• Sash was shown to be given before a heavy match. Prior, I would've thought it was related to his skill.
 • Battleguards were meh-ish. Mad Shaman's effects are potent enough.
 • Gen was an asshole throughout episode; especially what he did. Good riddance that he's gone for now.
 • Essentially strategy into Susano-O; Tama-C was probably against opponent stealing Benkei or something.
They made a big deal out of Gongenzaka's little gamble with Glo-V's effect, which requires the player to draw a Superheavy Samurai monster in order to go off, but since Gongenzaka has nothing but SHS monsters in his Deck, he was never in real danger in the first place ¬_¬ Noboru, you magnificent bastard...
Honestly I do feel that the plot device of cards that rely on topdeck excavation is really getting old. I after looking at the episode again, it was really dumb considering as if Gogenzaka forgot he was the Steadfast type with no S/Ts. I just feel it's getting old with some unrealistic styles of play, and even I consider those topdeck draw phases are much more legit.

I suppose this is Arc-V's way of referencing past series.

May/may not be a surprise if the Field Spell does resemble the actual city from ZEXAL.

Then again, that episode is 3-4 weeks ahead.

As for characters who need to duel, there's still Sora v Shun; and then Takuya (that other small kid); plus Hokuto/Yaiba.

Given the previews, Yuya vs Shingo is a 2-parter (much like their last fight).

We use Anime4Fun.

For easy access, either British or I link the episode when it comes out in RAW.

You can check the same link in a few days after we post them, so you can watch the subs [unless of course, you're fluent in Japanese and only need to watch once].

(Otherwise, you can use Gogoanime, but you'll have to wait a min or so due to some ads)

EDIT: British linked you the site; now use it for Arc-V (or whatever anime you feel like)

Well, the blurbs for Episodes 33 and 34 are up.

They might not be trustworthy (Episode 30 lied about Ankokuji's strategy), but they say that Shun gets "shaken" by the Field Spell being the Heartland Field Spell.

Could it be that Shun and Yuto are from a catastrophic future of the ZEXAL universe?

based on things various people have brought up (yuto's cloths being a tattered version of Yuma's school uniform, his world re-using building models from zexal, etc) I think that's highly likely. And based on who he fought there, I think it's safe to say we'll be sing the 5Ds world at some point too.

:D
...Wait.

DM, GX, and 5D's are all the same universe.
So...could Sora be from a different timeline altogether?
A totally new universe, separate from the ARC-V main universe, the ZEXAL universe, and the DM-GX-5D's universe?
Furthermore, assuming they are simply traveling through space and not time, with time being constant and equal between the three universes, does this mean that the events of ZEXAL take place between GX and 5D's in their own universe?

I always assumed there was only ever one universe, and we just kept jumping forwards in time (hence the robots in Zexal) My guess would be that arc v plans to retcon the others into being different universes entirely (a la kamen rider decade for anyone who watches that franchise).

In any case, Zexal certainly seems further into the future than 5ds. robots, virtual reality, etc...

There's no official word on that, but most fans assume ZeXal takes place on a different universe from the first three series (which, canonically, all happened in the same world) because how the former's mythos diverges from the latter's one, not to mention the lack of direct references to any of the previous installments of the franchise. Honestly, I find this hypothesis quite convincing, and if the three universe do come to collide in Arc-V, my joy would be unending ^_^

It's all so complicated to map.

Yugi's time was the origin, GX was a direct future time.

In 5Ds Yusei knew Yugi (everybody does) but he had never heard of Jaden before.

In ZeXal, Yuma at the dojo was shown to know Yugi AND Jaden, but not Yusei. This implied Jaden's legacy was passed down in the future, but for some reason it skipped 5Ds.

In Arc V, we have somewhat seen ZeXal-like stuff, but IDK.

Did you watch the dub version or the sub version of that specific ZeXal episode? While I never watched the episode per se, I don't recall anyone commenting on such thing by the time it was aired for the first time, nor reading in any place about references to characters from previous series in ZeXal, so that makes me wonder if that wasn't a dub-only thing.

I forget what number of episode it was from ZeXal, but there was a wooden statue of Neos at the Dojo, which Yuma greeted with the same enthusiasm as the Dark Magicians, Blue-Eyes, and Red-Eyes ones. I'm unable to provide direct proof as of right now, though.

Can't find the episode online yet, but the new opening an ending have been posted to youtube. The new ending sounds like something that would have been used as an opening for Duel Monsters back in the day, and Yugo gets a spot in the opening!

Would post links, but that feature doesn't seem to be cooperating right now.
Wow. That combo of Sawatari's was... BRUTAL in it's efficiency. That was actually really intelligent. And considering he can't have had the deck for long and this is a universe where Yuzu needed a dozen episodes to understand the concept of "play Poly and fuse," he's gotten smarter since last time. And as delightfully over-the-top as always.

Still wondering how Reira's going to factor into the overall plot. I think the fact that he's with Reiji in his base of operations is more proof that Reiji actually likes him and he's got a better relationship with him than with their mother.
I want to know the pre-duel dialogue was, it sounded amusing and Shingo was still as over the top as ever.

The new opening and ending were quite cool. Sora looked kinda creepy in teh ending though.

That combo of Shingo's though, that's absolutely absurd. Definitely interested to see how Yuya can get out of that pickle.

I agree with Armz, Shingo was definitely cocky when he got rid of Odd-Eyes, going "bye bye".
• Sawatari decides to enter in monk clothing, per se. I guess it fits in with his new Deck being based on Shintoism and stuff to an extent.
 • Field Spell is a ruined castle; probably fitting due to Yousenjuus.
 • Yuya's Pendulum Summons are sealed; let's see how he fights back.
 • Sawatari got cocky that he got rid of Odd-Eyes; then again, his attitude was already like that.
 • What the hell did he say in pre-duel dialogue?
 • Yousenjuus were brutal this time around; should probably test that on DN when I get time. (Of course, Yosen Tornado isn't there; but proxies generally work)
