Out of the three opponents Yuya has duelled so far, I definitely like Mieru the best. She's so adorable, she needs a plush, and her deck isn't too shabby either for anime standards at least.
If the rumoured OCG effect for Beast-Eyes is true, then it'd be better than the anime version which does require polymerization.
It definitely has been a long time since we've seen a character with a dead hand, and it's nice to see actually.
I noticed that there was a consistency error with Tarotray's ATK. The card said 2700, yet it was shown to have 2600.
I do want to know what Sora was seem to be having a go at Yuzu about, but we'll have to wait for the subs.
Probably yelling at her for missing more Fusion training. I got the impression she was looking for the Polymerization she dropped.
I think that might be the case. She most likely missed fusion training because she lost the Polymerization that Yuya currently has.
Yuya goes up against Gogenzaka and both of them need one more win. So who will get it? Man, this formula is very familiar. Jaden vs. Chazz anyone? Who knows. Maybe it'll be a repeat of Jaden vs. Zane.
You have a source for that?

Don't get me wrong, it actually sounds kind of awesome, but it isn't on the wiki and I'd like to know where you got that from.

Gogenzaka vs Yuya sounds too early IMO. I'm not buying it for now seeing  that Gogenzaka hasn't been much being a developed character. But come on we all know if they dueled in order to decide who gets to be registered into the Junior Youth Championships, Yuya wins hands down. Yugi vs Joey at least had both of them have conflicting motives and they are struggling to  see if one is right to surpass another. Gogenzaka might as well be another minor character if all they will do is just fill the situation with tedious flashbacks.

Besides aren't these kinds of dueling assignments Nico Smiley's repsonsibility? Why didn't he let Yuya duel Gogenzaka earlier?

Now watch, the whole episode is dedicated to Gogen, and they give us an elaborate reason why he has to beat Yuya.

At this moment in time, I'm taking Yuya/Gongenzaka with a grain of salt until it's confirmed in a couple of weeks or something
It turned out that Sora was shouting at Yuzu because he wanted her to see him win his 6th duel.
I didn't pay attention to the number of black cats that came out of that trap card until it was pointed out in the subs that there were 13 of them.
• Mieru's new monster is essentially mass destruction when flipped up. And we already mentioned that those types of cards are unhealthy for the game.
 • Yuya successfully Fusion Summons a monster [unlike Yuzu] and proceeds to OTK Mieru. The shock from other kids (and from Sora/Yuzu/Smiley were expected). And Yuya couldn't have just fused Astromancy Magician from the hand, instead of tributing Kaleidoscorp for it. Meh, whatever.
 • Mieru develops a crush on Yuya near end of series. (Just like a typical child her age...)
 • Sora doing an opera-themed duel? Not sure what to say about it, other than it was...entertaining to see.
 • Producers didn't fix the error with Tarotray if any; looks like its stats are really 2600/1300 and whoever designed the card made an error on the attack stat.
 • Gongenzaka doing training with Yaiba. Yeah, it appears he'll be getting a Synchro or so in the later episodes.

Sod the FCC, they can do one.
I can't wait to see Gongenzaka use synchros as he was seen training with Yaiba

After we learned from the subs of the previous episode, Sora earned his 6th victory... in an opera-themed duel. Didn't see that coming.
What Yuya did to fetch that action card was quite ballsy especially since the chandelier thingy was falling and it was a risk he needed to take to lift the draw lock.
He did summon Rune-Eyes in the end and tbh I'm not surprised seeing as Yuya had no way of summoning Beast-Eyes from what we saw in the preview.
It was nice to see Yuzu smack Yuya with the fan again as it was some time since she last did that.
REAAAALLY actually like Meiru. She has a legitimately good deck strategy and she's actually kind of fun.

Why is Yuya so... bishie this week? He must have stolen all the expected bishie from the Youkai archetype.

So he DID go Rune-Eyes. I thought he might; Beast Eyes didn't seem like it would help much in the situation, especially since Hammer Mammoth was destroyed.

I actually got REALLY MAD when we saw Sora's opera duel... Because we didn't get to see more of it. More of THAT, please :V

So, next week... ALL THREE of the LDS guys against Shun?

