Just Crouton
Guys, if Arc-V doesn't come out in America, it'll be even more pointless to speculate whether or not Johnny Yong Bosch will voice Yuya and Lisa Ortiz will voice Yuzu. _________ "I can't believe she Fusion Summoned on the first turn!" ... Oh right, this isn't the same universe as GX. It's sad that it took 3 or so years to sell the archetypes they should've been selling in favor of pulling the "gotta catch all 150 Pokemon only to use 1 exclusively" crap with Zexal. Astro Dude
They work for two completely different companies. Anyway, if any of you ever bothered to read my "Another one Bites the Dust" thread in the Movies and TV Shows section of the Multimedia section, you would know that when September 27th comes and goes, the CW Vortexx will be no more. And since it is the only place to air Zexal on TV it will be a problem. The final dub episode of Zexal that will air is episode 129 before it's taken off the air, along with the rest of Vortexx programming. After September 27th there will be no more dubbed Zexal episodes. And if that stops, Arc V will not be dubbed either. See what I mean?

I already learned about this from another source, and...so? 4Kids (or whoever owns the series now) might try to get Zexal (and later, Arc-V) on Nick or CN, because Yugioh and Yugioh GX were both on CN for a few years. Even if they can't, I'm not seeing why this is relevant to the people here who just watch the subbed versions online. If we already saw the episodes, why would we bother to watch a heavily-censored version on TV where the protagonist sounds like an annoying version of Bobby Hill? Astro Dude
Sorry if you haven't seen the episode. But to actually be right, it's almost spooky. That's 2 for 2 for me. So I guess Nick will do for Yugioh what CN did for Pokemon. Well, better prep up an Arc V dub discussion/complaint thread. Or is it too soon for that? -Dom-
Did anyone else notice the Team Rocket Style intro to the 2nd duel between Reji's mum and Yuzu's dad? Awesome. I also love how they still have characters introduce the duels with them ending with "Action..." and the duelists being like "...DUEL!" to finish. too cool. They better keep that in the dub. Bahamut - Envoy of the End
Hey yo. Only just had to time to sit down and watch episode 9 (slowpoke.jpg). I haven't gone back through every page but I'm sure this has been discussed to heck, but I thought that episode was pretty blooming clever. Using that one innocent and well meaning phrase "I don't want you to hurt anyone" to set Yuzu off was really good. The way they are having these people who will more than likely not appear in the series again use established and well-known powerful decks rather than what they usually do and give them new crap that ends up anime-only tripe is great given what LDS are meant to represent and be intimidating. The duel itself was really good. The violent use of activation timings and making Yuya fall in the action duel really got Hotaku over for me. I also like how in this action duel setup the two opponents can get up close and personal sometimes like they did here, or be chasing one another like in Yuya Satawari (creating that chase experience was always a good aspect of turbo duels). The whole concept has really allowed for versatile action and interactions, rather than people just kept standing however many metres away from each other all the time. Hotaku talking about how he'd memorised the field was neat, but wasn't followed through for me when Yuya got the action card inside the falling temple. Hotaku could have said "I didn't know what that card was, as that temple has always fallen before people got in there and I never found out". Or something. Minor, minor detail. I kinda got disappointed when he went to the 2nd Plaedies and was thinking it would have been cool to see Ptolemys.... then marked like hell when he went into it!!! Then Yuya's winning move... well credit to writers for getting Fliptoads and Astromancy Magician's 'other' effects on display and to work for him after usually being in the opposite roles. Probably more out of fortune than pre-planning with their IRL effects, but credit to them. Also Trapolynx attack for the win was both silly and adorable. ^_^ Hotaku looking frankly like a drug-addict at times with his gaunt face and crazy eyes was a little creepy, but hey, can't have everything. Sora got a lot of good screen time in lecturing and being ominous. Yuzu did well. Really satisfying episode and I'm mega-hyped about Arc-V. PS: I can't understand why anyone would think for one moment Yuzu wouldn't lose to GK girl. Not because she's a girl or crap duelist or anything like that, simply the plot demands it. Yuya is going to win because he's the lead, and if you've set up a best of three duels situation staggered out over three weeks like this: do any of you really, really think after two weeks the score will be anything other than 1-1, and going to an all or nothing decider? PPS: Something I picked up on. Hokatu kept going on about how he's won 40 consecutive duels since mastering Xyz with Constellars, and how Yuya was going to be victim Number 41.... We don't have a Number 41.... Easter Egg?

~British Soul~
Finally got around to watching the episode. (I swear I have a habit of not watching the episode straight away) Yuzu was definitely too fixated on the Dark Duelist to even focus properly, though the thing is those thoughts are not going to go away anytime soon given how important it seems to be. When I saw that Yaiba was running X-Sabers, I was like "Thought so. Wasn't surprised really." I will definitely re-watch the episode when it's subbed. But to actually be right, it's almost spooky. That's 2 for 2 for me. Is it spooky though? Imo, not really, and it doesn't make you feel special either. I mean seriously... I can get a monkey to watch the previous episode and he wouldn't even need to watch this episode because he can figure out what's going to happen and skip to the next episode. Also, I saw the episode previews on the wikia for the next couple of episodes. Y'know, considering Reiji was standing outside You Show (with robes on to hide his identity), I could see him dueling Yuya after the 3-way matches are over. Even though my assumptions were correct, I will put my hand up and say, 'I must've not be the only person who thought the same as what I had bolded in that post.' We don't have a Number 41.... Easter Egg? Good analysis. I agree that the LDS students do well using established and powerful Decks in their Duels. They immediately get put on a genuine power pedestal, rather than just have characters claim they're amazing Duelists, but they use crap cards. (Granted, Kaito in early Zexal amused me by running terrible cards, but being viewed and playing the part of nigh-invincible). By anime standards, the LDS students having synergetic and powerful archetypes cement them as significant opponents. I didn't really think much about Action Duels, but now that you mention it, I agree that it's actually awesome how closely players interact not only with each other, but the area around them, and the monsters. Hokuto was a bit of a dick with how he used his effects to endanger Yuya, but it is strategically viable. On a similar note, Action Duels also allow shifts in strategies and timings that would never happen in regular Duels. For example, Hokuto's timing of Pleiades would often be considered jumping the gun in a regular Duel (doing it almost immediately after the Pendulum Summon, rather than waiting), but because of the mechanics of an Action Duel, it was logically and viable to do it then, rather than waiting for Yuya's Battle Phase or similar. Hokuto's comments about memorizing the Field and such was probably not "I know every Action Card that can and will appear and where they'll appear." I think he was just saying he knows where they'll appear, and at what timings. I always operated on the hunch that Action Cards are taken from a collective pool of thematic options based on the Field and scattered randomly. In that case, no Action Duel card locations will be 100% identical, even if they use the same Field.
Astro Dude
You know, you guys could at least pretend to be amazed about how accurate my predictions were. After reading the articles for episodes 9 and 10, and learning from the Yugioh plot formula it was actually simple to put two and two together.
