I wonder what the hell they talked about, maybe Shun convinced Reiji that he's on a rightful mission and Reiji's gonna let him go through with it during the tourney. Should be interesting. I do foresee Yuya and Sora joining up with whoever to confront whatever bad guys in this series, so Reiji noting them makes sense. As for the duel, I'm starting to think Yuya will gradually pick up other summoning styles too, and that's awesome to me. It was apparently done by Reiji's subordinates, by his instruction. This is probably so they won't interfere with Shun's participation in the tournament. Also, Shun and Reiji's conversation was in episode 25. We just weren't told what the condition was, but it appears now that it was Shun has to participate in the tournament to Duel Reiji. But at least he can Fusion Summon, unlike Yuzu for the time being. He probably could make Xyz in the future; right now monsters are mostly of varied Levels so cannot [unlike Yuma, he can't alter their Levels; but might gain cards to let him do it]. Probably would be lower Rank Xyz if he did; if he does learn to RUM, I'll have a good laugh at it. Synchro is probably an option though; can't say if he'll do Rituals also. We know that he needed 1 more win to have 60% win rate required, so he'd have been on 29 wins/20 losses that year, and after the loss he would be on 29/21. So in order for him to qualify for the JYC, he would need to win another 3 duels in the next week. (60% of 53 is 31.8, but since you can't have 0.8 of a win, I rounded it up) (Of course, that's the bare minimum, we don't know his official win rate) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

In contrast of the enthusiastic Ayu who receives the support of everyone, Reira seems to be afraid of something. 29 - "Fuse the Melodious Divas!" The duel between Yuzu and Masumi begins. Yuzu, who was defeated by Masumi once due to her mortifications decided to learn Fusion Summon at all costs. Now its time for Yuzu to show her results so far. 30 - "The Tested Resolution of Steadfast Dueling" Gongenzaka's opponent is his former companion Gen Ankokuji. The worked up Gongenzaka cannot allow himself to lose against the person who insulted him and Yuya. However at the time, there is no sign of Yuya in the venue 31 - "The Howling Wind! Hermit Youkai Lost Tornado!" so... And that other guy showed up, but he's a minor character; no one cares if Gongenzaka beats him in their fight. Yuzu almost hits Mieru with fan; would've probably did the same thing. Sora fighting Shun? This is going to be interesting (especially since Shun is classed as LDS from what I got out of this) Futoshi (shivers kid) duels; wins duel. Reira looks like and probably is emo; even worse than manga Ruka from 5Ds. He's scared of something; probably Reiji's mom (hell she didn't even smile). If I need to say something about her, she resembles that one villain in Maleficent or whoever. Yuya giving opening speech; that's a first. (LDS gives him a slow clap; everyone else is normal. Shun didn't even bother.) Lots of cosplay duelists in the other schools entering this; well maybe towards end. Last names of other kids are known now: Futoshi Harada; Ayu Ayukawa; Tatsuya Yamashiro [/spoiler] A lot of things, but fun episode to watch. Now to see Ayu v Reira. Of course I was less surprised by this thanks to earlier previews sadly. I wonder why Yuya was chosen to give a speech during the opening ceremonies, probs something to do with his father, but that'll be something that the subs will explain. So they were given special cards that load their opponents onto their duel disks. Yuya/Satawari should be an interesting match (Especially if he's using the Hermit Youkais like the rumours suggest). Masumi/Yuzu was expected and gives the latter the chance to show the former how much progress she made with fusion summoning. The one match I am interested in (like everyone else probably) is Sora/Shun. This Reira guy intrigues me somewhat. I want to know what his story is. Seemed like it just dragged out the episode, but I guess the subs will make the character development he was no doubt receiving clearer. Yuya vs Sawatari, who will probs have Pendulums himself now. I hope he doesn't use Hermit Youkai, actually, like the rumors say; I LIKED his Darts Shooter deck, and I honestly wish he'd pick a deck to stick with. Sora is dueling SHUN?!?! Ohhhhhh man, this is gonna be a sh*tstorm. I'm actually glad shivers kid's duel was only about a minute of the episode; He annoys me. I'm MUCH more excited to see Ayu duel, especially since it seems she's using a WATER deck and Reira seems sketchier than M.C. Escher. Why did Yuya just vanish all of a sudden, and then the rest of the You Show gang started to look for him after the opening credits in the stadium? Ah whatever, at least Yuya had to do some consolation before approachign anyways. I do would like to know the rivalry between the bully and Gogenzaka though. This matchup seems coincidental or rather setup by Reiji of course, so we'll see Yuya and Yuzu's destined rematches with their rivals. Seeing Hermit Youkai is cool but I do have to assess the fact Reiji synthesized more Pendulums and gave the shrine Yokai to someone. It would be cool to see Sawatari use them but...just stick to Darts Shooter sometime man. Glad Shivers kid only had a few minutes of duel screen time; that's one big relief. So Ayu will be facing this Reira kid I guess. Ayu though looks like she would be the type to use Spirit Beasts but I guess a regular Aqua deck is more fitting. The up until then champion that would have probably done that instead instead. I think that's why. [spoiler=spoiler] -I agree with the post above me in that as much as Shiver Kids is annoying, I'd like to see more of those cards. It was hilarious. -Did anyone else get the vibe of something that'd appear in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure when Gongenzaka was standing all manly with his hand on the rival's shoulder, stopping him from bullying Yuya in a scene that didn't seem so Yugioh-like. Its yellow buttons of the jacket even loosely reminded me of this: http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20121002174935/jjba/images/e/e6/Dio_Adult.png -Yuya getting lost wasn't interesting. Don't they have phones with them? He probably just went to do his typical concentration routine before something serious like he did before dueling Strong. I would have rather seen a bit more of even Shiver's duel instead. The best and probably only good part about Yuya being lost was having Meiru appear, IDK why but she makes me laugh. Which btw where was she when Yuya arrived? -LDS kid is probably the Mokuba of the series. Though I find that character intriguing. If its like Mokuba or Haruto, he/she/whatever the character is, will go really soft later on. Though Reiji himself is not exactly a Kaiba/Chazz/Jack/Kaito in personality at all, he's well, let's just say that as weird as it was to see Reiji smiling the way it was doing it in the fangirl fans, I can totally see it happening. -Shun vs Sora... oh oh... Shun is gonna rage when he realizes its a Fusion user from another world..... Yeah, we need to see Futoshi (shivers kid) duel more in the future, so we get a better idea of what Sketch Beasts really do; aside from being a 8-year old's dinosaur drawings in card form. Yuzu v Masumi is more or less Yuzu's comeback match, since she lost while being distracted by Yuya / Yuto at the time. I would hope Shingo keeps his old Deck (or if he uses the Mobius one, fine). Just don't switch Archetypes every other episode you play in (but knowing him, he'll use the strongest and rarest cards he can find) Still, seeing Spirit Youkai in the anime will be intriguing. Probably one of the only times the anime uses cards that already exist in the real game, rather than the reverse (unless they were planning this out way in advance, but I'm not going to inquire into that further right now) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Nico makes Yuya say the oath of fair play; he messes up in beginning, but essentially fixes it afterwards. I was lol'ing at Futoshi's opponent using that 1600 ATK monster as his ace, though. I can't remember if he had a stuffed animal even though I had re-watched the episode yesterday, and I can't be asked to re-watch it again.