...

Well, they're f*ckin goners. I can't see Shun being eliminated as a threat so early. Gotta say I'm surprised those 3 are dueling him, I thought for sure it was going to be Yuya or Yuto doing it. Should be interesting seeing how Shun's Raid Raptors take on three really powerful decks at once. I do hope Yaiba manages to get away from it, he's my favorite of the three; Also it would seem kind of odd for him to be out of the picture when he's had so little training with Gongenzaka.

Looking forward to next week quite a bit.
Out of Yuya's duels so far for the entry into the Junior Youth, this has got to be the best or at least accurate representation of a decent and fair duel so far. I love Mieru in many ways, from her Flip/Ritual strategy to her cutesyness. Yuya was very tactical in the episode, and it appears the legitimate Action Card was enough to kill Time Seal Action Card after all.

Sora in the opera duel was hilarious, I wish I saw more of that actually. I wonder what Yuzu would be thinking when she saw Yuya use the Fusion correctly on the first try; Yuya nailed it without any training like that. I hope Yuzu gives back the Polymerization whenever he needs it, cause there's no doubt Rune-Eyes or Beast-eyes will have more debut. But I did swear Yuzu had 2 and dropped one.

Alright since I guess I have to bear through Gogenzaka's duel, it would be nice to see some Synchro action with him as a big surprise. I still think its a bit early but I guess its something to look forward too. Also, 3v1 of the LDS's best vs Shun...3 spam-and-troll-happy decks versus an obscure anime archetype...Shun better have some legit OP card.
Yuzu only failed at Fusion Summoning that time because she was distracted thinking about the whole Dark Duelist ordeal and therefore forgot to put her Fusion Monster on the Extra Deck. And Yuya only decided to Tribute Summon Stargazer in order to have him return to the ED after the Fusion, in case he didn't win with that play, and to make his "number" flashier.
My guess is that, Like Alexis vs. the Gambler,
Yuya saw through Mieru strategy and figured she can only use each of her own monsters abilities once per turn, so Yuya managed to outsmart her so she couldn't use her monsters abilities a second time for new monsters. It's kinda similar to how Gambler could only use the effect of Second Coin Toss once per turn and can't use it again.
Although Yuya knew that Mieru's effect can only be used OPT as she mentioned it (and Tarotray's flip facedown effect only works during her turn anyway), and it wasn't until he saw the vision the turn he drew Poly that he can turn the duel to his favour because Mieru was fixated on the fate she divinated for Yuya, she didn't consider the possibility of Yuya somehow making a counterattack and he assumed that she'd use Tarotray's effect as soon as he Pendulum summoned and then continue his plays unhindered.

The subs are available for us to watch
- In Nico's recap at the start, he described Gongenzaka as Yuya's "Other fated opponent", it definitely explains why Gongenzaka was shown in Nico's other recaps.

- When the crystal ball broke towards the end, it was because the fortune teller was wondering what fate lied before the boy who could change his destiny (That reminded me of Sartorius talking about Jaden).
I think that when he goes into a trance, Odd-Eyes is possessing him, somehow. Not quite sure how, but given the visuals...

Also REPD looks so much better in the anime than on its card.

No, it was specifically required to be on the board for the effect of the ace to be used.

According to V-Jump, Beast-Eyes Pendulum Dragon and Performapal Silver Claw are set to make their anime debut in episodes 25 and 26 alongside Performapal Trump Witch during Yuya's upcoming fourth duel. It also seems that Gogenzaka's new ace monster will be appearing in these episodes too, he's revealed to use a Synchro monster.
Updates about the anime…

TpwpY91.jpg
Yuya uses Performapal Silver Claw in an upcoming episode (likely 25 and 26)

Yuya uses the Silver Claw and Rune-Eyes on his on his field as the materials to Fusion Summon Beast-Eyes apparently.

Silver Claw and Rune-Eyes form Beast-Eyes.

Gogenzaka's new ace monster that will be featuring in Episode 26 and probably 25 (near the end)

Its name is Choujyuu Koujin Susano-O (So Superheavvy Koujin Susano-O)
