I dunno, I kind of like Sawatari. He's got a flair for the dramatic that gets criticized in-universe, but it still rather amusing to watch BECAUSE it's so unnecessary even by the show's standards. His cheering squad is annoying as hell, because they're blatantly just ego-boosters who take up screen-time and have no personalities of their own.

For people who's watched Xiaolian Showdown, he's basically Yugioh's version of Jack Spicer. And I love him for it.

He's all about being over the top and flat out silly, and he's a great relief character in all honesty.

Cheer squad is part of the package, we just have to get used to it.

That's true...

And tonight I realized a really nice nod that only makes sense in Japanese.

The series has made it clear that Ayu admires Yuzu, at least in a big sister sorta way.

I also already knew that Yuzu was the name of a citrus fruit, and one of the most prized varieties is a sweet one called yuku.

What's relevant here is actually Ayu's namesake and deck.

She is named after the Ayu fish, a fish whose particular flesh has a sweet taste to it. So, think about the deck she plays...

She plays diva-like fish. And her name is sweet fish.

So her deck actually mirrors her name, as her name is Sweetfish (a western name for Ayu) to Yuzu's Citrus Fruit, and she plays Diva Fish to Yuzu's Diva Angels.

It's a side character, but it's nice to see that her deck really does reflect who she is at this point; wanting to grow up like Yuzu, but wanting to be true to herself.
- Nameless definitely saved Yuya's backside as it not only got rid of the Tornado card, but it also caused Sawatari's monsters to go back to the deck.
- The crowd started to get fired up over Pendulum Summoning.
- Sawatari's reaction to Transparent was amusing to say the least.
- Reiji definitely seemed impressed by Pendulum Fusion.
Also...

"Chimeric Beast VS The Evolving Falcon"" is the thirty-fourth episode of the Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V anime.

Sora has all his monsters destroyed by Shun Kurosaki's "Rise Falcon". Even though he summons an all-new Fusion Monster and starts a fierce attack with it, Shun's strategies are still one step ahead of him. Sora could not hide his anxious feelings, however...

> Evolving Falcon

We can assume that this is where we'll see Raid Raptor's Rank-Up.

I'm always confused by the side characters' reaction to attacks in the action duels. They make it seem like it's a legitimate possibility to get hurt or worse in these duels. Are we supposed to believe that Masumi could actually have fallen to her death in her duel with Yuzu, or that Yuya could be crushed by rubble in his duels with Hokoto and Shingo? Why the hell would they let children play these games, much less in a tournament?

At least in past yugioh seasons, the duels only got dangerous once the bad guys made the damage real. Here, it seems like any duel can be deadly, and yet they let 10 year olds play this game. o_0

Regardless, duel was fun, but I'm much more hyped for Shun vs Sora
• Sawatari decides to Pendulum those two smaller Yousenjuu with nearly identical names, then Advance Summon Daibakaze so it doesn't disappear after leaving, k.
 • Transparent is BS to some extent [immunity to everything save for battle]
 • Reiji got impressed by Yuya Fusion Summoning using OEPD + Drumming Kong
 • Crowd wanted to see Pendulum Summon a lot; they got their wish.
Still more interested in Shun v Sora.

As for new episode, guess we ARE getting some form of Chaos Xyz (or Rank-Up); I vaguely recall someone hoping that they wouldn't do it in here [considering Rank-Ups were ZEXAL 2 plot material]. If that's the case, suppose that Yuto's probably capable of it to some extent also.

Action Fields incorporate physical mass to the surroundings and the monsters. Having a physical building fall on you would be dangerous. Sometimes, it's easily avoidable by not doing anything too reckless. Of course, anime physics being what they are, they probably could fall a great height and survive without much damage, so the reactions is probably to indicate that even though DEATH is unlikely, you could probably break or sprain something.

As for Rank-Up...the issue is that Zexal made Rank-Ups a plot aspect. Also, that most Rank-Ups Summoned Chaos Xyz. Hopefully, Arc V won't bother with Chaos Xyz, and that Rank-Up cards or effects will be more generic.

But then again, Yuto and Shun are implied to be from a future version of Heartland City. Having Rank-Up in some form seems almost expected.

Really, we had a Rank-Up in the first episode Xyz Monsters appeared. I am fairly certain regular Rank Ups, at the very least, will continue to appear.

Constellars don't really count as a Rank-Up. Rank-Up in this context usually refers to using a card with "Rank-Up" in its name, particularly "Rank-Up-Magic".

Kind of what I was thinking. I would describe it more as Hope in Hope Ray. ( The original one. ) Chaos Xyz Change.

Subs are up guys (Link is at the top post of this page)
- So it was noted that Yuya knew where the Great Escape card was, but waited until Daibak's attack to fetch it, sneaky.

- Reiji acknowledged Yuya's evolution with Pendulums (Given it was HIS first time witnessing Pedulum Fusion)
- Reiji wants to claim Sawatari's Pendulum cards so that he can mass produce them.

From that, we can ascertain that Sawatari's cards were prototypes for LDS' Pendulum production and there was no complications.

I like that Shingo seems like less of an idiot now. He's still over the top, but he had legitimately good strategies this duel, and seemed to... somehow be less of an a-hole at the end of the duel than before it started... I guess that's the magical, "you've earned my respect by winning a children's card game" power that yugioh protagonists have.

Also the Yosenju are awesome.

Part of it is also that Sawatari enjoyed the Duel. And with good reason, this was one of the best Duels, legitimately intense and showcasing a newer RL archetype with some anime support. He was upset he lost, but wasn't really humiliated by the loss, whereas his previous losses to Yuya and Yuto hurt his pride more than anything. The audience cheered his efforts, and that probably made it easier to swallow.

He probably views Yuya as a rival, not an enemy. And Yuya probably feels similarly, since he was legitimately delighted to fight against Pendulums, opposed to how he reacted when Reiji used them.

Well, think of it like this: Yuya, no matter what duel he's in, will almost always get Stargazer, TImegazer and Odd-Eyes obscenely quickly, despite only having 1 copy of each. The anime has the most obscene consistency that I think it's probably programmed into the Duel Disk shufflers to get the best hands to ensure duels stay interesting. And Yuya's is probably faulty, which is why he's the only one who bricks. So Shun gets 3 Lanius all the time because of the anime consistency.
