• So Yuzu gets her revenge from the LDS v You Show match, and Fusion Summons twice. Guess I can't call her out anymore for Yuya outdoing her without being trained.
 • Brilliant Fusion is essentially a faster Future Fusion for most intents and purposes (Spell discard probably isn't relevant with Spellbooks or whatever returns themselves to the hand).
 • Masumi gives Yuzu the Crystal Rose card. Will have to wait for the subs to figure out what the convo was. (Though I suppose Yuzu's final line this episode was related to her vowing to get better at Fusion Summoning). Probably safe to assume Masumi won't look down on Yuzu now.
 • Art is weird this time around; Lady Brilliant Diamond is potentially a 1-card Fusion on a 3.4k body.

Gongenzaka v Gen should be interesting. Gen had an oni-like monster, so...

then if Yuya makes the finals, Yuya vs Yuzu, the rematch.

I really don't see that happening... for the finals at least, and you never know, Yuzu might've already been eliminated by then.

Anyways, FINALLY got around to watching the episode.
Yuzu definitely learned from the previous duel by banishing GK Fusion from Masumi's grave.
Because of how fast she depleted her hand, thus the reliance on action cards to use some of her cards' effects, I figured Yuzu would stop Masumi from getting the vital action card that Masumi needed at a pivotal point.
I see the face down defence thing that was seen in the duel against Mieru applies to any monster, not just flip effect monsters. (Can't remember if that was seen earlier than the Mieru duel though)
At least Yuzu's monster saved Masumi's life at the end as she might not have survived that fall.
Masumi giving Yuzu Crystal Rose, although will have to wait for le subs for the dialogue that came with that scene.
If it's an Oni, then Gen might be following his hero's footsteps by using Battleguard monsters or something similar to them.
That seems reasonable; considering Gen was a huge fan of Strong Ishijima (whom might not appear again in-person in the series anytime soon).

We'll just have to see what happens next week.

We'll probably see Hokuto/Yaiba dueling later on [and given Gongenzaka can Synchro, Yaiba probably might be impressed at it]. Come to think of it, Gongenzaka should be getting a Level 6 [Shutendou-G or something like that]

Just watcehed le subs (Go to the previous page and click the link in Sakura's post)
Basically Masumi told Yuzu to keep winning otherwise she wouldn't be able to stand losing to her, and when Masumi gave Yuzu Crystal Rose, she said that the latter needed it to shine brigher than she did today.

Got caught up n' junk.

I like how we have at least 4 characters using Fusions. Although, I do appreciate the fact they are letting more characters be outside of their element and include cards/etc that wouldn't normally expect from such things. So it's like 5Ds in the sense that they just made it up as they went along.

5. there are 5 fusion users: Masumi, Sora, Yuzu, Reiji, and Reira. Unless you mean duelists who use fusions exclusively, in which case you would be right.

"at least 4". 5 is also "at least 4".

Herpderp.

Yeah, it certainly adds more variety into the mix.

It also raises a question... Assuming they ARE going with the 5D's route and adding Extra Deck/etc monsters as they see fit, this could potentially lead into a bunch of crazy things. And not just with Yuya, since we've seen other characters use different things as well. Question is... How far are they will to take it?
Masumi essentially tells Yuzu that she had better win the tournament, and Crystal Rose is to help Yuzu do as well as she did this time.

I figured it would be something along those lines.
Now we see if Yuya learns how to make Xyz/Synchros next; but I doubt it's happening anytime soon.

I think they'll probs give Yuya Xyz and Synchro, but that might not be for a while.

I like duel only episodes because I can just watch raws and know most of what's happening thanks to consistent key terms. Plot episodes you have to wait and then you have to read and then there's cliffhangers, etc.

Although one thing I notice is that in both Arc-V and Zexal, a lot of duel episodes look incredibly budgeted.
- There was an error when Susano'o was summoned, it showed its 3800 DEF as 3800 ATK instead.
- Gen using a Battleguard deck showed how much he idolised Strong Ishijima.
- The result wasn't that surprising tbh.
- Might have to wait for the subs to some out to know the bits that involved Yuya in this episode.
• Susano'o showed ATK 3800 when summoned; should've showed DEF (as we know it has 2400 ATK from the last time this was used).
 • Episode blurb mentioned Action Cards; didn't see any.
 • Assuming Yuya beat all 4 of those thugs at once.
 • Gongenzaka got a black belt at the beginning; probably to show his mastery or something. Too bad Gen ripped it when Mad Shaman attacked.
 • Yaiba was disappointed when Horaga-E got stolen, since Gongenzaka can't Synchro at that point.
 • Tama-C is anti-Machine [probably a counter if someone took Benkei, which Gen did this episode]
Overall, good episode.

As for the above, Hermit Youkai look good in animated form; even Daibakaze.

(Wish Shingo had gotten a new Archetype instead of this, but at least they're promoting stuff that already exists, instead of making more things that aren't going to be released for a while; if ever)

I really don't get what was going on with Gogenzaka's sash, period.

It was just the MacGuffin:

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MacGuffin

I thought it was pretty cool to see more Battleguard cards, didn't really expect that, and they just keep on supporting them Superheavy Samurai, and hey, I am not complaining either. Just hope the IRL versions are going to be more useful.

I agree, as-is the new Superheavy stuff are quite meh

Anyways, got around to watching le subs
- The thing with the black sash was explained as it was given before a pivotal match.

- Ankokuji already knew that Gongenzaka won his way to the JYC with synchros and since he had outs to said strategy he was able to make Gongenzaka panic.
- I should've established a betrayal counter for every time the word "betray/al/ed" was said by Ankokuji in this episode.

Kind of tuned out.

Just looks like the same stuff Gogenzaka's does every duel.

They should make Superheavys more aggressive with stuff that forces the opponent into a Battle Phase and attack or something.

Other than that, the new Battleguard stuff looks...as bad as the originals.
