hope he does it well.
~British Soul~
Finally got around to watching the episode. Â
- Mieru randomly appearing at the beginning of the episode made me go WTF, it was that absurd. - I see the opening has been altered to include Ruri. - So Reira can use Synchros and used them to defeat the Shivers kid (No complaints here), and I'm not surprised they're keeping it under wraps seeing as it's being done off-screen. - Not surprised that Mieru lost to a mysterious ninja guy though, even though he literally dropped her LP from 4000 to 0. - Seemed as if Ayu confused Ruri for Yuzu. (Though has she hasn't been the only one to have made that mistake) - I think Kachidoki might've used excessive violence on Yaiba using Action Cards, that's so low. Although having his LP drop from 4000 to 0 (like with Mieru) seemed a bit silly given that Yaiba uses X-Sabers.

Flash Flyer - Sakura
Isao's even more violent than Shun, considering that he literally was beating the shit out of Yaiba during their match (physically). Or at least close enough to it. When the hell were you allow to physically hit your opponent in a duel? Last time this happened was with Valon's Armor cards in DM. Reira can Synchro; probably wouldn't surprise me if he could Xyz too. Then again, I still think he's a less entertaining version of manga Ruka. Would've liked to see Futoshi's cards in better detail; then again Reira didn't show much either. Assuming Mieru was doing some ritual thing to try to get Yuya awake or see his future; need to see the subs. Mieru loses to a ninja whose cards we have no idea about; same with Isao (will probably see them later on). Yuzu learns about the four dimensions. Honestly thought Yuya was going to ask Hokuto for Xyz tutoring now that he has Dark Rebellion, but appears he wanted to see Shun. Timeline15
aanndd Yaiba and Mieru lose off screen (I know this tournament needs to be got through, but really Yaiba? How the hell does physically beating up your opponent even count as winning? Not hugely surprised by Reira's synchro, but disappointed at no new sketch beasts (ah who am I kidding, they were never going to print them anyway). Â Kachidoki and ninja guy better be important, otherwise I will be very mad that existing secondary characters were bumped off just to keep them in the tournament. I'm already kind oif pissed off that so much interesting stuff happened off screen. Â btw, is the new Yuzu supposed to be ruri, or fusion Yuzu? I couldn't tell. but she dresses like a pokemon character.
Flash Flyer - Sakura
I'll assume it's the fusion version of Yuzu. Then again, it may be Ruri if there's enough similarities between the two. Â To be honest, I can't say either; we'll find out in 2-3 weeks. Â --- As for Isao and Tsukikage (that's his name), they probably will have some relevance; former is definite because of Yuya's duel. Can expect Yuya to get heavily beaten up in this match; why they didn't DQ Isao for excessive force is beyond me.
Premier Alexander Romanov
You know, the physical violence reminds me of this one RP character I had that would engage people in melee combat while dueling.
Timeline15
given how dangerous action duelling was already, I shouldn't be surprised that they let contestants beat each other up, but it just doesn't sit right with me. The ability to beat people up has nothing to do with duelling skill, which is largely what the tournament is about. (also, I think the wh,ole 4000 straight to 0 thing is just to show that he lost, without showing the duel, rather than him actually being OTK'd). Â Also, is anyone else surprised by how little Reiji has duelled so far. He's being promoted like all hell, but he's thus far only lingered in the background. Makes him a nice change from all the kaiba replacements, but I had expected him to duel again by now.
Premier Alexander Romanov
Yeah...when you really think about it, is this kind of behavior really tolerated at a tournament, or does Isao's school just have an army of lawyers at their beck and call? Even if this were a martial arts tournament (in which case, I could see physical contact with the opponent), that much force isn't acceptable. Then again, I assume that contestants didn't sign any liability waivers before entering. Â I would assume that Ryouzanpaku can afford to pay any damage suits filed against them, or the concept of lawsuits doesn't exist in the Yugiohverse. Î’yakuya
Regardless, it's the writer's struggle to try to characterize a minor antagonist in such a short time, and since there was a good amount of time creating exposition, the only way to make Kachidoki intimidating was to purely beat up someone, and unfortunately Yaiba was caught in. Kachidoki I think never even said a single word during the episode. If that's really how he goes around then that really pisses me off. Â But hey, if Kaiba could allow a deranged psychopath go through his tournament who has rendered at least 3 people unconscious and/or injured, then the YGOverse allows this illogical action too. Â Again, if the writers give Kachidoki an anime-typical gimmick archetype which realistically is no match for true X-Sabers in the next episode, then f**k me sideways and drop my Life Points down from 4000->0, that's pretty damn low. We're all cheering for Yuya as always.

It should be noted that Kachidoki WAS getting a crapton of action cards and apparently using allof them, in the Swords Graveyard field no less, and action cards in that field seem to be mainly atk buffs, which I'm betting is a big contributing factor to his beating Yaiba. Jord200
My thought was his deck focuses on ATK buffs, or just has monsters with stupidly high ATK, kind of like Anna.   It would make sense. Yuya is probably going to use DRXD. It would be the ideal counter for such a deck. Really bummed about Mieru losing though. Would have liked to at least see her Duel.   And I'm sure Yaiba and Gongozaka will rematch at some point.
Timeline15
Actually, thinking about it, do you suppose this is all being allowed to happen because of Reiji? I mean, this tournament is all to recruit his lancers, so not only does he not care about the tournament itself, he actively wants people who can fight. He probably allowed kachidoki to enter for that very reason. Ninja guy too. Also just occurred to me that the whole time Yaiba was getting beaten up, he had a sword on his back. I mean, I think it's wooden, but surely the sword themed x-saber user knows how to fight? Â Yeah, and Yuya looked pissed off at the end of the episode. Hope he whips out dark rebellion and almost tears this guy a new one, and someone has to stop him. Like the orichalcos arc. Unfortunately, the preview makes it look as though it may just be some wacky hijinks.
Flash Flyer - Sakura
Yeah, I would assume Yaiba would be proficient enough in wielding it; considering that he has used it to dislodge Action Cards. As for hand-to-hand combat, I don't know. Â (This is coming from me, as a martial arts practitioner) Â Â Indeed though, Yuya better kick Isao's ass in their duel; probably will. Can only imagine the surprise LDS will have when Dark Rebellion emerges; Shun, probably. Â (Xyz Summoning isn't difficult to master though; but does Yuya have a steady stream of Level 4 monsters. I know he has a few)
